We had a great time and our server Samantha took great care of us (there was some confusion with the tip with another in our party but we had a lovely time and were left wanting nothing). My only, only bit of feedback is that the booth tables are tight on space for people sitting at the corners, esp with a party of 6. Might request a table next time! MoreOpenTable Diner -
Wonderful food, nicely sized portions, good atmosphere, and an outstanding beverage menu. Our waiter Mark gave us excellent service and was extremely knowledgeable regarding the whiskey list and helped us put together some very interesting flights. Will certainly be back next time I am in town. MoreOpenTable Diner -
I loved the atmosphere. The German music and singing where very authentic and entertaining. My small children loved it! I thought the food was great as well. We had a lamb shank, which was amazing, and the salmon. I would definitely go back. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
Chicago's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
Beautiful sushi that is delicate, tasty and fresh. Top quality fish with many very unique items. The space is simple and relaxing (although a little cheap appearing for their price point). Items finished with the butane torch all tasted like butane. The place is BYOB but it doesn’t clearly state that anywhere on the website. This led to a couple guzzling 2 bottles of sake and being wasted and rude. Overall, lots of potential. Go for the show of watching delicate fish being made and for the tasty fish. Things they could work on: 1. Waiting outside for your seating to start will not be fun in the rain or winter 2. They need a more specific process for ordering the supplemental fish 3. I would much prefer them to have high quality sake or at least be VERY obvious about being BYOB 4. Drop the butane 5. Have the chef or the server talk a little more about the fish and toppings - what makes it so special? Where is it from? What are the toppings and why were they chosen. MoreOpenTable Diner -

The design-driven restaurant and adjoining nightclub is inspired by the original TAO locations in New York City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. TAO Chicago features multiple levels, creating dynamic spaces within the historic building’s shell, while adding TAO’s Asian-influenced DNA to the restaurant, lounge and nightclub including murals by artist Hush and TAO’s signature 16-foot-tall Quan Yin statue anchoring one end of the dining room. TAO Chicago’s restaurant menu, created by TAO Group Partner and Chef Ralph Scamardella and Executive Chef Michael Armstrong, is complete with great Pan-Asian offerings from the sea, sky and land including signature dishes like Satay of Chilean Sea Bass, Crispy Rice Tuna and a Wagyu Rib-Eye Teppanyaki. When in , the movers and shakers have gathered at a place called The Globe Tavern for over 200 years. Although the physical location has changed over the years, history repeats itself as The Globe Tavern is still known as a place of business and networking for politicians and a place of comfort and relaxation for tourists. It all began in the 1830's when Lincoln brought Mary Todd to the The Globe Tavern for their first date. As the years progressed, the food and beverage selection evolved. We now feature hand crafted specialty drinks and a rotating selection of premium draft beer. Seven flat screen televisions feature sports and news channels alike keeping tavern guests up to date and entertained. Sit back and stay a while for lunch, dinner, or a late evening appetizer.More
Winds whipping off Lake Michigan are no match for hungry Chicagoans in pursuit of the ultimate burger and a respite from brutal winters. Historically at the heart of the meat industry, the city’s slaughterhouses now house tony Michelin-starred restaurants, and deep-dish is just one of countless takes on Italian American staples in town. Arguably the American capital of molecular gastronomy, Chicago is at once a trendsetter and the capital of casual. Calling all carnivores.
