Dominick's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Dominick’s several times and the servers are good, the food is super but the girls at the front welcoming guests have been consistently stone-faced and less than welcoming.
Please work on improving this as it leaves an impression that sticks with the guests.
Overall the food was very good. The baked potato however was underdone. The wait staff was very attentive however the table we had was in a direct line to the kitchen it seemed and the number and speed of the attendants flying by was very distracting, so rapid in fact that a breeze was created by their constant passing. It was too loud and perhaps that was simply a feature of how full the room was but the PA could have been a bit lower. Conversation was difficult.
Late reservation. A little hurried (would have preferred to not feel quite so rushed). Interesting that the restaurant accepts 10 pm reservations, but the kitchen closes at 10 pm. We had 9:45 reservation, were there on time, had to wait for hostesses to figure out where to seat us (really??). Expensive tomahawk steak was seriously undercooked but everything else was perfect. Spirits, wine selection is awesome. Our server, Brad, is great - knows the menu well and is sincere in his approach. Will return, but preferably not at the later seating. All Mastro's restaurants have serious issues in the training department (too many situations to discuss here), but they did well at this location!
The wait staff we had ,while they were friendly the waitress wasn’t attentive enough and my husband 22 oz steak that he ordered so he would have leftovers was placed on the same large tray that was used to clear the whole table
My husband didn’t want to take it home to eat after it was on a “unclean” tray
Otherwise it was a lovely dining experience upstairs!
Loved our dinner I was celebrating with my daughter . She received high honors straight A’s on her report card. The staff all made a point to congratulate her. She is in Eighth grade and was mesmerized by the restaurant and had smiles ear to ear from the compliments. It was very sweet and Dominick’s made it very special. Our server , Michael was superb as was all the staff
Dinner was perfection. They surprised my daughter with a gift of dessert and a congratulatory note
Dominick's Steakhouse is a good choice for a VERY Special Occasion. It is very good but VERY expensive. A bit disappointed in that their wines are very expensive and they were out of some of the more reasonable wines (under $100). Overall good food, but for top dollar.
Loud and busy which can be made up for with great food, but wasn't. Waygu beef was excellent but the sides were lacklustre at best. The asparagus was in a terrible breading not tempura, the crab was flavourless, the oysters were mangled and shredded. Whoever did that should not open oysters anymore, they don't know what they're doing. Service from our waiter was excellent. Wine list was good. Won't come back though. For that much money I can do better elsewhere. Much better.
This was my first time at Dominick’s. The service level was exceptional. Every table is tag-teamed and although very busy on a Saturday night we did not want for anything. I had the Bone-in Rib Eye and the flavor was outstanding. Meat temperature was dead on. The sides and salads were very good in addition to the creative desserts.
I enjoy Dominic’s , go there often. Made a 6 pm reservation and was told I could not sit in the bar area till 630 although walking we’re coming and going in that area. Once seated we were put by a high traffic area for wait staff at the door of steps, when I asked to be moved one table over I was told it was probably reserved . I asked the young girl to please confirm this. The appropriate response would have been I’m sure it’s fine let me take care of it. Food was on par, over all I was dissatisfied but will try it again.
We're visiting Dominicks on a regular basis since years, and it's never a disappointment. Colossal Shrimp cocktail is unsurpassed, 5 out of 5 stars. This time our party also ordered the pork chops (5/5), the bone-in rib eye med-rare (5/5), filet mignon med-well (5/5) accompanied by the best mashed potatoes in Arizona (5/5). It's one of the few places offering famous "Santa Margherita" Pinot Grigio by the glass (generous pour) (5/5) For us, it s still the best upscale restaurant in Arizona.
Our table was perfect, our waiter Brad was outstanding, and our meal was delicious. My only complaint is the quality of my filet mignon: it was not worthy of a prime rating. It was gristly and a little tough. The flavor, however, was good. Love the lobster/avocado stack.
