Excellent service and the food was very good. Limited menu due to covid but still very good. Will return.
Food Is generally great- five star
I had pancakes this time- they were just ok, Cracker Barrel doesn’t much better job with pancakes
The food and service are world class. We will definitely be back.
Likely the best dining experience I’ve had in Raleigh.
A most beautiful restaurant with quiet elegant ambiance!! The food for dinner as well as breakfast was perfect. Staff are equally lovely. Look forward to another visit. We felt very safe with their Covid protocols.
It was such a delight to have a fine dining experience again after months of not going out! Herons was a great first restaurant to go to; the service was exceptional, the food delicious, and ambience quiet - very unusual in today's modern, minimalist restaurants.
Still in shock how bad this experience was. I am a physician and also have celiac disease. Coming to Herons was a first-time out celebration since the beginning of the pandemic. Unfortunately I got glutened—and frankly, this part I don’t mind so much, it has happened even in the finest restaurants. However, what I do very much mind was the blatant disrespect of the restaurant manager, who went so far as to suggest I was wrong, that I as a woman do not know my own body, and no I had not been glutened in their restaurant because of the chef says there was no cross contamination, surely there wasn’t. Well, 5 days later and still sick, having had to not see a few patients this week due to having been badly glutened, I can tell you with absolute certainty that yes, I was glutened, and yes, I will ensure that the leadership across our major local academic hospital centers know just how little Herons values physicians, particularly female physicians, and their experience during a pandemic. Still in disbelief.
Anniversary lunch was a delight. Staff greeted us with felicitations, and we opted to start with fresh refreshing carrot ginger and mandarin turmeric juices. The entrees of tempura-crusted snapper with black garlic dashi and the lobster & butternut squash pappardelle and were out of this world—that was the best handmade pasta and sauce I can remember ever having. Portions were perfect. I want to recreate the honey wheat cornbread that arrived before our lunch—it was the perfect bite. They even recognized our special occasion with a hand-lettered chocolate. This was one for the books!
Great food and atmosphere. Wishing they would add back a few items to the menu from the past that we would go there for but overall very good.
We had a lovely dining experience at Heron's. The kale salad was amazing, as well as the Carolina chicken with savory bread pudding and leek cream sauce. My husband said the tenderloin with whipped potatoes was the best steak he had had in a while. The wine and drinks selection was top-notch, as well. Wonderful service, too!
Always my favorite restaurant for a nice romantic night out
Salmon was phenomenal and my wife’s halibut super as well!
Will definitely come back if in the area.
Even challenged by COVID, Heron's continues to excel. Wonderful meal as always!
The ambiance and decor were delightful as I remembered from pre-pandemic. I recognized some of the wait staff from earlier and the food was as good and as carefully prepared as I remembered. Thank you for being there.
I would have to call this restaurant heaven! Even though they are currently not doing their fancy four course tasting menu, the meal we had was just as elegant, beautifully presented and delicious as ever! My husband and I have traveled the world and are big foodies. Of all the places we have been, this is one of our favorites.
Great! Look forward to the pre-COVID menu
Very special place to enjoy a wonderful dining experience.
Heron's exceeded our expectations once again. It is a place we go to for special occasions and we will continue to do so. Amazing service, personable wait staff and a great overall dining experience.
Birthday celebration. My wife worked with the Pastry chef behind the scenes to produce and surprise me with a chocolate mousse caramel cake dessert. One of the best desserts I have ever experienced! Thank you Heron’s.
Food was excellent
I been here many times, always a great experience and food beyond delicious...however this time I was less than impressed, my salad had old lettuce in it, food was so salty and my dessert average.
Romantic place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Food was delicious. I enjoyed the unique salmon entree. It was served in quite a large low bowl, that seemed a bit unusual, with a spoon provided (for Emily Post's benefit!). I still used a fork because it was a bit testy to try to pry the salmon to a manageable portion with a soup spoon. The breads were excellent and fresh.
