Brewery | Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh

Great new brewery. The broad range of their beers on tap had the taste of an experienced brewer, quality well above average, easily top 5% in Pgh area. The barleywine was very impressive, stout also good. Food preparation and taste is "premium restaurant chef level", not typical bar food. Pricing is average, menu somewhat limited. Service was top notch, employees courteous. The interior of this old Lawrenceville establishment has been totally redone. The only negative I should mention is the lack of wall insulation in the back room. Ice cold air pours down it, and the tables are positioned right against it. If it is below freeing outside, don't take a table near the back wall unless you wish to keep your coat on. It felt about 60 degrees F or less, so we had to ask to move into the front room which was closer to normal 65-70. More

Contemporary European | Sewickley, Pittsburgh

The food was excellent. Service very good even though our waitress got a large table of 8 or more to serve while we were there. Still got in and out in the time we expected. Noise level is a bit high because it is a small space and open from front to back with bar in same area. More
