A new year brings a fresh crop of talented chefs and restaurants nominated for the coveted James Beard Awards, an honor bestowed to only the industry’s very best. Winning a James Beard Award means instant prestige and respect, as these awards are thought of as the highest award possible in the food world.

Being a semifinalist is impressive, though this list will still be culled twice more before the winners are announced on May 4 at a gala in Chicago. Below is the full list of nominees, with links to all restaurants available for booking now on OpenTable. Congratulations to all the semifinalists!

Outstanding Chef

A chef who sets high culinary standards and who has served as a positive example for other food professionals. Must have been working as a chef for the past five years.
