love love love this place. Pork belly wonton soup and rabbit sausage were standouts on the menu. The staff does an amazing job of treating everyone like a special guest.
Table just never misses a beat ...
Great service in any sense, but given its 4.9 rating on opentable, I would have to say I was somewhat disappointed. Starting with oysters on pineapple dressing and Hamachi tartare, the appetizers were remarkably refreshing. The second course was wonton soup and the soup itself was good (9 out of 10 to the Chinese original), but the wonton was a little sour and chewy with unexpected spices making me felt like it might be a unusual attempt. For the main course, I had to admit my disappointment (I am really not a person give harsh reviews). The monkfish itself is palatable, however, the sauce surrounding was indescribable that combined several exotic spices making it so weird and hard to swallow. I guess for main course people usually do not want very audacious experiment as it's a big portion of the menu. The main course part was just too wild and robust (for both two dishes as my partner took the other). The chocolate marsquise at the end was honestly too salty that overwhelmed the sweetness of chocolate. In short, overall it might be the problem of the March menu, as the table has great feedback before, but as prix fixe menu (though not very expensive), I would expect something more mild and congruent.
Top notch in every aspect.
We loved our dinner! No regrets!
The Table at Season to Taste is a fabulous restaurant! With a tiny rickety looking kitchen Carl Dooley turns out creative and delicious food. If one goes there with another person, you can order everything on the menu and share. It is a delightful experience.
The Table is amazing. It’s our favorite restaurant and we look for every opportunity to go.
As always, out of this world. Fantastic!
Outstanding food across the board. Good variety of plates, all well prepared.
Food was amazing!! It just kept getting better dish after dish.. Service was fantastic, and even Chef Carl visited your table to deliver some special treats and to say hello. One of the best meals I’ve had!
Perfect all round. Not a thing to fault.
As usual, Chef Carl and his crew delivered an outstanding dining experience. The new all-inclusive pricing is a terrific idea, and executed flawlessly. We look forward to our next visit.
The service was very attentive but not hovering and excellent throughout the evening. Every question was answered, some very detailed especially where and how the venison was raised. The roasted venison mole was excellent as were the poached veal loin and tongue caesar and both desserts - Lemon Yozu Posst and the German Chocolate Cake. Carl Dooley is a very creative chef and each dish is unique and wonderful (Mary the pastry chef shined as well).
Book in advance--it's hard to get reservations at "normal" dinner hours so be sure to book in advance. They are a small neighborhood restaurant with a prix-fixe menu. I recommend getting the wine pairing to really enhance the experience. The food is fantastic and the wine pairings are a lot of fun. The service is great--they are very knowledgeable about both the food and wine so be sure to ask lots of questions. :) This is a great spot for a date night or other romantic occasion (or just a night out on the town). Come prepared to try some fun new food and flavor combinations.
The Table is small - 20 tables and their dining format is a 4 course tasting menu with a choice of 2 dishes for each course, with an optional wine pairing. We did the wine pairing and I heartily recommend it (though not if you are driving) - we learned about some very interesting new-to-us wines from our well informed waiter and it was obvious that they had been chosen with care to enhance the wonderful food.
There were 2 of us so we ordered one of each dish and shared so we could taste everything on the menu - there were no disappointments, everything was delicious and the presentation was impeccable. I particularly liked the portion sizes which allowed us to taste everything without feeling like we had overeaten - we left feeling satisfied rather than overly full.
This was an expensive meal, so definitely a location for special occasions - but worth every penny. We will definitely be back.
This place couldn't have been better. Small place on an area of Mass Ave that's down the road from a lot of places in the area.
It's a pretty focused prixe menu, but the food is outstanding and their recommended wine pairings have you trying new things that complement the food as well. Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff gives an overview on everything they bring, but not in a way that interrupts the meal or conversation. On the night we went dishes included a tuna sashimi and veal loin and tongue to start followed by smoked trout/ramen noodles and entrees of venison mole and shrimp boulebaisse. My wife and I split everything which worked out great.
