    we told our server that we needed to leave for a performance ans she assured us that we would be out in less than 1.5. hours; however, service was slow (even though there was no one else there for the first hour) and we had to ask for the check while we were still eating, and rush to get to our event. By the time we left, the restaurant was really busy and noisy, so I guess they forgot our engagement....

    Overall a somewhat disappointing experience. Firstly service was a bit slow, it took a while for our order to be taken and the starters took too long. I also asked about the daily punch was and got told it was fruity and strong. I had to ask several more times to get the flavor, which was clearly my question. The food was tasty but several aspects were lacking. We had the beef ribs, beans, hush puppies and the duck breast. We missed on desserts as none caught our eye. The beef had way too much fat. Let me preface this by saying that we are lovers of fat and strongly believe in the ethos that fat is flavor; pork belly is a favorite, so this isn’t an issue with fat at all. However, the beef wasn’t properly trimmed. The portion of meat to fat was way off and we ended up leaving the about 1/4 plate full of fat at the end. Having said that, the glaze on the beef was delicious. The flavor of hushpuppies was good, but they were dry and dense. There was also nowhere near enough dip to go with the five large balls served. Three would have sufficed, and more dip should be provided. The beans were delicious, that was one of our highlights, but the toast served alongside was pointless. It was cut so thin that it served no purpose and became limp upon contact with the beans. Some slightly thicker cut toast, lightly grilled on either side, would have been much nicer. The duck dish was mixed. The duck itself was cooked well, the fat was lovely and rendered. However, the boudin was unbelievably salty. The flavor was really good though, but an error had definitely been made in the preparation. The potatoes were lovely, nice and crispy. However, the tomato and salad leaf garnish was pointless. They served no purpose on the plate. It felt like they had been thrown on last minute just for color. Some kind of roasted or pickled fruit and a bitter or punchy green would have been much nicer. It just felt clumsy. Overall we probably wouldn’t return or recommend.

    This one really delivers. Surely one of the best pork chops of my life and their buttermilk biscuits are really divine. The starters were also super-delicious and I really loved the extremely attentive service and the nice atmosphere.

    Wonderful restaurant, we split the pork chop and it was wonderful. The biscuits were great as was our carrot cake dessert. Staff were friendly and service was excellent, we look forward to returning.

    We sat at the bar, took the bartender’s advice on food and let them do the course determination. Every single thing (and we had six) was delicious. Started with the crudo and tomato courses, absolutely delicious. Get them both. Second round was the beef belly and the hush puppies. Third was the blackened fish main and a biscuit with honey butter. Dear god, don’t sleep on those. The rice under the fish is a bit risotto tasting, so adding the honey butter from the biscuit gives it a dessert quality and was perfect when you can’t fit an actual dessert in you at that point. For two people, this was plenty of food and nothing was wasted. The bar staff was fantastic and if you enjoy watching craft cocktails being made, sit at the bar. It’s quiet and you get a front row seat to that level of detail. This is one of those restaurants we’d been meaning to try forever and kept forgetting about. We had tickets for a show nearby and looking up close restaurants, this came up and reminded me we still hadn’t been. We won’t be making that mistake again. If you’re into local food/purveyors, southern cuisine, craft cocktails with intention but without pretension, go here. We will definitely be back.

    This was my 4th time at Olamaie and they never disappoint! I took my bf for his first experience and he's now a fan. From the excited greeting upon our arrival to ordering unique cocktails and the entire dinner experience, everything was perfect! The pork chops are absolutely the best I've ever eaten! Highly recommend!

    We had an incredible night out at Olamaie! We felt welcome from the very beginning. Everyone was so warm and inviting. The space had a very relaxed and cozy feel to it. Our server helped us with the menu and made great recommendations. Everything we had - from the starters to the dessert - was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

    Walking into this almost hidden little house you are immediately welcomed by friendly staff. My friend and I had a wonderful experience from the hostess to the wait staff to the delicious drinks to the decadent food. Our waiter was extremely helpful in helping us decide what and how much to order and talked us through how to eat each dish for the optimal experience. The fact that this is farm-to-table adds bonus points, and with a constantly changing menu, I definitely will be back! I highly recommend the dayboat fish (which I hear is one of their only mainstays, changing the fish by catch of the day/season) - the rissotto was to die for.

    We love Olamaie. The quality of the mains was terrible. The duck was not scored to render the fat. It was inedible. The porkchop was not seasoned. The lamb was over cooked and dry. Your butter beans were once my favorites but they have changed and not in a good way. I have recommended this experience many times to many friends and do not think we will return. The waiter didn’t ask how our food was so I remained quiet but wanted to inform management that for the price point, I could have had two meals at another restaurant. Total Disappointment.

    Everything was outstanding, starting with the biscuits. Grilled eggplant, shrimp and fish dishes were notable. It's a bit noisy, but that seems to be the trend in restaurants these days.

    Service could not have been any better. Only downside on the food was a tough string or line in the duck breast but the flavors were great. We loved the biscuits and honey butter. Lamb terrine was also excellent. Portion sized on the lamb and duck were small for the cost and that is the only knock. Parking in the area is limited so allow time to park.

    Really wonderful spot (cannot wait to go again when it cools down so we can enjoy the patio)! I ordered a touch incorrectly and wasn't happy with my dish, but the dish itself was only pretty good. My husband ordered perfectly, and his meal was divine! The service was great, awesome pacing and attentive-yet-giving-space... Our server was just a touch too... earnest and over the top. Her sincerity was lovely, but it was a touch uncomfortable after a few minutes in. Will 100% go back though -- absolutely worth trying for yourself!

    Love that the menu changes seasonally. Right now the pork chop, hush puppies, beef belly and biscuits were spot on. The duck was a bit chewy and difficult to cut though it had good flavor. Maybe skip that one. Carrot cake was also delicious and not too sweet. As always the service was great!

    Everything about our dinner was excellent from the service to the food to the wine…absolutely outstanding. Servers were amazing. We had two…think one was in training. Think the main server was Graham and other was Faith, but honestly, not sure. Shame on me, because they were awesome. Whoever had the corner table at 5pm, Thursday, August 17th…fabulous. Had the pork chops and fish…so good. Going T 5pm was perfect. Not crowded. Not loud. Service amazing. Food amazing. Definitely going back PS. Our doodles loved the pork chop bones!

    Really great place in every aspect. They even put a card at our table saying Happy Anniversary and we had a complementary glass of champagne before we ordered. Their website is very clear on what to expect when dining there. It's not a thing you can do even every month for us, but for special occasions, it fits the bill.

    Nice atmosphere at this place. No sound absorption though, so it can be a bit noisy (as most places are these days). The food is a bit too experimental for me. But that may be your thing. The hush puppies were pretty good. The heirloom tomatoes were tasty, tho the whipped buttermilk was a bit too whipped for me. The fish is excellent, best thing we had. But the gumbo was bad - tasted burnt or overly smoked… And expensive for what it is (vegan). Overall, expensive for just pretty good food. And we both left feeling bloated and had stomach aches all night.
