The service was amazing. I asked for a drink they do not normally serve and they did whatever they could to recreate it. The food was unlike anything I have ever had.
The staff could not have been nicer. The food and service were outstanding. We love this place!
Fantastic dining experience by far one of my favorite places I have visited.
This was the most incredible dining experience. Beautiful food. Service extraordinaire. Artistic. Meaningful. Respectful of the food and its origin.
Dining at Kai was a truly memorable experience; not strictly for the food, but also for the service and attention to detail. From the moment we entered and were greeted by name, to the hand-selected and one-of-a-kind Native art on the menus, to the history we learned about the area and ancient People of the land, we felt as if we were the ONLY diners in the restaurant. There were never fewer than 3 persons attending to every step of the service, from laying napkins in laps to clearing and resetting utensils to presenting courses, we felt truly pampered. We will most certainly return for another new journey...
Kai is a dining and cuisine experience. This is my second time here and it always exceeds my expectations.
My husband and I went there for my birthday. We had such a good time. The service was great! Such an amazing experience. We will definitely go back.
We have traveled extensively and Kai is one of the best restaurants we have ever dined at
An unbelievable culinary experience through amazing food. The service was impeccable and the attention to detail was second to none
Best of the West from start to finish. The ever evolving menu is exceptionally creative yet retains broad appeal. The service team and wine list is the perfect complement to the food.
Indigenous ingredients and local ingredients made for a lovely and delicious dinner. Excellent service!
This is a "must-go-to" place if you want a special fine-dining treat; it's awesome. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. We've been going there for years and it just keeps getting better. I was able to cut my bison tenderloin with a fork. My wife raved about the Kachk (seafood) and the duck our guest ordered was the best I've ever tasted. Four servers were only a few feet away to assure that we didn't want for anything, and they brought several different 3 or 4-bite fun appetite "teasers" before the meal came, all apparently made with yummy Native American ingredients; a nice, unexpected touch. The wine choices are incredible and range from about $40 to $10,000 a bottle (something for everyone). Wine is also available by the glass. The staff was so courteous and friendly that you'd think they had known us all our lives. Our car had been brought curbside when we left and the card and gift left on the dashboard was another nice surprise touch. Kai is a little bit pricey, although not as pricey as some fine dining restaurants in the city, but well worth it for it's exceptional quality, uniqueness, and service. I sound like an employee, but I'm not; just a very happy customer (again).
Unique dining experience! Amazing!
Perfect in every way- from the welcome to the final cheese course and then desert - service from Kevin and his team was perfect - Som Kevin (easy to remember- both named Kevin) was awesome as well- pairing my tastes for red wine and my wife’s for whites was really a nice surprise. Don’t know why this place is not Michelin rated. Good thing for us otherwise getting a table would be even harder. Chef Swanson and his Sous Chef Hupp are consistently innovative and top class.
Food was incredible, and the service was exemplary! The whole night was wonderful!
We had come for the first time last year for our 8th anniversary and everything was so delicious that we booked again for our 9th.
The menu is a little different and everything has a mesquite taste to it. We got the squash/pumpkin soup which we were VERY excited about because of how much we loved it last year. This time is tasted like a bowl of bbq sauce, neither of us could eat it, it was actually burning my lips. I had the lobster appetizer which was really good as well as the foi gras that my husband had for the 2nd course which he stated the fat wasn't quit rendered down enough so he kept getting globs of it but the broth was delicious. When it came to the entree, I got the Wagyu beef (which was cooked to my liking, med rare) but it came on top of bbq baked beans served in a bowl (this does not scream fine dining to me) it had so much bbq flavor that the beef had picked up a lot of that flavor and just ruined the taste of the beef for me. My husband had the venison and he said it was def nothing to write about, he couldn't even remember the side it came with. All in all we were very disappointed with the food. It cost way too much to taste like we are eating at a BBQ Pit!
We will say that just like last year the service is AMAZING! The restaurant is very nice and clean with a great view of the AZ sunset. We will probably go back but I would have to call and ask about the menu first.
It was an absolute pleasure dining at the Kai restaurant. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic experience! Our lead waiter Jackson did an exquisite job curating the experience throughout the evening. The staff was accommodating from the moment we arrived and the food was incredible! I highly recommend dining here throughout your stay.
Exceptional Service and Dining Experience. I would highly recommend for a special occasion for business or personal dining.
Feliciano and Darin took great care of us. The food was spectacular. The menu is one-of-a-kind and fun to try varied dishes.
Absolutely Phenomenal. Feleciano, Kevin, and all the staff are outstanding!
From the moment you arrive on property, the welcome and attention is unsurpassed. Creative cuisine complemented by flawless service. Everything on the tasting menu was excellent, accented with indigenous flavors and presented with imagination. Upon departure, not only was there fresh bottled water with small bites, but a personalized note to us!
We went as a Christmas gift for the family so this was a splurge for us. It was our third experience with a tasting menu experience. We opted for the Journey which is the larger tasting menu (13 courses). Note: you should be fairly hungry. We could not finish everything and 2 of us got the last two courses 'to go' (dessert and cheeses). We did not get the wine pairings as we've done that before. We've given this all 5 stars except for the value as $245 p.p is hefty and alcohol was very, very pricey (per glass with wine by the bottle being more along the lines of most upscale 4-5-star restaurants). The portions, however were very generous, for a tasting menu. It just is a hefty price. Next time, we will opt for 7 courses as that is plenty of food. We are glad we did the larger Journey menu, however, because every course was creative and amazing. Service was impeccable, truly 5-star. We were given gifts when we left-a nice touch. All wait staff were very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. Valet parking is included. The hotel is amazing. wish we'd taken the time to walk around. Highly recommended....a true experience. Go!!
