Very disappointing compared with previous visits to the restaurant. The scallops were gritty; salmon very plain and the octopus appetizer was meager. The server was lost in space. The manager tried to make amends but his was always a very well enjoyed dining experience. No this time.
The restaurant was phenomenal. The staff was very accommodating, the food was lovely and you can’t beat the ambience. We even saw a Hollywood actor dining during out visit. It was my birthday and Talavera makes special occasions amazing.
What the heck happened to this place?? Our experience was horrible. The new menu is also horrible. The rib eye was dry and tough. The bronzino was tasty but extremely oily and for $60 it was absurd. Really, $60 for a piece and fish covered in oil? Nothing else on the plate. The side order of asparagus had 5 stalks. Outrageous even for the four seasons. The service was horrible. We were there for my wife’s bday and they did nothing to acknowledge the birthday. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK. A shame.
If you want great seafood, go to ocean prime. If you want great steaks go to Mastros. Avoid Talavera!!!!
Went to Talavera for the first time after decor and menu redone. Food quite good with varied Spanish menu. Only problem was that it was special occasion that they completely forgot. I told them it was my wifes birthday when I confirmed. After a very enjoyable salad and entree they asked about dessert. I requested a candle on the cake I ordered and they forgot. When I asked again they forgot again. They finally brought out a candle after a third reminder. On taking a pole of the table on whether we would return everyone said yes with some hesitation not due to quality of the food but more due to noise in the room and service quality.
I love how they have redone the restaurant and menu. Chef Samantha Sanz has brought Spanish cuisine in a most wonderful way to Scottsdale. As always exceptional service and a wonderful spot for a birthday or anniversary celebration. Try the Summer in Seville Special-It's delicious!
We had been to this restaurant three times before. However, on this visit we found out they had change the menu and we were not overly happy with it. However, the restaurant manager in server were so accommodating they were able to provide us with one of our favorite sides from their old menu. It’s great to have customer service like this.
Not sure which is better, the service or the view. Andre and Travis treated us like royalty and were fun to talk to. The food was spectacular and the portions were surprisingly large. We chatted with the table next to us because they were just as happy as we were with how Talavera is run. This wasn't just dinner, it was an experience.
Excellent and authentic Spanish tapas and dishes. Every dish we had was superb. We had two tapas-Lamb Meatballs and marinated and roasted octopus and both were incredible! Of course, paella is on offer and it was superb. But the signature dish in our mind was the Secreto Iberico de bellotta. It was one, if not the Best, pork roast I have ever had. The Iberico from Spain is amazing with a singular and savory nuttiness. Wine list is very good, but on the expensive side. Still, there is enough variety offered so you can find a wonderful bottle at a more moderate price. The place exudes charm and, well Spain! We went in July, but will definitely go back again in the milder months to dine outside. They have excellent out patio seating with great ambient lighting and breathtaking views of North Scottsdale and the Valley of the Sun. This place is unique and like a short trip to Valencia or Malaga. Go. You will love it, too!

Amazing view. Incredibly wait staff. Food wasn’t groundbreaking, but satisfying. Great for a sunset dinner and drink.
While the food was delicious, the best part of our experience was the staff.
Helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and flexible. From confirmation of our reservation to the closing of our check our group had a fantastic experience.
The two front hosts were great to work with, as we had a large group, and our two servers were amazing.

