Had a birthday dinner and everything was spectacular, and the staff so much fun and professional.
Wonderful and memorable experience, definitely will recommend to friends and family. They took the time to surprise my date for their birthday, was an awesome touch!
The paella was the star of the show!
Loved the new cuisine and interior decorations. Only downfall was the food was all on the slightly salty side!
Two of us ordered paella. There was no crusty bottom and the rice was flavorless. Very dissatisfied.
The food was unique and very tasty. The waiter knew how each meal was intricately prepared. He served us at a pace that allowed for savorying each unique dish. Beautiful views from this restaurant as well. Great evening of dining.
New tapas restaurant. Excellent Spanish cheeses, paella’s, grilled octopus, and wine. A wonderful addition to our North Scottsdale restaurants since the days of Sol y Sombra.
Food awesome as was service. Screaming baby during 99% of our meal. Think for the price and level of detail the family should have been asked to take child for a short walk.
Expensive restaurant that only delivers in a few areas. Many better choices in North Scottsdale.
Celebrated my husbands birthday! Great service and outstanding food. Great to meet the chef. She was very kind with her time speaking to us.
Food was way overpriced for the quality of the food. Will not be returning, Do not recommend it. Had to wait along time to be seated because of s staff meeting. Then we’re seated by a post so our view was terrible. Plenty of open seats were available.
Excellent experience, Christmas dinner buffet, it was perfect. Service was amazing
The redo of the dining room is ultra modern, and the resulting noise level of wood floors, stucco walls, conversations and background music make it very difficult to carry on a conversation. The food is Hispanic fusion (or some such cutesy name) and the menu is nothing but that - obviously designed for presentation and uniqueness. We live nearby and liked the previous menu and decor - but we are not the target audience of hotel guests looking for a Southwest experience. It is very pricey. When the weather is warm, dining on the patio is a better choice than inside.
Disappointed. We loved coming for special occasions and Christmas Eve every year. Has become more casual and the service is not what it was last year. They did a remodel and menu change and the menu is difficult to understand. The patio is now so brightly lit it is hard on the eyes and makes it difficult to see the amazing view. Steak had to be sent back after a very long wait for our meal. No dedicated server and we had to ask for things. At this price per plate I expect better. We will not be back.
Everything was wonderful, the staff, the paella, all of it.
Lovely atmosphere, great view, ambience. Food was good and different. I would say it’s an American interpretation of Spanish.
This place is always perfect! Wonderful sunsets, service and food. We’ve never been disappointed.
My wife and I have frequented Talavera, even the old Acacia days for special occasions, bringing out of town guests, etc. for years now. Sad to say, we won't be back.
I should have looked at the website/menu first prior to booking for my birthday celebration. The menu, interiors, wait staff have all changed since we last dined in March '18 (our special occasion place). I'm not averse to change, its just that high-end Spanish tapas isn't my thing.
The menu has changed (with a few steaks on the menu). My wife and I were disappointed with the menu and the food in general - even the wedge salad and amazing bread with sea salt butter are gone (the steak, wine and service was phenomenal, however).
The interiors have changed too. Not a fan of the new vibe - the old was much nicer, in my opinion. If high-end Spanish tapas is your thing, then the Talavera is your place. Unfortunately I'm not the judge of great tapas, so it's hard to say.
Big changes since our last dinner there one year prior. The dining room had been renovated and the intimate ambiance was lost. The service was pleasant but much more casual than in the past. The food was good but portions were small, particularly considering the cost. We especially missed the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings option. This was our annual special occasion spot. Sadly, we will have to look elsewhere next year.
Excellent service an food. Dinner will never disappoint. We dined on the patio with gorgeous views over the city lights. A true luxury experience.
The food was good. I just don’t like to have to pay for bread! It was a little too over-the-top for my taste.
The waiter was good, but we didn’t understand half the things we were ordering. He needed to give us the explanations about the food in English, not Spanish.