The best restaurant in the world! The staff and food are exceptional.
We had dine here before number of years ago. This time, it was as good and as special as we remember. Food was amazing. Menu was unique. Cook of protein was perfect. Service was excellent. The servers were all polite, knowledgeable able the menu items and the ingredients. High recommended and will definitely return again.
An experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend the pairings.
Evening at Kai was exceptional. We enjoyed a few cocktails at the bar - which were carefully prepared and delicious. The meal was extraordinary. The attendance to flavors and presentment and the combinations was really stunning. Service was hyper attentive and professional. This is definitely a place for a special occasion.
Amazing as always! I've been to Kai so many times now, I feel like I'm part of the family. Kevin was our main waiter and he wanted to make sure we had a good tasting of everything new on the menu. Our entire table left the courses up to him and it all was wonderful, a different but exceptional time every time we go. And start your evening out with a cocktail from Lauren in the bar. Great time, favorite place by far. For the food, ambience and service.
I have said after my first visit that I would return and return again. Kai is the best restaurant in all of Arizona. The service from just to name a few,Kevin,Austin, patrick and all the great dining room staff that attended to our every need a huge thank you ! our anniversary night was made to be the best.I wish that I could better put in words the wonders that the Chef and his group of culinary wizards prepared for our visit the best I can say is MAGNIFICENT! THANK you all!!!! We would also like to thank the host staff with the attention to detail that that show in caring for us, and the extra time spent to hand deliver a beautiful birch box of corn muffins and jam to our room. We have been asked about from friends, How was your dinner? all we can say is awesome and you have to experience it for yourself. I apologize to those that i have forgotten, but trust me your not!
It was phenomenal, as always!
I work in the industry, and really never write reviews. However, after my dinner here I felt compelled. There was amazing attention to detail. The staff was friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was perfect. The overall experience was just great. You really feel special after leaving here. I highly recommend Kai for a special occasion or just a night out. I'll be back.
Amazing experience! Recommend the venison and the trout. Impeccable attention to detail (although they forgot the sturgeon roe that accompanied the trout). Feliciano was the consummate professional.
What a GEM!
Top Notch Service and Food!
The ambiance was great for carrying on a conversation and the background music was delightful and just enough to drown out other peoples conversations.
You didn't feel crowded.
I took my sister and brother in law here for dinner and they have very high expectations and they were blown away with every detail.

The foodservice, and ambiance were outstanding. Kai without doubt provides the best dining experience in Arizona. I plan to return whenever I have a special event to celebrate.
Wow! I wish I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, because it was amazing! My husband and I celebrated our birthdays at this restaurant a few nights ago, and we are so glad we did. This was our first time at Kai, and we will definitely be back. The menu was unique, and the presentation was beautiful, with every course displayed beautifully. I rarely put food pics on my instagram, but every course was too beautiful to not post a picture of! And the service was above and beyond; our waiters were Jackson and Feliciano, and they were so knowledgable and professional, and helped make this dining experience 5 star. All of the staff that we came in contact with, including the sommelier, were outstanding. This restaurant pays attention to detail, and it was appreciated! For example, our plates were brought out and cleared at the same time, so the waiters and staff would help each other to make sure that no one's food was ever sitting in front of them, while waiting for the other person to get their's. And the dining experience didn't stop when we left; when we got back to our room (we were staying there at the hotel: Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass) there was a small box of homemade blueberry muffins and honey and a handwritten thank you card waiting at our door. So nice!!! Thank you, Kai for an wonderful dining experience!
I love Kai. They treat you like royalty and make everything is perfect.
Absolutely unbelievable! In Arizona, or for that matter around the world this is second to none. From the food to the wine to the experience.... all first rate. My wife and I were blown away! Thank you for the special night!
Can I have 20 stars, please? Each rated dimension was at least a five. From our greeting by beautiful Native American hostesses, to our seating by Jeremy and his team, we felt like special guests. Two of us ordered the tasting menu and two ordered off the menu. The presentations were exquisite and amazingly timed so that each diner was presented their dish simultaneously. Local ingredients are combined with ancient grains and flora to be seasonal, fresh, and authentic. Each course is perfectly plated, some with lovely production touches liked poured sauces at the table. Breads were both standards with local ingredients, and/or authentic with Native American touches like saguaro blossom syrup or ancho chili spice. Entrees were 3-4 ounce servings with novel sides or garnish...corn puree and chopped chili under my buffalo steak or a tallow candle to accompany my sister's wagyu beef. Serving dishes matched the course creatively...an amuse bouche granita in a metal eggshell atop a metal nest. And all this is done without pretention and real appreciation for the food and the diner's delight. It was a very, very special experience in an old-style classic quiet dining room with superb food and service. We last visited Kai five years ago. I am amazed to report it was even better this trip.
The food and service at Kai was hands down the best we have ever experienced!!! Would recommend over and Over! Next time we are in town we will be going back !!!
I've been collecting true 5 star dining for 20 years. This was our second visit to Kai. Believe me I was able to check every box. A truly exceptional 5 star dining experience.
