Food was great and probably the best lobsters I've had in Chicago, but the service was subpar. They're too busy to keep the service at their highest standard. I recommend going there on week days. We sat close to the kitchen and we kept hearing a really high-pitched squeaking noice that could come from the door from inside or something and it was extremely irritating.
Always enjoys dinner at Gibson's! Steaks are exceptional, lobster bisque was great, side dishes large enough to share & dessert was perfect!
The food was great and the service was amazing, as always! Can’t wait to come back and enjoy it again.

What a disappointment. While we appreciated the tradition and history of the restaurant, it is well past its expiration date. Food was diner quality, service was rushed. House salad was all iceberg; steaks were not cooked as requested; sautéed button mushrooms likely from a can: brussel sprouts tasteless. Not a high quality dining experience. Go elsewhere.
Unbeatable steaks and meat---but JEEZ do they need to work on their side dishes. The desserts are cartoonishly large-- fun to look at but-- but just unworkable.
Their peppercrusted filet is unforgettable. Amazing.
Great atmosphere and great food
Everything was great, our server Joe was terrific. And as usual the food outstanding.
It’s become our go to spot for lobster rolls and brunch. There is so much good food in Chicago, but this is a classic.

Great food and great service @ Gibson’s...never had a bad meal here! Steaks and Brussels sprouts are the way to go here!
not what it used to be. steak was on the salty side. Brussel sprouts were "soggy" wilted way too much. Bread was fantastic, as was the sea bass.
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. I’m not a steak person but he is and he’s ALWAYS wanted to try Gibson’s in Chicago. I can honestly say we both were not disappointed! He fell in love with his steak! He couldn’t stop talking about his food the next day too! I got a burger and a double baked potato which was HUGE but AMAZING! Our server Michael was also super friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend asked what wine would pair well with his steak and Michael said “Say no more”, left, brought back a glass of wine and it was delicious! Long story short, for me, a person who doesn’t even eat steak, I’d highly recommend and would go back again!
I loved the food very much here. We had the steak in medium, and it was perfect. I liked the steak much better than Joe’s seafood and steakhouse. The service here was great but not better than Joe’s. The portion of the deserts here is out of control. Be prepared to share.
You simply cannot go wrong at Gibsons because of the superior service. It is particularly nice for lunch as it is quieter and priced incredibly reasonably for the quality of food and service. Enormous turkey club sandwiches, delicious sliders, fries that should be outlawed and eggs available too.
Very fun bar and restaurant. Service is impeccable. Prices are a little high.
The only reason I gave 4 stars on food was because the baked potat I ordered was overly done to the point of being almost burned.

Great meal and the service was even better! I had the WR Chicago Cut 22oz steak suggested by our waiter and he didn’t steal us wrong- it was amazing. It was also suggested to have the double baked potato & Bourbon butter bacon Brussel sprouts - both AMAZING! Definitely will go back if I have the chance, worth the $ and time.
Very nice ambience, waiters were very knowledgable on their menu and they presented different types of steaks to us before we order.
Ordered the W.R. Chicago Cut and Porterhouse, they were fantastic, Sauteed mushrooms was also a good side option. Will definitely come back again.

Been going to Gibson's for annual anniversary trip to Chicago for 15 years. Never disappoints. Everything is 5-star plus.
We chose Gibson's for our anniversary dinner, and was very happy with our choice. We were seated at a booth near the waiter's station,which I found to be unpleasant especially for a celebratory dinner. The area was noisy and crowded and was too close to wait station for our liking.The food was delicious, the restaurant nice, our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Facing the restaurant occupancy signage was not pleasant.

Phenomenal service and cuisine; always a favorite when in the city.
The food was excellent, as was the service. The noise level was perfect, quiet enough to have a business meal but not so quiet you felt you were eating in a library.
The bartender was fantastic! Great mixologist with an endearing personality.

My experience at Gibson’s was great. The food was good and the table I sat at had a nice scenic view. The noise level was not bad and it was a comfy feel. Last but not least the service was good as well I will definitely be back.
