Everything was amazing. Sadly the temperature was so very cold that it tempered the mood of the evening. Staff and food were astounding. Buffalo Steak was not perfect, nor out of the ordinary. Wagyu was very good. Very interesting choices of local beans, squashes and veggies.

Very recommended IF they can get the room temperature under control. The blowing cold was very unpleasant.

The service was absolutely outstanding and the food was creative and full of unique flavors with ingredients from local places. We went for a birthday and they treated us to an amazing birthday dessert. We finished the night with a cup of coffee made right at our table. We will definitely be returning. Best restaurant I have ever been to!

More than a dinner, an exceptional experience in Phoenix.
When you arrive, the receptionist knows your name and asked you few detail about you ant then everybody in the restaurant comes and discusses with you. What a great way to welcome people. Then it's still exceptional : the manager told you the story of the restaurant linked with native indians. The dinner then, was perfect : we had the foie gras and the lobster to start and then the lamb and the waygu beef...Exquisite !
Great service + great dinner who overpasses a 3 stars michelin
must do in Phoenix and even in Arizona.
Thank you for this wonderful moment

Magique !

Interesting food and a mostly quiet setting. Get the tasting menu and be prepared to be there for hours.
Its an interesting take on some local ingredients and Native American cuisine. Its akin to trying to class up Mexican food. Sometimes a taco needs to stay a taco, you know. Its still a nice and classy experience. The staff is amazing and very accommodating (I witnessed them being nice to a lady who seemed like she hadn't talked to anyone in a while and talked the servers ear off). 6 stars to that man.

When you eat at Kai you're not just getting a meal you are getting a full-on sensory experience. The wait staff is extremely professional and courteous and we were addressed by our last name throughout the evening. From cocktails to dessert, the menu was incredibly creative and well thought out, using local fare with a multitude of flavors. The experience continued even after the meal was over: when we walked outside our car was waiting for us without having to submit our valet parking ticket, and on our dashboard we found a small bamboo box with muffins and a small jar of wildflower honey for the next morning's breakfast, all accompanied by a beautiful card with a hand-written note by our server. The meal was not inexpensive, but if you are looking for a venue for a very special occasion this may be the number one choice in the entire Valley.

We are from NYC and by virtue of our location have dined at the some of the finest restaurants around. I can genuinely tell you that Kai was on par with the best of the best - from the service, to the food itself, wine selections, meal pace, etc. The only area that arguably fell slightly short (and I mean very very slightly) was the decor, which was nice but not grand like an Eleven Madison Park or Per Se. But that said, the food was equally as good as those and we left utterly and happily astounded at having experienced such a gem in the dessert. Kevin Shirley was our waiter and he was so delightful and informative and knowledgeable without any of the pretense you find at some NYC restaurants. The food was refined and thoughtfully executed. Everything on the plate had a flavorful purpose and meaningful story that Kevin intelligently explained. And the whole experience felt so authentic and respectful of local flavors and traditions. Even the physical, one of kind, custom menus incorporated local materials and individual water colors from a local native! In closing, we were in Phoenix simply to fly back to nyc from a major airport after a week of visiting national parks. That said, next time we’re in Phoenix it will be simply to eat again at Kai! Bravo!

First of all our server, Jackson, told us about the menu and the food inside...was a great story
explaining the native artwork, too. The food and extras were fantastic. The service was just stellar. We've eaten all over the world and Kai is ONE OF THE VERY BEST RESTURANTS!!!

We travel over 200 miles round trip to mainly eat here. There is no other place like it!!! Everyone should try this experience at least once....you will want to return. This was our third time here and we'll be back again next year,

I have eaten at many fantastic restaurants all over the world and I was not impressed at all at this one. The food was mediocre and did not finish most of my meal because it was just not that impressive. The service was good although I felt that people were hovering over us and were watching to immediately take our dishes away. It was almost military like instead of relaxing. The whole experience was just meh and would not recommend. Definitely not worth the drive. The view was beautiful was they opened the curtains.

Dining at the Kai was a special experience. The staff were attentive and polite. They explained everything on the menu as well as presenting a brief history of "Kai". Our server Jackson was could not have been more helpful. He took care of our every need. The food was outstanding. We cannot remember a better dining experience. The menu offered several entrees which were all interesting and tempting. We chose the Grilled Tenderloin of Buffalo, which was great. We were treated as if we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We can see why the Kai has a five star rating. We look forward to returning again. To everyone at the Kai, both those we saw and those who prepared our meal, thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Second visit to Kai and it was every bit as wonderful as our first visit. My wife and I regularly sputter at Michelin star restaurants with overly artsy food, tiny bites and crazy prices. Kai has artsy food and smaller, but not tiny, bites. Price is definitely not low. But, somehow it is all worth it. The use of Pima desert foods and herbs is incredibly unique and helps make this a truly special experience.

Third time, only bringing someone who had never eaten here.
This is very simple - from foodies who searches out the top restaurants everywhere we go, Kai is in the Top 3 best restaurants in the country.
Your palate may not be ready for some very disparate ingredients, the indigenous American Indian flavor profile, but don't worry.
Don't worry about the menu, which appears limited and seems off-putting in its descriptions of the features.
It is the most harmonious marriage of flavors and textures we have ever had.
Lobster appetizer - incredible.
Ask for a little extra lobster bisque - none better anywhere.
Wild boar - small portion, amazing.
Bison filet - best filet I've ever eaten. And I live in Oklahoma.
Grouper cheeks - fish at its most perfect. Just order it,

The service is great - may seem a little pretentious at the sir-down, but it's not. Everyone there knows the menu and preparations completely.

Dessert - get a chocolate soufflé. Get the full-them-yourself doughnut holes. Go nuts.

You'll be thinking about when you can return before you pay the check. Then you'll think about how this can become a business expense so you can write it off.

You'll think of something.
