Our food was terrible. Ordered snapper as recommended. Very greasy. Crabmeat on top cold and soggy. Salad not fresh.
Overall poor atmosphere. For the money very disappointing.
Would not recommend.
I would recommend on the provision that a reservation be made on an off night that a dinner service was offered. This was a chaotic situation, poorly organized, and people were scrambling everywhere. It is not the reason anyone would want to dine at Grand Concourse. I would have gladly paid much more for a dinner service than the dinner buffet, which cheapened the entire experience. Unsupervised children were everywhere, mixing with elderly with canes trying to get in lines. That is not the fault of the Grand Concourse, but certainly they should take such considerations into account when they decide that a buffet at Easter is the way to go.
My husband and I were very pleased with the variety and quality of the food served in the dinner buffet. The lamb and prime rib were very tasty; the ham was a bit dry. The seafood, side dishes and desserts were very good. I just wish that the dinner buffet had been advertised more in the website.
We will not return on an Easter Sunday. The food stations were placed inconveniently and were not stocked adequately. Noise level was at the headache volume. People clogged passageways. It was an experience which we hope not to replicate. We will still come to the Grand Concourse at other less mobbed times.
FABULOUS VENUE FOR ONE OF T H E BEST SUNDAY BRUNCHES AVAILABLE IN THE AREA.
GREAT PLACE TO TAKE VISITORS TO PITTSBURGH BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC BUILDING . FOOD
DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.
Wonderful food. One complaint... They had a Pasta bar, which is wonderful for people that don’t have Celiacs Disease. Like really, you couldn’t have one pasta option that was gluten free?
Came for Easter brunch, it was overly crowded, loud and service was slow. The buffet is stretched out sooo far that by the time you get your food everything is cold. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the way the buffet is laid out also. Got french toast for the kids and there was no syrup, you had to go all the way across the place to get it at where the waffles are set up! Employees around the buffet couldnt tell where anything was either, it took 3 asks before someone knew where that syrup was! Unfortunatly, one employee barely understood or spoke English also. I had a party of 10 there that day and all said it was not a good experience! Overly priced! The Sunday brunch price is increased just because its a Holiday too! $42.00 a person and kids price was up also! Sorry, but anyone with a 7 year old knows they dont eat over $20.00 worth of food! I will never, repeat NEVER come back to this buffet again! I think it is so wrong to overcharge guests just because its Easter, its the same food!! This experience put a damper on everyones Holiday! No Thanks! Will not be back...
First time there for Easter. It was a great experience. Everything was awesome. I will be returning and told everyone how nice everything was. Thank you
Where do I begin!! As we entered the lobby full of waiting guests , it seemed like it would be impossible to fit all the people waiting into the restaurant BUT The very enthusiastic front desk sat us within minutes for our 1:00 reservation. They did it with a smile. We were seated at a beautiful table overlooking the city and immediately approached by our server Casey. Once we placed our drink order, We were greeted with Easter wishes and a welcome to the restaurant by a very pleasant well dressed manager named Colin. What a very nice touch To start our Easter brunch out. We began our journey stopping at food station to station , enjoying all of that was offered. The food was delicious and every station was full at all times and maintained by very happy employees. Throughout the day I noticed the manager Colin popping up everywhere! He would be at a table greeting guests , and then checking on tables that were eating while clearing plates, at one point I saw him delivering drinks to a large group of diners while saying hello to those walking past him. I thought for a quick second he must have a twin. He covered a lot of ground!! After we wrapped up having brunch on our way home we could not stop talking about what a great choice it was to have brunch at the Grand Concourse!! The food was amazing ! It was very pleasant to see such a warm friendly staff working together while having fun on such a busy day. It starts from the top and I am sure it’s attributed to the leadership of Colin and the other managers. Top-notch all around!! Book a reservation , they will not disappoint!!! ❤️
Grand Concourse is one of those places you go because grandparents/parents went there for a special occasion. Too bad the menu probably hasn't changed with the times. Overpriced and not that special. Only treat is the architecture inside
Sunday Brunch is delicious here!
You can't go wrong with Easter brunch at the Grand Concourse. Food was excellent. Service was exceptional. Gabby, our server, made sure everything was just right, to include taking our family photo.
We had friends from Washington DC visiting and we all enjoyed our lunch.
we had a reservation, waited about 10 minutes past our reservation time, i saw our waitress walk in while we were waiting, i wasnt happy we had to wait on late staff. otherwise everything else was perfect, the food the service the environment!
