Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The food was superb and the service impeccable but the noise level made it impossible to hear the waitress introducing the menu specials or having a conversation with your dining partner. Perhaps it's a function of Saturday night but we tried dining later in the evening to no avail. It's unfortunate that our special occasion was something we remember for the wrong reason.
Arrived late for reserved time but was seated quickly as there were ample tables still available. Waited for a good 40 minutes after being seated and offered water. No bread, no taking orders or casual inquiry from the 2 waitresses. Had to call one of them over to ask for above things.
We had a lovely brunch for our anniversary. The food was wonderful--flaky croissants (although they could have been warmed up a bit), savory soup (onion for one, mushroom for the other), generous entrees (we loved the salmon), and delicious desserts. The service was understated, which was great--food and drinks served in a timely manner but not rushed. We love the atmosphere. We had a table with a view of the lake, and it's spectacular. Everything about this place made us happy! The bar would be a great place for a drink with friends, and the restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or for anytime. A gem worth the drive from Kenosha! Can't wait to return.
The indoor "porch" dining area was quite cool for our dining comfort, actually breezy on a December evening...we were moved to a different table which was only minimally better...didn't really want to wear my outdoor coat during dinner...but...
We were celebrating a birthday, and we were gifted with a "brownie with berries" for a dessert---we would much have preferred a different dessert, but no choice was given to us, nor were we asked if we wanted coffee or anything...the waitstaff just dropped off the brownie with two spoons and picked up the dessert menus without asking if we wanted anything else or different.
The rest of our meals were very good, just the dessert was disappointing.
Your restaurant is lovely! The decor is both sophisticated and functional. The view is spectacular and the staff are friendly and helpful. We always look forward to your Sunday brunch, which is a favorite with our out-of-town visitors, also. Our grandson was disappointed that steak frites were absent from the menu, but, he seemed to have a good time, nevertheless. Your restaurant is a real jewel! We love it!
This has become our 'Go To' restaurant for special occasions, especially our wedding anniversary - - - and it has never disappointed. On this visit the Menu du Chef featured locally produced pork in a variety of exceptional preparations - - - and it was delicious.
This is fine dining and excellent French style cooking in a romantic, attractive and convenient yet unique setting - - -a public park. It is also suitable for a classy business dinner.
Will return soon for the Coq Au Vin special on Wednesdays.
P.S. VG cocktails too and a considerable wine list.
We gathered with out of state friends who we hadn't seen in years, so we wanted a special place with great food & srvice with a beautiful ambience. It had been a while since our last visit. I must say the menu is not as great as we remember, and the Sea Bass portion which two of us ordered was ridiculously small. The worst of our experience was the quality of service. On previous visits the severs were highly polished and gave flawless service. This time we had Jen as our lead server, who was anything but polished and kept interjecting herself into our conversations. It was not welcome or appreciated. Less than stellar! We opted to go elesewhere for desert and after dinner drinks.
We celebrated our anniversary and an early New Year's Eve with close friends. It was fun to introduce the Bistro to folks who had never dined there before. Our meals were delicious and the courses were delivered with precision even though we all ordered very different meals. We have already made plans to meet at the Bistro for our next special event.
We went for our anniversary. Everything overall was very nice. Unfortunately, the Swiss chard with our lamb chops was gritty. Like it wasn't washed well, sandy. We let our waitress know, and she apologized and brought us some Brussel sprouts. They were ok, very charred. But lots of butter....
My husband's second lamb chop was very small, and a bit over cooked. It should never have been served, it had 3 rib bones too.
Brought us each a glass of champagne for our anniversary, and an extra dessert to make up for the Swisschard problem.
Service fabulous, beautiful place, overall food very nice.
Our server was beyond expectations - she described food in a way that made my mouth water and made me want to try unique food available at the time. She knew history of the venue and impact of current events. I hoped to host a memorable birthday celebration and she made that possible
Perfect! The location and the view is outstanding. The service was great and the waitress was very informative about the specials. The food was very good also. It was a outing of 5 friends who have been friends for 70 years and we stayed way pass the time of closing for lunch and no one hurried us along. It was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend to to others.
Lake Park Bistro remains one of my favorite places for brunch. I have never been a fan of the brunch buffet, so their ‘pick three’ menu (starter, entree and dessert) is perfectly suited to someone who wants hot food made to order and brought to the table. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was a bit slow, but reasonable considering all the tables seemed to be full. Honestly, we enjoyed the leisurely pace and used the time to enjoy each others company.
The location is a Milwaukee landmark overlooking Lake Michigan. It is situated on an actual park with beautiful views of the lake. The inside is fancy, but with a rustic charm. Food, beverages, and service are top notch. Prices are a bit higher, but not outrageous. Perfect for that special occasion or romantic getaway. A true bucket list place to visit in Milwaukee.
Had a wonderful Anniversary Experience having never been to the restaurant before but hearing great things. Our waitress Sarah B did an amazing job, all staff was very attentive, they even made a handmade card with a personalized Happy Anniversary note. Thanks for wonderful experience.
