While dining out during this pandemic remains challenging, I suspect that patrons would be amenable to reasonable requests to turn a table after paying the check. We were not able to be seated for 30 min. past our reservation and waited in a lobby area. We did notice that others coming in after us were offered the option of waiting in the bar area. Wonder why we were not.
We were also surprised that our main courses arrived with preparations not defined in the menu: turbot with butter sauce and new york strip with a chinese five season blend sauce. In our experience, added sauces tend to be used to hide something. We thought that the turbot was overcooked, but as it was after 9pm, we didn't send it back.
Our appetizers, soft shell crab and a shared rotolo (actually a main) were fabulous! As was our waitperson.
Desserts, cheesecake and baked alaska, had a nice presentation, but rather lacking in flavor.
We have dined here in the past and really enjoyed everything. I'm sure that we will be back, but perhaps not until we get through the pandemic.

We always love Forest....great food and service. And the atmosphere is very delightful. You actually feel that you are dining in a cool city. Last night was a beautiful night and they were able to open the doors which was an extra bonus to our delightful evening.

Had another great evening with a group of 5. I've been dining at Forest Grill since shortly after it opened. After moving to Birmingham, Forest quickly became my go-to and I couldn't stay out of the place. The menu here has some outstanding items that I'm glad have endured over the past couple years, like the Farm Egg, the Bolognese, and the Duck Breast. Its always great to get such an enthusiastic reaction from my guests when announcing where we're headed, too.

I love everything about Forest Grill. Food, staff, atmosphere. The salmon was amazing and the farm egg is always a great starter!

The service was superb! The food was delicious. We had the trufflepasta and thr flavors were dynamic! The arctic char was the best I have ever tasted.

My only complaint is that we felt rushed out. We hadn’t had a date night in months and finally had a chance to get out without the kids. Everything was great including our server, the food, timing, ambiance. However I had just ordered a drink after dinner when the manager started rushing us out. She apologized but apparently they had lots of reservations and although I understand the closing at ten makes it hard to get everyone in, we felt like we were being rushed before we were ready to leave. This is the only reason I left 4 stars instead of 5.

Great atmosphere, great food and great service. What else could you ask for.

It was our valentines dinner! My wife and I arrived a 15 minutes early to the reservation. No hustle, got invited cordially. The waitress Ashley was very helpful. The truffles with pasta reminds me of a wild twist to a lemon rice soup only there's no rice here. But then there was Black rice fried impeccable, a twist to tadakh with black rice. The French burgundy wine flowed in complement to Capaccino with my soul mate chosing the duck. The fluffy baked Alaska will only make the entree whine for losing their spotlight.
