This place used to sing a song that no other Italian spot in the city sung. I don’t know what happened but it’s just not there anymore. The pandemic has changed a lot of places but the contrast here is too great to reconcile. The food was as if a 36 year old white woman from a LA suburb had a fantasy of how she wanted Italian food, and here we are… So saddened by this departure for quality and character. I hope they correct course.
Still a fantastic meal with fantastic service!
Amazing service. I want to thank the waiter for keeping an item I left behind and contacting me.
amazing evening
Always great!
Great attentive service and excellent food.
Amazing service, very knowledgeable, warm and friendly. Excellent food as always…
My husband and I used to come here for date nights and dinner with friends before we had kids. This time we came for a celebratory dinner with our two children. Our 11 year old just graduated from elementary school. The food was delicious, our server was very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was lovely. I purposefully made an early reservation (5:30 pm), so as not to infringe on the date/adult crowd that fills up by 7pm. However, when we arrived we were greeted by a sour-faced young hostess who seemed annoyed by my request for a table inside. She was trying to put us in the sidewalk seating, which on an 80 degree day as the sun is shining, can be quite hot. She told us she needed to see if she could accommodate us. Since the restaurant had just opened at 5, there was plenty of indoor dining available, but she made it seem like this was an unreasonable ask. Fortunately, her coworker (or perhaps manager), told her to seat us inside. We had a lovely meal, but the hostess did not even acknowledge us or say thank you, goodnight as we left.
This is a great local spot in Tribeca. We went for my daughter's 21st and it did not disappoint. The staff was very professional, and if you want serious wine advice you can speak with the sommelier. It is pricey and the food, although solid, no foodie is going to swoon. That being said, it's more of a guarantee that you will get good food, great service and in a fun part of Tribeca.
Muy buen restaurante y tienen opciones para gente Gluten free
Excellent pasta, NY strip and salads. The halibut was fresh and well prepared.
Gabby was extremely proactive and friendly. Two thumbs up from the minute we walked in. The food was outstanding. Highly Recommend !
The service wasn’t as great as before. A long wait for food even though they were still delicious.
Took my friend out for a birthday brunch here, right after we did massages at the hotel’s Shubui spa. Absolutely delicious meal and the perfect follow up to the morning’s bodywork. Every dish was exquisite - the only one that left a bit to be desired was the steak tartare Piemontese. It wasn’t very flavorful and the waygu didn’t shine at all. But that aside, I could eat the truffle whipped ricotta every single day for the rest of my life, and they didn’t skimp on the bread, and brought plenty of gluten free toast for me separately as well. My shrimp scampi grits were to die for, as were my friend’s lemon ricotta pancakes - wish those were gf too because they looked heavenly! I’ll admit I tried a bit of the lemon curd cream and it was velvety and rich.
For drinks, we stuck to iced coffees which were great—unfortunately (and surprisingly) they don’t do any specialty drinks, not even a matcha latte for example. Still, that aside, it was a phenomenal meal and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Mother’s Day brunch
Mother’s Day
Outdoor seating was poorly attended. Half of our food never came but was on the check. Noone stopped by our table to check on us.
after a year of not dining at Locanda Verde it was thrilling to get back. The restaurant updated its menu and all the dishes are delicious
A delightful Saturday brunch with some friends 😍Delicious food and excellent food. Also, a considered & safe inside dining experience. Thank you 😊
Service left much to be desired. The waitress was largely inattentive. We ordered appetizers, but she didn’t suggest that dinner would take considerable time until the appetizers had long been finished. It would have been nice to have been told that while we had the apps. Additionally, we asked for napkins, an additional wine glass, etc never showed up. Had to repeatedly flag down bus boys to get the waitress, or simply just to retrieve what we had asked for. Food wasn’t good either - not on par with previous experiences. Lousy experience overall, and will think twice before booking again.
The ricotta and grilled bread are a must!
The food is ok, but overpriced. The ambiance and decor feels more like a chain restaurant—like the smith—than the kind of restaurant it thinks itself to be.
The service was also ok—the first courses came out immediately, which means the dishes were not freshly made, and then the pasta and mains came out at the same time, which makes no sense. We asked to have the mains come back after we finished our pasta, but then ended up waiting about 30-45 minutes for them to come back. The hostess was very nice and noticed the situation and gave us a free glass of wine, which was much appreciated.
Overall, the experience was underwhelming.
Excellent as usual. Food and service are outstanding. Best restaurant in Tribeca.
Went for brunch. Food preparation and presentation are excellent. Brunch cocktail menu is nicely thought out. Loved the relaxed atmosphere.
Love. Love, love this place. It’s one of my favorite Italian go to’s! And I’m astatic it survived this pandemic!! Food, service and people are amazing!
The occupancy was not as recommended by NYS
The service was slow and not attentive.
The brunch menu leaves a lot to be desired. I was pretty disappointed, and the food came out after 45 minutes. The server comped the drinks, but still didn’t make up for a very average meal.
Locanda remains very consistent at a very high level, great food and service !
Highly recommend the steak tartare and cacio e pepe dishes!
Wonderful food & service!
Amazing pasta! Service was quick. A nice rustic ambiance for a date or group dinner. It can get loud on a busy Friday night and seats are close so if you have a loud neighbor, expect to yell to be heard. If you’re looking for a little more quiet, go for an earlier dinner. Menu is pricey, but the pasta is tasty! A few vegetarian options for dinner.
The table staff rushed us from the moment we sat down. One staff member, who began clearing the table, actually took the fork out of my hand while our appetizers remained on the table. At one point, when my friend got up to use the restroom one of the staff tried to remove his chair .. his meal was still on the table!! Some employees are really great, while other are absolutely terrible. This has unfortunately become a regular occurrence and it is a bummer because I love this restaurant.
Great meal and waiter and stafanos drinks at the bar were great
We had a wonderful evening. Exceptional customer service, delicious plates. One of our favourite restaurant experiences.
Delicious pasta beautiful room
Highly recommended. Steak tartare excellent with a hint of truffle. Burrata had nice texture. The seafood pasta was incredible. Beef cheek tender but a little salty.
There is a reason that this place is still slammed at 930pm.
The food was amazing; it stands out in a mecca of good Italian restaurants. My only complaint was that it sort of ruined the rest of the Italian food I ate on my trip, nothing could compare. My first thought on receiving the appetizer and then again on receiving the entree was that the portions seemed a little small, but after a few bites of just rich, wonderful food, I realized if anything it was more than I could finish. We had the steak tartare and I had the oricchiette with the duck sausage and I am still thinking of both dishes days later. My husband and I consulted with the sommelier, and she helped us find a bottle of wine from the region in Italy where we honeymooned, which made the evening just that more special. Such a wonderful place.
Terrible experience at Locanda Verde! The food took 1 hour to arrive, then both fish dishes were cold and overcooked. My daughter’s pasta was al dente, but forgettable. The lasagna with truffles was nice but cold. A restaurant with such good reviews should not have this happen, especially at this price point. The only saving grace was the server, who was very nice and helpful.
Very mediocre pasta. Not sure what the rave is, but I won’t be back not even if I’m in the neighborhood
Always enjoy my time and food at Locanda Verde! Great spot for brunch.
