Been here many times over the years. Now come with friends to celebrate birthdays. Always excellent food, and service.
As always fantastic! Would highly recommend for a special night out.
the dining room is quite small and the noise level increases with time. we had an early dinner reservation (6 pm) which was nice. could barely hear by 7:00pm. it was a very nice meal despite the noise.
Great place! I'm no professional reviewer; just someone who likes to eat out on occasion. My wife and I went here with another couple, and we had a lovely time. Great food, great service, and a wonderful experience. We'd definitely do it again.
For the supposedly top-rated Italian restaurant in the Milwaukee-area, dinner was disappointing. Had a Caesar salad with anchovies which was good; pasta with ham, peas, and cheese which could have been warmer and some of the peas were a bit crunchy; a veal entree which you needed to cut with a knife but was tasty; and a sea-salt caramel pudding with a chocolate ganache which was more of a vanilla pudding with a chocolate pudding on top, i.e., very little caramel flavor, no salt, and so-so chocolate. Also had one glass of pinot grigio. Service was attentive. Very noisy people seated at a table close by. Total bill was $100.
My husband and I went for our anniversary. The service and food were wonderful. We would certainly return.
Fantastic restaurant. The manhattan I got was really strong in a good way.
Nice dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Took way too long to try and locate a bottle of wine or a close substitute we were looking for. When we decided to go to wine by the glass, shazam! the bottle of wine appeared. Very good food quality. Very crowded and loud, almost sitting on top of each other, but reminded me of our trip to Rome! Would gladly go back, just not sure it had the hype that we had remembered in our past visits.
Went their for my sons birthday with a party of 7. Great wine selection and the food was amazing...might be my new favorite place!
Best Italian fine dining in the greater Milwaukee area
I cannot say enough good things abut our experience! The wait staff was very attentive and the food was great! Highly recommend the duck ragu!
This was the first time my husband and I have dined at a Bartolotta restaurant so I had no idea what to expect aside from we would be having Italian food.
WOW, is the first thing that comes to my mind!!!
The fact that we shared 4 items from the menu (SCAMORZA AFFUMICATA IN COCCIO, RAVIOLI DI RICOTTA DI PECORA CON SALSA ALLE NOCI, FILETTO DI MANZO ALLA PERLA NERA DI NORCIA and RISOTTO MANTECATO ALLO ZAFFERANO E TARTUFO) and not a single crumb was left on either of our plates says it all!!!! The food was absolutely amazing and left you to only wonder what the next plates would bring to your tastebuds....
Our servers were an attribute to the meal with the recommendations they made and the attention paid to our table. Thank You!
OK, so being that food is my all-time favorite experience. I would've only improved the night by these two small items: Oil and herb with the bread (I did ask for it and had no problem getting it which was wonderful) and while understanding the small space it was next to impossible not to hear at least two of the tables conversations near us.....
We will definitely return and try new items soon!!
Always fantastic. All special days are celebrated here. The duck ragu is a personal favorite and hard not to order every time. The chicken dish is also fantastic. The Carmel pudding and tarimisu are a must
We had an amazing dining experience!
Excellent food and drinks in a very cozy place. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable on wine and the food options. Excellent service.
The food was outstanding and Cindy our wait staff was wonderful.
Enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner at my favorite of the Bartolotta restaurants. Service was impeccable, food delicious as always. We were allowed to linger well after we should have left, without any suggestion to depart received from the staff. A delightful place to celebrate a special occasion!
great food great service-Sam was an excellant waiter!
Grand experience for my first visit.
They have the best calamari in the Midwest. I would have rated them higher but my veal scallopine was tough as was my sister's beef. We'll certainly return. Next time I'll order pasta.
Everything was just perfect.
Creative Italian specialties. Extensive wine list. Good service. A little noisy. Avoid nearby large groups.
Excellent food and service. Attentive staff. Clean room, a bit crowded in the rather small room.
Quaint restaurant with attentive servers and excellent food.
I had the lamb and my husband had pasta. The food was excellent!
We went there for Valentine's Day. The service and food were excellent. We chose the Filet with Lobster with a Cesar salad. All of it was prepared to our liking and delicious.
The restaurant is super cramped and it is like you are eating with strangers. In fact, the lady next to us was constantly trying to chat with me while my husband and I were trying to enjoy our Valentine’s Day dinner. The service was exceptional. The food was pretty so so.
Celebrating three birthdays in old Wauwatosa's RBs. Frigid outside, but Greta lit up the room serving a standing-room only group of patrons. The tables are close but private enough to carry on a conversation even with a bit of noise, but not so bad. It's a small, old fashioned Italian restaurant (first of a family chain), the kind you'd expect in a Brooklyn neighborhood. We sampled everything or close to it. Prosciotto from Parma and Friuli (excellent). Calamari. Cesare salad (rather average). The Pappardelle is one of the best items on the menu -- and that's saying a great deal. My scalllopine di Vitello was superb. The lamb was delicious at medium rare. Daughter-in-law thought it was too salty so they moved quickly to replace it. Now that's a great restaurant. Gratis desserts of tiramisu and affogato. Happy B'day you three.
We always have an excellent dining experience . That’s why we keep going back.
Always great food and service and an amazing wine list.
Great date night. Food was delicious and it was really nice to find an Italian restaurant that accommodates a gluten allergy. Also, Katie and Megan were great servers with excellent food recommendations.
Great. Lots of options and all fantastic.
We really enjoyed our evening. The food was fantastic. The service was great. We’ll be back!
It was amazing- our waiter Sam was absolutely outstanding. He did an excellent job of recommending a great wine and fabulous dishes.
Tony and Peter - their service was outstanding. It was our first visit and we raved about the experience.
Everything about our evening at Ristorante Bartolotta was excellent. The service was great, our cocktails were wonderful, and the food was superb. We look forward to visiting another Bartolotta restaurant soon!
Fabulous food and experience! I love all the Bartolotta restaurants - food is always amazing and the service is exceptional. Never disappoints!
We have always enjoyed Ristorante Bartolotta, but this time we were disappointed. The service was not as attentive as it has been in the past, and although the food was good, it was also not up to par. It will be awhile before we go back.
We had a lovely evening, thank you! The food was amazing and as a non drinker appreciated that you carry a non alchohol beer.
Underwhelmed by the experience. Service was excellent, but menu was much more basic than what I'm accustomed to at Bartolotta-owned venues. The restaurant has lost some of it's uniqueness over the years. It's been a number of years since I had eaten there and whereas the restaurant seemed more upscale in the past, the ambience and menu seemed more akin to a local food joint, but at upscale "downtown" prices. I feel no motivation to return again any time soon
We were treated to flutes of prosecco upon arriving to celebrate our anniversary; I had told them what we were celebrating when making our reservation. Food was amazing. Melt in your mouth calamari. Homemade bread. Savory duck ragu, house speciality. Tables are close to one another but not intrusive. Feels like being in Italy.
