Seasonal Local American Cuisine. We use many local products from local farmers. We are located about a mile west of the University of Virginia campus. Historic old home turned into a restaurant. Three small intimate dining rooms upstairs, one on the ground floor and a large weather protected patio. In the winter the Patio is heated. Family owned since 1995. Special diet needs met upon request.

Meh. Did not live up to the hype. Service good at first. Then we waited what seemed like a very long time for our entries. I was quite hungry by then so I had to ask for an extra piece of bread. We were on the patio that only had a few people while the main restaurant inside was quite busy. So maybe they got caught up dealing with the crowd. My crab cake was excellent while my wife's pan-fried trout was overcooked and dry. This was a big anniversary for us so I told them about it when I made the reservation. I also called to remind them just before we left the house (20 minutes away). I wasn't looking for a freebee, I just wanted to make it a little more special for my wife. However they made no mention of the special occasion at any time during our visit. If you're searching for a place to celebrate a special occasion in C'ville, keep looking.

Had a lovely birthday dinner here. All members of my party loved their dishes- gnocchi, crab cake, and trout. We also all enjoyed dessert of sticky toffee pudding and brownies. Our server was great and I highly recommend coming here.

An excellent Anniversary dinner! Katie, our server, was ideal, and very enthusiastic. Our dinner included the Burrata, She Crab Soup, Crabcake, and my favorite, the Mountain Trout. All cooked to perfection, and well worth the prices. Ended with the Key Lime Pie. Ivy Inn consistently does it to perfection!

Once again, we had a great experience at The Ivy Inn. The food was delicious -- perfectly prepared and presented (I had the beef tenderloin and my wife had the pork ribeye), and the cocktail and wine menu complemented well. Service was attentive while not intrusive. Plus, the owners added a special treat since it was our anniversary. As we left, we both commented that we've found our new special dinner spot, and we're looking forward to our next visit.

What a wonderful place. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. Of note is the chef’s ability to adhere to food allergies and provide a safe dish for a member of my party with an allium allergy.
