The view at Talavera is amazing! We really enjoyed watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The menu looked great, but the food preparation was lacking. We ordered the grilled octopus to start, and it was actually very good. Then we ordered the seafood paella, and it did not live up to expectations because the flavor was very bland. For the last course we ordered the filet, and it was over cooked and dry. I would recommend the restaurant for an amazing view, but the food was average at best and overpriced.

I had reservations at 703 Main in Payson for my wife’s birthday on 3/15. The reservation was made months ago. I drove for two hours to have dinner only to find out they are out of business. No one from the restaurant or opentable had the decency to contact me to spare me the four hour round trip for nothing. Fortunately, when we got back to Scottsdale, Talavera was able to accommodate us and turned a disaster into a very pleasant experience.

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years and oh dear what have they done to it. Waiting staff young and ill trained. Menu unintelligible with no explanation from the waitress. Food verging on amateurish, will regrettably strike Talavera from our must visit list.

Excellent experience and wonderful service within a beautiful setting. One large group at a table behind us was very loud and boisterous, but otherwise it was a perfect evening.

I expected a nice lamb chop dinner and I received a lamb shank dinner. It tasted like an Osso Bucco pork shank. I celebrating my birthday so it was disappointing.

The ambience is wonderful and the service was terrific. The appetizers - particularly the octopus and the lamb meatballs were very good but the steaks were average. We both had beef - the filet mignon had a Manchego cheese/panko crust which wasn’t very good and the rib eye was smothered in chimichurri sauce which I normally like but this had way too much lime which overpowered the flavor of the ribeye - ask for it on 5he side and use it sparingly if you want to taste your steak.

Very disappointed on the service we received from our waiter for our 21st wedding anniversary. We drove 35 minutes to Talavera for the beautiful view, I made sure we included in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. We were given the worst table in the corner next to the kitchen. So sad. Once we received our dinner, our waiter never came back. We saw him tending to another table of four next to us, very attentive with them. I hope this was not a color/race thing because the table of 4 was white and we are not. We asked the bus/water boy to clean off our table before ordering dessert, asked for dessert plates after we had to yell out to our waiter as he was passing by, if we could see the dessert menu. Definitely not what we are used to. This is a 4 Seasons hotel, they really should work on waitstaff training. The manager came by to congratulate us on our anniversary and asked how our experience was, we informed him and he was apologetic and took off our dessert and bottle of wine from our ticket.

Lovely experience! Ordered Two cheeses and pan con tomate, which were both amazing. My husband got the C.A.B filet and I ordered the seafood paella, both amazing. Finally, you must get the cinnamon churros for dessert. They are ridiculous! Beautiful view and great service. Really had it all.

It was Valentine's Day and there was a prefix menu with flamenco guitar asts and dancers performing. A very pleasant evening began with top us in the reception area and then we took our seats unfortunately our reservation was the last of the evening in the show only lasted for another 5 minutes or so. The food was awesome. The service was awesome. Don't take the last reservation.

A really great experience at a truly unique restaurant for a hotel restaurant. Despite it being Valentine's Day, which can sometimes be the worst time to visit a restaurant, the staff went out of their way to deliver terrific service and delicious food.

Truly upscale dining. We are jaundiced about expensive dinners, but Talavera offers a unique menu, attentive but not intrusive service, and excellent food. Many offerings are perfect to share. Loved the beet salad. The arepas were delicious, but not street style arepas-a hard shell orb surrounding duck confit. The chicken in the paella is something I would want in any presentation. No sofrito in the paella pan.... oh well. The vegetable sides are generous- check with your server about portion size. Enjoyed the passion fruit cheesecake with jellied gin cubes (!) as well as the almond and apple tart. Tables are spaced enough that the room isn’t too loud-we could truly converse. Looking forward to another dinner here.

It was a special evening for us. Beautiful views, next to the outside fire (but inside) and an outstanding meal with excellent service. We loved it and will return for sure.

Food was SO overpriced. It was good but not worth the money for the quantity or taste. I went to another restaurant in a similar price range that was a much better meal. Not hating though, the food was GREAT. The service was great and very friendly. It's a loud restaurant with a beautiful view. The atmosphere and general experience was great. It was an amazing night out. Andre was a very good server and explained the menu very clearly to us and was kind and did an excellent job. Definitely would recommend going to this restaurant for a nice meal with a couple of friends.

We arrived early on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised by the live flamenco guitarist setting the mood for an overall wonderful evening. Seated by the glass with stunning views of the valley sunset with warm, attentive service from Risha and Travis our meals exceeded expectations. We shared the whole prawns tapas, Spanish influenced entrees of seared scollops and the seafood paella and finished with the chef's delicious seasonally-inspired desert.

What a great experience Talavera was! The views of course — but the attentive service and great food along with those views is what made it such a wonderful evening. As I state in all my reviews --- my threshold is would I go back and/or recommend it to friend or colleague? That answer is resounding yes — as long as you are willing to make the trip up the mountain. Well worth it for sure!

I have been looking for good Spanish food for a long time and this came as close to the real deal.

We recently celebrated our adult daughter's birthday at Talavera. We were very favorably impressed with the the entire experience. The new decor was beautiful and comfortable and the new menu offered interesting fare. The wait staff was attentive and the chef easily accommodated a food restriction for one person. Everyone enjoyed their choices along with the complimentary variety of delicious birthday desserts.

We love love love televarra this was our third visit and am addicted to the lamb meatballs
Just the wright mix of casual yet upscale love that we live close and can go often. Will be back soon

We love the makeover that occurred last year. Nothing wrong previously but really like the vibe and menu since the change. Nothing ever bad at the Four Seasons! Highly recommend if you are in the North Scottsdale area or even if you have to drive quite a bit. Will be dining there again next year when in town! Awesome views as well
