Duners Restaurant

This was a wonderful restaurant! I could have made a meal out of the sautéed Brussels sprouts and spinach alone! So special!

Food was awesome as usual. Not as full as it has been something before, which was great for the noise level.

Great service, Hannah, suggested just what we were looking for and it was delicious.

Year after year, Duners gets it done. Their preparation of fin fish is finest kind. The Japanese cabbage pancake accompanying the tuna entree is as good as anything that I’ve ever eaten. The three of us shared the Dacquoise dessert: if the virus gets me, I’ll die content that I had the opportunity to enjoy that treat.

Great food; great location; great people and staff.

Duner’s was an enjoyable experience. For was delicious and service was very good. I brought my 23 year old daughter with me to dinner. She ordered a cocktail and wanted it not with ice and told the server that is how she wanted it. The server did mention that this cocktail was usually served on the rocks. My daughter does not like ice in her drinks and felt a little bad that she was told her cocktail should have been served on the rocks. She was a bit upset to be corrected, but the cocktail was still delicious.

One of the greatest dining experiences I've had. The food was delectable with a variety of exotic choices. The service was superb and friendly. I received special attention in the serving of the birthday cake....the back made fresh whipped cream and added berries to make a great presentation. I will want to go back to Duners time and time again.

The food is always superb.
Service is always excellent but, some of the wait people need to be more careful when walking through the tight confines of the dining rooms. I was constantly being bumped by one particular waitress.

Duner's was recommended to us by friends, so we knew it was going to be good. We were not disappointed at all by the food, but were somewhat surprised by the ultra-casual environment. The ambiance was less than great.

I was very disappointed in the ribeye I ordered for which I was charged $37. It was tough and poor quality. My husband ordered flank steak which was also poor quality. My friend ordered mussels which were excellent. I think the prices are TOO HIGH for the quality.

Duners is great. The food is consistently good and the service is always top notch.

Duners is our favorite restaurant in Central Virginia. It is welcoming with great ambience. The menu is always interesting and varied. Everything is done well, starting with the warm bread that could easily be a meal. The salads were fresh and just enough. Our table had crab cakes, veal, salmon and calves liver. All were excellent, including the liver which I had. It is a difficult meal to get righjt and Duners did. My wife and I took home leftovers for lunch the next day. All four of us had dessert which were amazing. Nothing left on the plates. As always Duners did not disappoint. It is the best in an area with some very good and great restaurants.

One of our regular favorites. But can be a little noisy if you arrive with the crowd around 6 or 6:30.

Unfortunately my food was cold. I sent it back and it wasn’t much better. Additionally, the mashed potatoes were very salty. I’ve had good food here in the past, so this was very disappointing.

Duner's provided a great experience. The food was delicious. They bring fine dining to a casual atmosphere which was perfect for us two couples. Our friends have a 10-month-old and she was welcomed by everyone. The check was nothing to balk at, but also not unexpected. It was worth it.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Tried the duck dumpling appetizer- seriously so good! For entrees we got the crab cakes and salmon, both delicious and perfectly cooked. The hand pie that came with the salmon was a perfect side. The crab cakes were light and had barely any filler. For dessert, we tried the coconut cake which was light and delicious. Overall the ambiance was incredible for a date night and the food was wonderful.

Absolutely fantastic! Would recommend it to anyone traveling through the area.

The food is always good here and we thoroughly enjoy the experience until the staff starts hounding us “Are you finished” “Do you want a box?” Even when I have a fork in hand taking food to mouth and clearly there is food on plate. It happens every time we go, we wait another six months and try again. I should add we sat down at 7:30 pm, the time of our reservation and left at 8:30 deciding not to get dessert as we were out of breath from the rushing...there were not people waiting for a table.

Our favorite go-to place for creative, well prepared foods and outstanding service. These folks know how to run a fine-dining restaurant. Always a pleasure.

It was a pleasant experience reminding us of a small restaurant we visited in France.

The wait staff at Duner's is the best anywhere. They know the menu, are efficient and friendly and they have been for all the many years our family has been celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and other special occasions there.

The vegetarian option was really not good - too cheesy and too heavy and fried. Since there is only one option, it was pretty limiting.

Our waitress was not particularly pleasant either.

We had not been to Duner's in many years, but were glad to to get the chance to return. There are lots of menu options with an emphasis on seafood. Service was friendly & efficient. This is one of the few restaurants which still includes a nice salad with homemade dressings as part of your entree (most are in the $25-30 price range). Both our dishes were rather large portions and both were relatively "rich", which made consuming all of the entrees an impossible task, but both dishes were quite good. It seemed that many of the other diners were leaving with "leftover boxes". The molasses pie, which we shared, was a bit disappointing for desert (my wife didn't like the consistency and I found the crust was rather hard and difficult to cut into). Otherwise, this was a very good dining experience & we won't wait so long to return.

Always excellent. We go whenever in Charlottesville, because of Duner's extensive menu and great service.

Pretentious menu, indifferent food, wildly overpriced and wait staff on a conveyer belt to get people out the door. Efficient but not friendly. Will not come again.

We have been going there for 20 years and the food and service never disappoints! It is our Go to Place!

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time, and we had a fabulous experience! The food was amazing and the wait staff was wonderful. We started out with the homemade rustic bread and the delicious mussels. I had the rockfish with potato gnocchi and asparagus and it definitely had the “wow” factor! My husband had the trout, bacon jam winter squash tart, and spinach and it was just as delicious! I highly recommend this place and we will be going back very soon! A great way to spend our Valentine’s Day!