Great meal in a historic landmark with an amazing river view!! Romantic dinner if you are seated in room overlooking water. Wait staff was wonderful! Fresh seafood presented nicely. Great unique cocktail menu.
We celebrated our grandson's 2nd birthday at the Grand Concourse because he so loves trains! The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our server Jenna was wonderful. She was extremely attentive to our needs and we couldn't have been happier with our restaurant choice. A wonderful experience!
The food and service were excellent. The view of the river and city skyline was an added bonus.
Never disappoints . Excellent food, friendly staff. Always a treat to visit.
We had the best food and waitress ever. Can't wait to return.
The food is superb, excellent service and a sweeping view of Pittsburgh’s golden triangle
Wonderful experience. Food was delicious. Wait staff very personable. We will definitely going back.
I really enjoyed the river room setting and view of the city. All the food was excellent. Server was very polite and accommodating.
Wonderful brunch. Muffins biscuits/gravy and small desserts were to only things that didn't exceed expectations. Waffle bar was great. Turned at into our desserts with ice cream and toppings. Variety was enormous. Service was amazing. Chicken, prime rib, ham, eggs, oh and I can't forget the homemade donuts! Sat by the windows overlooking the rivers. So nice.
As restaurant owners, we came to this establishment with high expectations. Our server Herb was the most knowledgeable and well seasoned server we have ever seen. The attention to detail on every level was by far a diamond above all. This place can definitely be accommodating to all desires of food entertainment. Definitely an American icon.
The ambiance is wonderful. It is always a pleasure to walk into that building. All of the staff were friendly & efficient. The food was outstanding. That includes appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. We had a party of three and all of us loved our food. Additionally, the alcoholic beverages were most enjoyable. I tried a "Smokey Manhattan" which provided a change of pace preparation of an old favorite. We love eating at the Grand Concourse and have been there many times for dinners and the Sunday Brunch. My family and I love it there!
The server was fantastic!! And the building has a lot of character but the food was awful. I would not be surprised if some of the food was frozen and then fried - it was fried to death.
Excellent lunch. Great service too.
Seating in the front room that has a view of the city was a little tight. We felt squeezed in. Food was very good and servers were very attentive. Would definitely recommend.
A bit pricey for poor services. my last two times there my server wasn’t pleasant or attentive. Wanted French toast was ask how many I said three she looked back and laughed and said well I have two right here. I said that’s fine I will take it. Not too happy with my services. Please improve
Sat at 2:10 after others were seated for a 2:00 reservation. That is my only complaint. Service otherwise was wonderful, excellent staff-very attentive. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was good. Clean throughout.
Beautiful location, the inside of the restaurant is grand and very nicely restored. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious with so many choices on the brunch buffet and again, the restaurant itself was worth going just to see the beautiful interior and view along the river.
Meets the expectations of the reputation. Food is wonderful, a great variety.
As always, great food and great service! Lauren, our server was pleasant and attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed!
Food was very good. Beautiful building. Service could have been a little better. Slow at refilling drinks. Had reservations but still had to wait 25 min for our table.
Our brunch was very nice the restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious. The service was just so so. There weren’t enough people working at the various food stations and the staff was less than friendly. Overall we had a very nice experience but the service aspect could really be improved upon.
Our waiter was great let me say that first. I never had to wait for coffee. The food was less than desirable. Some food was below temp the eggs were awful the fruit was unripe. The pancake station griddle was filthy omg yuk!! The food being all over the place was inconvient an would be hard for those with mobility issues .Our table moved everytime we took a bite to eat. The host was awesome he went to great lengths to take our picture. For the price I expected way better than the casino which is half the price an is NEVER dirty an food is always fresh and of temp. Highly disappointed. Will not reccomend or return.
We had a lovely time celebrating my mother's birthday. Herb was a wonderful waiter who was a lovely host. It was my second time celebrating my birthday there as well and we were just as pleased if not more so.
A wonderful restaurant in Pittsburgh that I have been going to for years. Still the best after all these years
Outstanding service. Awesome atmosphere and highest quality food. Perfect place to make a lasting memory. Our waiter Herbert was the best.
Lovely old train stations with a beautiful interior. Menu was diverse and the food excellently prepared. This was a second visit and the results both time were consistently good. Very fine European-style waiter during first visit who was very personable and skilled.
