    Wow, we loved this. We haven’t done Sunday brunch here in a long time, though it used to be a family tradition. OpenTable is new since then so having this reservation was huge; our large party of six was seated right on time. And my memories of the buffet being largely standard buffet food under warming lights, with a couple of stations - namely carving (which doesn’t help me as a vegetarian) and omelette - was replaced by many custom options. There is still a section with standard buffet food, but the omelette station has grown and mine was ridiculously wonderful with egg whites and tons of veggies. I got a custom tortellini at the pasta station. There is a station where you can get pancakes or, as suggested by our server, simple bananas foster over ice cream, OMG. Don’t even get me started on the fresh donuts station; we ate so many. Also the chocolate fountain! This is a wonderful spot for a special occasion and I think it is going to be a family tradition again. Service was also impeccable!

    Our evening at Grand Concourse was very disappointing. While the restaurant is beautiful and the history of the site is interesting, the drinks and the food were terrible, and while our waiter apologized profusely and did his best to make up for it, he could not make up for the too sweet drinks, the hour long wait for our entrees, to be served an ok filet mignon and mahi mahi, with tasteless and dry risottto and miserably over cooked and cold asparagus. We will not be back.

    We hadn’t been to the Grand Concourse in several years. When I saw they had a prime rib special, we decided to go. It was such a disappointing experience. We were a bit late for our reservation, but I called to let them know. When we arrived and checked in, the man at the front desk said he knew we had called and they’d be with us soon. We must have waited another half hour before being called. The waitress was lovely, but it was obvious that she was totally over worked. She had 2 large parties and a few other tables to wait on. The service was awful. We waited forever. There were several food runners who kept placing the wrong order in front of us. The waitress kept thanking us for our patience. The bread and drinks came out. The bread is still the same excellent bread. The best part of the meal. Our salad and soup took forever. The Martha Vineyard salad was kind of brown and wilting. The prime rib (why I came), was very underwhelming. It did not look appetizing on the plate and the quality was very average. The mashed sweet potatoes were gummy. All in all, I was quite disappointed with this restaurant, which in the past was a treat to go to.

    We had been greeted professionally and seated. Our waitress looked like she just rolled out of bed but was nice. When we asked her opinion on a few dishes she said she never really tasted the food on the menu but we could be her “guinea pigs” and based on our feedback she could tell other diners if the dishes are good or not. We asked for the prime rib medium it was cool and well done. The Mac and cheese was straight out of the box (Kraft). The mussels seemed as if they tried to stretch the sauce and just added table wine and no seasoning. The dish was not made properly. The duck, also a bit well done. Which is not how duck should be served. The mash potatoes had a crust on it, from sitting under a heat lamp. The bread was the only good menu item. I would come here for a beer or wine and to look around as the ambiance is nice. I say beer or wine since they only have to open it and can’t make it worse. The valet guy was great. As for the rest of the staff, they seemed unhappy and none of them said even a friendly hello. Seems like the recruit their wait staff from Chuck E Cheese. I would suggest never dining here until they find a chef who can cook and run a kitchen and a professional to run the front of the house and clean up the wait staff and service. Overall I suggest a strong “Stay away”!

    This is one of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The restaurant building is an old train station that they have kept updated without losing its' heritage. The food is sensational and offers a wide variety of options. We were seated in the room overlooking the city and the river which was most enjoyable.

    We had lunch on a Monday so it was not busy at all. The soup and appetizers were served quickly but the main course took forever and was not impressive at all. The escargot burnt and the burger, too dry. Could Monday have been was the chef's day off? Although, the place was gorgeous and we were seated overlooking the river.

    We were very disappointed in the prime rib. We know it's supposed to be rare, but it was just about still mooing. It wasn't cooked at all. Chocolate fountain should be monitored. I saw a child picking through the strawberry bowl with her hands. That's gross. We were also disappointed that there really wasn't a sundae bar anymore. $42/person is not a value anymore. The quality isnt there anymore and there used to be more variety. We spent over $300 and left disappointed.

    I recently dined at the Grand Concourse Sunday Buffet with my family, a tradition we uphold once a year. Unfortunately, like previous ones, this visit left much to be desired. The food was consistently lukewarm, and service could have been faster. Additionally, the overall value for the price paid could have been better. It's concerning that a buffet-style meal would have entrées not served at the correct temperature. I also had reservations about the cleanliness of the facility. In summary, my experience at the Grand Concourse Sunday Buffet could have been better, and I hope improvements can be made to enhance the dining experience for future customers.

    I should have complained but I did not. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm with blood from the steak. I asked for medium well steak. It was tough. The food took a long time to arrive. I was hungry which is why I did not complain. My meal was subpar!!

    Went soon after they opened. Not quite yet busy so it was quiet and peaceful. Jason, our server, was super helpful and friendly. Cocktails were very good. Wine list was complete with various choices from all over the world. Food was spectacular, albeit pricey, but worth it. Would definitely go back.

    As always, dinner was fabulous! All five of us loved our meals. Our waitress, Stacy was terrific - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional! There is not a prettier restaurant, anywhere as well. We live out of town but always go to the Grand Concourse when we are in town. 😊

    Dined at the Grand Concourse twice while staying at the Sheraton and attending the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival. Lunch on Saturday and then Brunch on Sunday. The lunch menu, food, service and atmosphere were all very good. My wife had the scallops and I had the filet. We each had soup as a first course. The clam chowder was better than the fish soup and the filet was better than the scallops. The Brunch is a great brunch with omelet, pasta, and carving stations that add to a large assortment of buffet dishes. Kinda pricey at $42 each but you won’t go away hungry. This seems to be the best dining option in the station square area.

    Met a friend for lunch and we had beautiful salads. The gentleman who took care of us was very attentive and made sure our glasses were full and we were satisfied with our meals. We were able to take our time catching up with each other and did not feel rushed to leave after our meal.

    My husband and I went for Sunday brunch buffet and it was awful. The food including the meat was cold. I understand that we were there for the last hour of the buffet but I saw no staff come out and replenish any of the buffet food within the last hour of us being there. We paid over $100 for a very disappointing experience which is a shame because the restaurant is beautiful.

    Great food, service & atmosphere. Our positive experience started when we walked in ahead of our scheduled reservation time, due to an event immediately preceding our dinner ending early, and the restaurant being able to accommodate our new time for dinner. We had a great view of Pittsburgh and our server Marissa was so friendly and attentive. The food & drinks were awesome so we all had a great dinner experience.at the Grand Concourse!

    Beautiful, historical building!! We had time before our reservation and so, we sat at the bar for a drink. We dined for Sunday brunch and enjoyed a wide variety of food selections like fresh made donuts and waffles along with made-to-order omelets. Our servers were attentive during our entire visit.

    Had reservations for 8:15 and arrived at 7:55 and was told it would be a one hour wait. They were not going to honor my confirmed reservation until I strongly objected. We were seated at 8:35 and waited 30 minutes before a waiter came to the table for one minute and then disappeared again. We were not served until 10pm. Food was very average and not worth the price. This was my grand daughter’s birthday dinner and it was ruined by the grand concourse. I will never return and I will spread the word for everyone to avoid this substandard place.