Andre was our server and he was superb. We had not been to Talavera since they transitioned to a Spanish concept and his knowledge of the menu was broad and in depth. Everything was delicious, most notably the Paella del Campo and whole Branzino and the Albariño Andre selected was perfect.
Would recommend for any special occasion. Foodie experience. Even if you recognize a dish name - expect something completely different. Joy on your palate. Go open minded, experiment with your order. Best of the best!!
I have never been more disappointed in a dinner in my life. We tried 2 of the Sangria's. One tasted like grape juice the other like well something much worse. We had the steak tartare. While it looked attractive it was served with no toast points and when we did get some bread we both felt we were eating tasteless mush. No flavor or spice whatsoever. We than ordered what promised to be a wonderful Paella. Once again not a hint of flavor. While there were plenty of fish and chorizo and chicken, the whole dish had no taste whatsoever about it. The whole meal seemed to be "dumbed down" so as not to offend anyone. Really terrible food with lovely presentation. The wine list is impressive and the staff, if not terribly attentive, are very pleasant. The prices are as high as you would imagine for a top tear restaurant. The décor is way to casual for the prices and food preparation. Clearly trying to move away from elegance to southwest casual, which they achieved. Unfortunately they left the flavor of the food and the elegance of a Four Seasons hotel behind. What a truly amazingly disappointing experience.
Birthday/ Father’s Day celebration. Steaks amazing and very surprised how great the celebratory desserts were. A must!
High quality ingredients and preparation equals fabulous food! Fabulous staff! We will return!
This restaurant still has a fabulous location, with great views. The hotel itself is probably one of the best I have ever stayed in. However, after six years of excellent food and service at this restaurant, we came here for Father’s Day only to find that the “concept“ had changed, and what used to be a fabulous restaurant serving your typical steakhouse and a new American food menu had change to a Spanish style restaurant.
I am not sure what made four seasons decide to change what has been an amazing restaurant into a fad eatery, however order the food that we were served was very good, it’s simply did not fit the style of the hotel. It also seems to cater to more of a niche audience. Although in her previous visits with my wife, and my daughter, both somewhat picky eaters how are you know problems finding food that they left, now they both struggled with the menu Finding items that appealed to them.
Everything was fantastically delicious. Grilled asparagus, oysters, tomatoes with gazpacho vinaigrette, grilled olive oil cake and more 😋😋😋
This Four Seasons restaurant has revamped its menu and is even more superb. Spanish influenced and very creative tapas style dishes are offered along with their superb steaks. Wickedly good cocktails, innovative specials and a phenomenal valley view make for a restaurant well worth a visit,
Not worth the price. Food was disappointing. My beef was so salty I had to send it back.
We had a lovely dinner at Talavera. The appys of Jambon Iberico with rhubarb moustarda and roasted bone marrow with caper salad were superb. The Paella Mariscos was very good and brimming with fresh seafood, except for overcooked bits of lobster. We noted such to the waiter, Juan, and he comped us with a delectable dessert of tres leches, and a meringue covered passionfruit cheesecake. The ambiance at the Four Seasons is just right - luxurious but not stuffy. It was a perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion and we plan to return. We were very impressed.
Wedding party say no more
GM had go refill our glasses, steaks came out over cooked, once we got new steaks they were unevenly cooked. Things were taken off the bill which was agreeable and we did not have to ask, however we would have preferred a better experience over comped items. Wait staff also seemed to favor other customers who may have been regulars
Beautiful scenery and food was very good. Very pricey with limited options. Nice place for special occasion or business dinner.
My husband and I visited Talavera last week. We had been there several years ago, but not since the change in decor/food. The food was delicious and we sat outside on the terrace overlooking the valley, which was spectacular. As others have mentioned the service was slow. The manager greeted us when we were seated and we were given water, but it was another 10-15 minutes before our waiter approached our table to take our drink order. We also waited about 15 minutes for dessert after it had been ordered. I could give it 5 stars if the service had been better.
Outstanding wine/champagne offerings, compelling menu, and attentive service deliver a fantastic dining experience! Chef Sanz and Kelsey Jordan, resident sommelier, have worked closely to provide awesome food and wine pairing!
An outstanding meal! Unaccustomed to the AZ heat, we opted for a table indoors, which was very comfortable and still afforded a lovely view. Service was attentive and professional, with great timing. We started with the serrano ham and the grilled asparagus, both of which were simply superb--perfectly prepared and quite generously portioned. My husband's seafood paella was deemed great, and my own meat version of the paella was excellent, with thick slices of pork belly, slightly spicy chorizo and tender chicken in subtly seasoned rice. Sadly, we could not think of dessert, but hope to try it when we return.
We loved everything about this Hotel and Restaurant, I'm looking forward to my next visit.

We shared appetizers and paella all delicious. Extensive wine list. Beautiful views. Excellent service.
This was our first visit and we were very optimistic after viewing the website. My husband ordered the filet to be cooked medium. It was over-cooked and we sent it back to the kitchen. I ordered the seafood paella. The rice was very dry and the prawn was very small. Not much seafood in this dish as was shown in the website photos. My husband's second steak was perfectly prepared and was delish. The manager was informed about our situation, and comped one glass of wine and gave each of us dessert. Next time, we will choose to go to Proof which is also located at the Four Seasons Resort. Hopefully, we will have a better experience.
Family visiting from Miami, Florida, and dining at Talavera was a perfect option. Great natural setting and seriously good food. We enjoyed the soft guitar playing and their chef's Spanish cuisine.

The paella was very disappointing. The appetizers were also just so so. Service was good but the rest of the experience was not at all up to the standard of such a pricey restaurant . Will never go back.
The new tapas style Mediterranean menu was tremendous. Of course a beautiful venue and the service is impeccable. If you have been there with the old menu forget about that and try it again
Superb dinner. Every detail attended too. Excellent wine selection. Had the steak, veal chop, fresh fish, ahi, kale salad, a couple desserts. Top notch dinner. You cannot beat the views from the patio. Would go again in a heartbeat.
Outstanding service and food. Wait staff were attentive and aware of my special requests as noted on OpenTable. They were prepared to offer several options for food that fit my needs. They also provided an unexpected treat at the end of the meal since it was our anniversary. Superb in every way.

This used to be a favorite restaurant but will hesitate to go back. The service was not what it should be for a Four Seasons restaurant - waiter was pushy, interrupted and inattentive - it was bar-like noisy and expensive. The bill was incorrect and it took three tries to get it right. The food was excellent however.