The restaurant has changed to a mostly spanish style restaurant more than a steakhouse. This has NOT done them well! Wines are good but very pricey and a four ounce pour at most. Traditional salad with sliced apple was very tasty, however small and expensive! Grilled octopus was also very flavorful but extremely small!(one piece). Our ribsteak arrived at room temperature as did our baby potato dish. Both had to be returned. The baby potato dish was disgusting! Also not descibed well by wait staff. SeaBream was delicious but about 3-4 ounces tops. The restsurant also has taken away any bread or other offering prior to the meal. Very disappointing for a highly rated restaurant with a big price tag. Suggest they start from scratch! Expect to spend $200 plus for dinner here. Much better offerings in the area! Expect to stop off somewhere on the way out for a hamburger !!
This place was spectacular. I loved everything about it. Definitely has ambiance perfected.
Main dishes were not satisfactory. Everything else was great, but when the main dish is not great it does not matter.
You can not beat the view! Exceptional, especially if you can get there for sunset. Service was ok, as our server seemed to lack some menu knowledge. Food in addition was ok, not bad, but not mind blowing either. Octopus I feel was my favorite thing. I was celebrating a belated birthday, and they did give a complementary dessert, so that was a nice touch.
Four Seasons resident owners for 18 years. We’ve seen this restaurant through many iterations. This menu is the BEST! Wonderful, sophisticated flavors. Simple, fresh ingredients. Everything we tried was amazing! We made our Tuesday reservation at the table Saturday night. Welcome to the new chef!
Love new concept. An overall different food experience very tasty. Love the lamb meatballs and basque cake for dessert yummy
We have gone to Talavera around the holidays each year for the past 3 years. We went last night. Sadly, we won't be returning. Between inattentive service, short pours on overpriced drinks, and a menu that has changed dramatically there is no reason to return.
Excellent dinner, service and ambiance. Definitely a new spot we will visit frequently.
Had the lamb shank and it was absolutely amazing.
The service was outstanding. The menu changed recently to a Spanish menu.
We love Spanish food, and took our server's recommendations on the best menu items in the categories we were interested in enjoying. The food was not as good as we expected from a Four Seasons restaurant. The best thing we had was the pan de queso. The Spiced Lamb Meatballs next best. The Pulpo a la Plancha was just ok, and we love octopus. The jamon serrano had a lot of gristle. We decided not to order an entree at this point, so maybe we missed out on more enjoyable menu items.
The wine was outstanding, and a much better value than expected, as normally, markup would be much higher at a restaurant like this. I would go back for a bottle of wine and a nice view, but not as excited about the food.
With a new chef, menu and decor I feel the restaurant has taken a large step backward in all areas. Our waiter seemed almost unfamiliar with parts of the menu, most of the food was good, but not up to the standard we expected, and the decor is part Restoration Hardware, part cafeteria. With all of these factors, not a restaurant we'll return to, despite being 1/2 mile away.
the view was fantastic and food was excellent. It was birthday dinner for my daughter, and she was very pleased with everything.
The food was salty. The waiter was a bit rude and talked too much. Too dark inside. They changed their menu and theme. Now the place is quite poor. Terrible value for the expensive food. Sorry Talavera. You used to be great, now it stinks (technical term).
Food and service was good, but for this place being the nicest place to eat onsite at the resort, there should have been more ambiance. I was picturing a breath taking scenic view of the mountains with amazing first class food and service, fun music etc. instead there was Disney music and movies blasting loudly from below that was very distracting and not at all peaceful when we were trying to escape for a night away from our kids. I would not recommend this place to people dealing a nice high end meal. We moved tables (a different table left completely) and still the Disney noise was distracting.
This was a thanksgiving buffet , as buffets go it was nice. I have discovered that buffets have usually bland food so that they can cater to most tastes. This was the case, I would like to try their normal menu to get a true taste of the food.
Great ambiance! Service is fantastic! Our go to holiday dining destination!
Thanksgiving buffet was amazing. Our party of four enjoyed oysters, shrimp, scallop ceviche, crab/mango/avocado cocktail, charcuterie, wild mushroom risotto, salmon, prime rib and of course, turkey. Everything was beautifully presented. A wonderful experience.
