The Table at Season To Taste Ratings and Reviews
We arrived there earlier than our reservation. A few parties after our arrival got the tables or seats before us. After our reservation, we were still waiting for our table. We expected good management, tasty and creative foods, and good service. They failed the first one. The foods were bold and tasty. But we wanted more memorable foods. They also served extra sweets after the dessert. For us, they were not necessary (indeed, we did not finish all of them). The service was very good. Compared to other good and memorable restaurants, overall experience with this restaurant was 4.2 stars.
Hesitant to write this because the secret's already out of the bag and now I have to wait three months to eat here but....
This place is a total gift to Cambridge and the city as a whole. Chef Dooly is the Picasso of comfort cuisine - rearanging ingredients, adding just a bit of color and abstraction, but never so much that when you step back you don't know what you're eating/looking at. The familiar becomes the subllime. Shhhh... dont' tell anyone.
Very cozy, small space with set menu, but choice from two in each category. We tried both in each and all excellent. Service excellent and knowledgeable with good wine list of little known choices well curated and well described by staff. Fine choice but a fair ride from town, about $19 with Uber.
We went to The Table for my birthday after getting recommendations for a good special occasion dining experience. The prix fixe menu is incredible, very filling, and extremely fun! We learned that they re-do the menu and the wine pairings every month, which is incredible! All of the dishes are very unique and delicious and the wine pairing is a must. Already thinking about coming back for my boyfriend's birthday!
The Table at Season to Taste was awesome! What a pleasant surprise. We were travelling to Boston on a family vacation over the holiday and found the wonderful reviews on Yelp. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation. On our 10 day foody vacation, my personal favorite! Everything was unique. Nothing was oversauced, overdone, simply perfect. Very unique ingredients, and incredible taste. The chefs, the owner, everyone was wonderful. Very quaint and personalized. We tried their "Brush" beverage, it was great! The Boar's head pasta was delicious as well as the Coq au vin and the scallops. Every course was so unique and every item was perfect! Would most definitely recommend. Only wish we had a restaurant this amazing close to home.
Arguably the best meal we have ever had. Everything was executed perfectly, and the depth of the sauces was amazing! This has become our go to restaurant for date nights. I always turn around and make another reservation right away once it gets booked so quickly.
I enjoyed an amazing meal cooked literally right in front of me. This is a tiny culinary treat with some of the best culinary talent in Boston. The open kitchen can get a little warm. My server was professional, polite and knowledgable. Parties of over four may want to make a different choice. Only negative was you can not have your nightly Nolet’s martini as there is no liquor service.
In-laws came to visit and offered to babysit so we could have a date night. I️ was happy to snag a 6pm Friday reservation earlier in the week! I️ had the lamb and carrot salad, turnip ravioli, beef loin, and apple sundae. My husband had the sashimi, rigatoni, beef loin, and chocolate dessert. Everything was phenomenal!
We went to celebrate a birthday. It was our first visit. We were given what I felt to be the best table in the place. The servers were exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful, communicative, and charming. The timing of the courses was aided by "gifts" of several quantities of delicious tastings along the way to fill in gaps while the kitchen was slammed. Everything was perfectly prepared, delicious, and interesting. I believe that this was the best meal I've had in many years. I was especially pleased by the "expensive red wine of the day." The only drawback of the restaurant is that it's a bit chilly on a cool evening before enough people arrive to warm it up. Be sure to dress warmly.
It is not the first experience. Unfortunately, the drawback is recurrent!
Individual dishes are remarkable in their "design": combination of ingredients and flavors.
However, they do not sum up to a dinner, despite the fact that full menu is the only available choice. The dishes compete with each other, particularly in their sequence, tastes , flavors, quantity, etc. etc. Three dishes, all very spicy, competing with each other rather than integrated into a meal.
Recommended, probably, only to people who are trying various combinations, only before a final dinner choice!
Quite expensive for the offer.
My second trip and I look forward to many more whenever I'm in Boston. Excellent service, drinks, and the courses progress like a delicious story you will want to experience over and over. The granola bar on the way out was a delicious reminder the following morning.
This is my favorite restaurant for a fancy date. We love ordering the full menu between the two of us and getting the wine pairings. They are generally interesting wines, well-matched to highlight the food. The pig's head/broccoli rabe/rigatoni was amazing. I could eat that every day.
Really enjoyed our meal. Would definitely recommend. A lot of care and imagination goes into the preparation of the food -we tasted everything by choosing four different courses on the prize fixe menu and then swapping - and there wasn’t a single disappointment. So many delicious flavors, and the little add-ons like the amuse gueule, and home baked seeded sourdough with cultured butter, or the wrapped up muesli bars to take away at the end (which saw me happily through a plane ride the next day). Look forward to returning.
The Table lived up to our high expectations. All the dishes were creative and excellent. The pacing of the meal was good. Servers friendly. Chef came around.
Each course had two choices. Between the two of us, we chose everything on the menu and shared, which we figured was a good way to maximize our experience. The only problem is that the different dishes came from different cultural roots, which made switching back and forth a little jarring. Having the whole menu come from a similar flavor palette would make the "eat the whole menu" idea more enjoyable. Or - even - not provide choices, and just go all in on chef's choice.
As an aging gay couple from California, all we can say is "WOW!" The food was nicely seasoned and presentation was excellent. We appreciated the friendliness of the staff; atmosphere is congenial making it easy to chat with other diners. We had a wonderful evening and will return
on our next visit to Boston. It is well worth the effort to visit this gem of an intimate place for great food. Thank you to the chef and staff for a wonderful evening!
Our waitress Kerri was everything you could expect, knowledgeable, efficient and patient, allowing you to proceed at your own pace. The meal is extending, sit back and enjoy, there is no rush. The food is not only delicious but totally unique, a surprise at every turn. Just when you think it is over along comes dessert. WOW. A tip of the cap to the entire staff, best meal in a long time.
