"We had an outstanding meal at the Guesthouse. First let me start with the ambience, which is romantic and private but there were also some group tables having fun for a birthday, which was nice. I had a cocktail made with Jim Beam apple - yum, house recipe. The drink menu has a motherlode of local options including hard cider, which I also tried and was glad I did — it was pleasantly dry and flavored with elder flower. For an entree I had cod in a puttanesca type sauce that was delicious and beautifully presented. The only reason I scored the food as 4 stars and not 5 is that my partner’s cauliflower “steak” came out a bit overcooked. It looked like it would have been good otherwise, and they immediately offered to replace it then took it off the bill when we declined. So no hard feelings on that. We had a peach “cobbler” for dessert. The only reason I put it in quotes is that it was so gourmet it seems unjust to call it cobbler. Carmelized with a sherry cream sauce on top, it was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Will go back as soon as we can"See more

"We are at The Lafayette for our 25th anniversary. We chose it because it was really the only nice restaurant around where we were staying, so we didn’t really know what to expect. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely. We would definitely return."See more