You're definitely paying for how great this place is, but you'll get a really special night out of it.
The Table continues to hit it out of the park. Everytime we come the food is simply amazing, the staff is great, the wine pairings are on point. For modern high quality dining, its well priced with an every changing and diverse menu. It has become our go to place for amazing food experience in and around Boston.
We went to the restaurant to celebrate my niece’s birthday. . We felt we were experiencing an extraordinary cuisine in a very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely go back again and tell my friends what a fantastic restaurant this is
The food here is outstanding. Every dish we tried was innovative and delicious. Service is lovely and attentive. A great place for a quiet celebration.
Wonderful evening, the food was great and the wine pairings were on point.
One of our sons had dined at Table and highly recommend we try it. We were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly and everything we ate was creative and delicious. We can’t wait to return.
Why no Michelin star??? C’mon Boston!
This restaurant is outstanding, the food is superb and service excellent.
We sat at the counter and watched chef prepare, every course was something special and they regularly update the menu to keep people coming back.
Really good food & service. It’s a small plac but just outstanding.
Very clean, mind blowing flavors! Went there for my husband's birthday. We like how small and cozy this place is. Food is elegantly prepared and amazingly delicious.
Our go-to local gourmet dinner date-night. The food is always excellent, and we're excited to let them guide us.
The food was inventive, delicious, and well-portioned. The wine-by-the-glass list was expensive. A full bar would have been welcomed. The service was friendly, warm, and generous. I wish it were a bit less expensive.
My guest and I had a marvelous meal and a wonderful time. I had the wine pairing, and the server did an amazing job of describing each wine with enthusiasm and great detail. Her descriptions were almost a good enough reason to dine here. I asked her if she had trained as an actress, and she said "no." But I wonder.... The food was awesome. The wines were spectacular. The staff made us welcome and gave us a delightful evening experience.
Excellent four coarse tasting menu with two choices for each coarse. There are even a few extras courses added on. I sat at the counter and got to watch them prepare the meals which wa also fun.
My friends and I had a fantastic dinner! Everything was excellent from the service, to the menu choices, food, atmosphere - we couldn't have asked for a better evening. I think we're all looking forward to going back soon!!
One of the best meals I've had in a very long time, both for the delicious food and the dining experience. It's clear that they put a great deal of thought into all aspects of the meal. The little touches and relaxed but professional atmosphere made my family feel valued as customers. The staff were extremely knowledgable and welcoming. The food was incredible. I would elaborate more on the food but I don't think I could do it justice. Highly recommend.
Took my mother for her birthday. This may have been one of my all time favorite meals. The tasting menu included multiple "snacks" and amuse bouche that really filled out the main courses of the menu. There was not a single dud to be found across the of the breadth menu. Additionally they have moved to a gratuity included model which provides living wages to their servers which is something to be applauded. Finally I definitely heard J5 - What's Golden and I am 90% sure I heard Pidgeon John and Abstract Rude as well (the music wasn't so loud as to be intrusive but there is no way you can miss Chali 2na's flow) so their music is on point.
Amazing! Sit at the chefs counter if you have the option! Food, service and ambiance was amazing.
Amazing meal. Great service. Can’t wait to go back. Recommend highly
The service was great. Creative cuisine is contributed to by beautiful display and natural taste.
We'd been trying to get to this restaurant for a while and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was great.
So good food, cannot find any point to complaint about. The service was excellent, the wine pairing was to the point (background and the choice)
These people really care about food. They are creative but unpretentious. Everything is excellent but the sauces are perfection. Wine-pairings well chosen. Best restaurant west of Paris.
We arrived there earlier than our reservation. A few parties after our arrival got the tables or seats before us. After our reservation, we were still waiting for our table. We expected good management, tasty and creative foods, and good service. They failed the first one. The foods were bold and tasty. But we wanted more memorable foods. They also served extra sweets after the dessert. For us, they were not necessary (indeed, we did not finish all of them). The service was very good. Compared to other good and memorable restaurants, overall experience with this restaurant was 4.2 stars.
