The Farmhouse at Veritas
The menu reflects our passion for the pairing. Every meal is memorable with Chef Andy Shipman. His attention to detail and knowledge of fresh seasonal ingredients straight from local farmers and our very own Farmhouse Garden embody our farm-to-table philosophy. The ambiance of The Farmhouse at Veritas is perfect for a romantic evening, a leisurely group of friends, or your next small event.
The staff is here to make sure every detail exceeds your expectations, from the menu to the memories. No matter what size or what occasion, we invite you to come and see how we can inspire your palate.
Very unique experience in a beautiful setting. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was very good.
Beautiful landscape and relaxing (yet homey) atmosphere. Delicious food and the staff is very pleasant and attentive where you feel like family.
Verything was as we hoped! The food, the atmosphere, the frank Sinatra music and Angel as our server. Perfect evening!
We loved the food preparation by Chef Colman ...very carefully prepared. The wines to complement each course were carefully selected too!!many unique touches. Loved eating in the garden room too! Outside atmosphere.
Fabulous food and staff. I like the originality of the chef. Very good food.
We were staying at the Farmhouse Friday and Saturday night and decided to have dinner their our first night. It was amazing. Chef Andy was so creative in his menu, everything was delicious! My husband can’t stop talking about it. We enjoyed all our meals at The Farmhouse - the staff and service were impeccable, attentive, friendly. We’ll be back, for sure!
The Farmhouse at Veritas is a wonderful B&B with an excellent pair of chefs. When opting for the dinner staying at the B&B is a no-brainer. There is a happy hour to sample the Veritas wines, then champaign before dinner. With dinner including wine pairings, one is greatful to be able to just fall into bed. Yes, it is pricey but it is well worth it.
Setting is amazing. Historical and beautiful. Food could have used a touch of salt, but otherwise delicious 😊
It was such a great experience! Food, service, ambiance, WINE! I would 100% recommend this for anyone looking for a great night out, a little bit different than the norm.
The Farmhouse has become our favorite destination for a unique and consistently exceptional culinary experience.
Perfect—service and food; lovely evening
We expected amazing food and we were so disappointed that we walked out. It was a weird atmosphere and the food was awful. Not worth it.
We could not possible have had a better experience. The food was incredible, the environment is just so gorgeous (we were so cozy inside by the fire on a snowy evening), and the service was perfect. From the minute we arrived we began planning our next trip. I cannot more highly recommend an evening at The Farmhouse.
Wonderful experience. Excellent food and atmosphere.
Really amazing diner. Great ambiance, wonderful food, lovely wine. Would highly recommend.
Intimate, wine-paired chef’s menu in 1890s Farmhouse B&B
The 4 course wine pairing meal prepared by the Chefs at Veritas made for a perfect evening. The setting was their enclosed sunroom with dim lighting and tea candles and a small vase of tulips on the flower. The wine was flowing and perfectly paired for each course and the courses were so thoughtfully crafted and the perfect portions.. it was literally a perfect night!
Thanks for this experience- we'll be back!
The food was amazing, just like every time I have been there! The service was outstanding! They made sure your glass stayed full and was paired perfectly!
This was one of my favorite meals in/around Charlottesville! Food was absolutely delicious, staff was amazing, and we loved the fact that you could look in on the kitchen before the meal began. We had such a wonderful time, and we will definitely be coming back!
Local food and wine. High end dining experience at a reasonable price. Best Valentine’s Day in years.
Just a fabulous experience. Dinner was delicious, accommodations quaint and romantic, and breakfast just right. Well worth a trip, although we live only about 40 minutes from the Farmhouse. Located on the Veritas winery and vineyards looking at the Blue Ridge Mountains.
This was for my birthday and my wife and I had a wonderful time. We were also staying on site and loved the BnB.
This was our first time dining at The Farmhouse and we'll be back. We have been to Veritas a few times but it has been many years since we did a wine tasting. The wines paired with the dinner courses were excellent. The food was impressive, delicious, beautifully plated and fresh with vibrant flavors. The service was smooth and unobtrusive. And the setting really made you feel like you were getting away for a few hour mini-vacation. We had a cozy table by the fire and could just relax and enjoy. And on top of it all, it was a great value for a top notch dining experience.
Great setting for a multi-course meal with wine parings from Veritas. It was a great evening!
Lovely evening away! Great hosts and delicious food.
This is the third time I have eaten there. It was not a good experience. The room was cold. The food was served cold and several ingredients left out of the plates. I would not go back as it was very expensive for a poor experience
This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The food was outstanding and the wine pairings were perfect. While the food was incredible, the service was beyond stellar. We highly recommend anyone in the Charlottesville area, whether visiting or residing there, come and enjoy this divine experience.
Although my husband comes from a restaurant family background and prefers to dine at home, he gave The Farmhouse at Veritas a 5 star rating in all categories when we celebrated his birthday there this week. The wine pairings with each course were perfect, the food was excellent, the service, impeccable, and the vineyard setting was beautiful.
The setting is an old farmhouse with the downstairs rooms converted into dining areas. Our dining room had a large table for my group (10), and 2 tables set for up to 4 each. There was another room set up with a single table for 8. There may have been other areas, but I don't think so. The service was great and all the food was brought in at one time. The menu is pre-selected, so you don't get to customize your plate. We were served a sparkling wine when we arrived, and then four courses each with a paired wine. I am not a wine connoisseur by any means, but they were all delicious. Everyone enjoyed the selection tremendously. The highlight of the meal was the Filet Mignon, which was cooked to perfection; maybe the best steak I have ever eaten. I also enjoyed the desert wine, the Othello 2016. It made a tasty end to the meal, and a lovely evening.
Overall good food and wines. Main dish could have arrived warmer. It appears they wanted everyone to get their food at the same time, this may have created the situation where some things were out mainfor a few extra minutes before being served. I thought the main dish and the soup were very good. The desert was not the highlight.
Lovely place for special occasion. Attention to detail in all ways.
Literally the best food I have ever had, served by nice, knowledgeable staff. I will definitely be back!
We couldn't have asked for more! We had a group of 10 from our firm there on an annual Christmas Dinner Retreat and the staff and chef executed our dinner beautifully! The wines were some of the best Virginia wines I've ever had, and they poured as generously as we asked. The tasting menu was perfectly designed (the only exception was dessert... which felt a bit like a gelatinous fruit rollup inside of a chocolate shell...) and left tummies full and happy. The ambiance was exquisite with the gorgeous table settings, the fireplace gently warming the room, the beautiful statuary and the jazz music playing softly in the background. Sublime!
I'm not a fan of combining strange ingredients but Chef Andy does an incredible job. Every morsel of every course was delicious. The service was spot on, friendly and professional.
What a dining experience! I loved everything as the attention to detail was outstanding. From the arrival greeting through the last course. The food and wine pairing was fabulous and the service was the best!
I can’t wait to go back!
The chef accommodated my pescatarian diet with some amazing dishes. One of the best meals of our lives, and less expensive than other "luxury" or "high-end" dining.
Great place for a special occasion
The setting was beautiful. The food was delicious. We had a private room set up for our group and it was very elegant. We were very impressed with the service. Would go back again for a special occasion.
This was an outstanding evening. Excellent in every way but probably topped off by the outstanding Seven Hills Filet Mignon steak.
We thought the food was wonderful with great wine pairings for each course. Beautiful setting and attentive staff provided an excellent dining experience.
