We liked sitting by a window, as it was still light outside, but we have never had that before. Our waitress was excellent - anytime we had a question or asked for a recommendation, she was extremely helpful. The food was outstanding, and we got the four course meal. Our table accommodated all of our dishes, and we felt comfortable moving the dishes around. We also did not feel like we were bombarded by our waitress - she seemed to come around at the time we needed her. Our experience was excellent - we will come back again. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Make sure you don’t confuse this with the large chain called rocksalt cross the country. This is a locally owned restaurant with some locally sourced shellfish that is farm raised. They have a great selection of shellfish as well as ceviche and I he tuna, along with other great main dishes, inventive salads and a selection of other appetizers. Plus they have a great happy hour during the week until 7 PM or you can sample some of their oysters at half price. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Charlottesville is both a historical and college town, and when these two worlds collide, there is bound to be culinary magic in play. Because the community encompasses such a large area, the food options are limitless. Downtown gives food lovers underground wine bars, rooftop grills and farm-to-table options. You can also find French crepes and American restaurants with recipes and wines that date back to the founding of the country. Towards the north, diners will find options such as authentic Mediterranean and Indian restaurants for a delicious international flavor. Whether you're looking for an old family favorite or the latest fusion cuisine that unites global tastes, Charlottesville has plenty to offer.
