Seasonal Local American Cuisine. We use many local products from local farmers. We are located about a mile west of the University of Virginia campus. Historic old home turned into a restaurant. Three small intimate dining rooms upstairs, one on the ground floor and a large weather protected patio. In the winter the Patio is heated. Family owned since 1995.     A wonderful experience. The quality of the service and ambience complement the food. A wide variety of appetizers, salads and small plates provides multiple options. We shared an app and 2 of the 4 of us combined small plates that were interesting rather than an entree. All of us had an outstanding experience. They have maintained their standards for at least 40 years, an incredible achievement.

    Our entire experience was absolutely excellent! I also have celiac disease and there were a plethora of options and they take pride in their dedicated fryer to ensure safety. If ever in the area, we will definitely return!

    Black cow is hands down the best steak house in cville! The atmosphere is fun and unique and their staff is very attentive. I was very impressed with their knowledge of the drink and dinner menu. It is a little pricey but with every cent! You won’t regret a date night at black cow!

    By far, one of my favorite restaurants. The staff are fantastic, the ambiance is lovely, and the food is truly excellent. The prices are fair, the portion sizes are well-balanced, the presentation is elegant, and of course, the flavors are all that you would hope of a sushi restaurant and more. Make this your #1 stop at the Downtown Mall!
