The service was poor. We made a reservation and still had to wait 45 minutes before being seated. We spent over an hour there without drinks. We got our drinks to only find out there menu had run out of many items and were limited. We had to ask the manager for water because no one ever brought it to us. Terrible experience.
Won’t be going back. Overpriced food and terrible service.
Menu got smaller and prices increased by $4-8 since last week. The menu on their own website is not accurate. Service was very lacking. She didn't know the specials and wouldn't say what they were out of until we went to order. The kitchen ran out of spaetzle and mashed/smashed potatoes before 5pm. How the heck can you not prep enough of a main side dish? It was amateur weekend!
Very good food and service. Can't wait to go back.
Fabulous food! Wonderful service! Great ambiance!
Great food and awesome atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Their appetizer pretzels "Brezlen" were amazing!! They came with two sauces (one Beer cheese and Black Bear Mustard). We ended up taking a pint of the Black Bear mustard sauce home with us, we loved it! The rest of our food was good. We will definitely return.
Our evening at the Harmony Inn was not great. We had a large party, so we tried very hard to get reservations ahead of time to make sure that they could accommodate us. I called the restaurant 13 times over two days and only received an answer once. When my call was answered, the girl just said she would have to get it approved and then hung up. We finally gave up and drove from Slippery Rock to the restaurant the day before to get our reservation set up. The girl I talked to that day was super helpful and set up a reservation for 20 people for the next evening. A couple hours before our reservation, someone at the Inn changed it from 20 to 15 people without our knowledge. When we arrived, I showed them proof of our 20 person reservation and was met with annoyance, even though they had changed it. Before they were ready to seat us, our elderly uncle sat at an outside table as he is unable to stand for long periods. A man who claimed to be the executive chef then yelled at and berated him for sitting there. When my mother went over to smooth things over, the man continued to yell at her. He could have nicely explained that my uncle couldn’t sit there or found somewhere else for him to sit. Instead, he choose to yell at a disabled elderly man. It was really awful. This man also complained to our faces about our party being larger than the reservation, even though I had proof that our reservation was for 20 people. They should tell this man to stay in the kitchen, as he obviously does not know how to effectively deal with customers.
The food was fine - a bit overpriced for the portions, but we were okay with that. Our waitress Kaylie and the hostess who seated us were both great. They made the evening slightly better. However, after being yelled at by the chef and having to drive the whole way down there to get any answers about a reservation, the evening was not that enjoyable. We have spent lots of time and money at NCBC over years and this was very disappointing.
I wanted to try this restaurant and went there on a Sunday evening to have an evening out with friends. When we go there, I tried to order a beer that was produced by the restaurant/brewer themselves. After ordering three beers, I was told that they did not have any of those beers left currently. Ok, I asked her to recommend a beer and I ordered that one. When going to eat, I placed my order and we told that they were out of the Salmon that I had ordered and also that they were out of another item on the menu. How can you be out of things when the purveyor is right across the street. Sysco has a big operation not even a half mile from the restaurant. Send someone over to pick up the Salmon. I was most disappointed in the restaurant and will not be back any time soon.
Enjoyed outdoor dining on a lovely June evening. Service was about perfect! (thank you Michelle!) Food is excellent - enjoyed the roasted salmon and chicken spaetzle and both were expertly prepared. A very welcome change from typical fare out there. Recommend for special event or casual dining.
Great restaurant, super friendly people and the food is excellent!!! Will be back!
For anniversary dinner, we absolutely loved the setting, meal, and service. We will certainly be back!!
Our first time. We will be back. Our entrees were delicious. The only disappointment was the size of the sides. $3 for a side of cole slaw that amounted to 3 -4 bites.
I hosted a veteran reunion. The managerial staff made contact prior to the event to discuss seating arrangements. We had a few hearing impaired members in our party. The food was phenomenal, service just right and the ambiance added to our already rich conversation.
We just moved to the area and this place is so far our favorite restaurant. Amazing food and service. Highly recommend!
Food- different, but tasty. Spaetzel more like rissoto. Kind of sticky. But TONS of mushrooms and steak was AMAZING!
Beef and Wec- bun- way too hard. But meat was delicious.
Fried pickles and horseradish sauce was AMAZING!
Root Beer FANTASTIC.
Pricey- but ok for the ambiance and environment.
The service was fantastic. The ambiance is pretty cool. The food, not so good. Been there in the past and it was wonderful. No taste to the brat. Sent it back once because the mustard took the breath out of me. My wife tried it and said it was the worst thing ever. It was on the brat sandwich. The mustard on the pretzel was good.
Fun place and great staff!
Great food and good beer! Can't wait to go back!
Enjoyed our night out at the Harmony Inn for a casual date.
I got the Reuben and my husband got the black bear burger. We got the pretzels and wings as an appetizer.
The pretzels were great. We both enjoyed the mustard dipping sauce. The wings were ok. Not bad just nothing to write home about.
My husband never put his burger down, so it goes without saying it must have been very enjoyable.
My Reuben was huge. We ended up bringing half of it home for lunch the next day.
Recommend for a casual atmosphere for a different vibe.
Super good food, always a great place to eat with family!
We had a wonderful date night at Harmony Inn. We got an appetizer of potato pancakes, and they were good not great. But we both loved our dinner. I got the appetizer Buffalo chicken flatbread. My husband got the chicken spatzle. He also loves and I mean loves Firehouse Red, and we were there around 5:30, and it was already kicked. He only got one drink.
Pretzels and most appetizers are great. Try the buffalo chicken flatbread too.
We went for mother’s day and had a great experience. Our waitress was fantastic. Disappointed that they were out of the prime rib but that’s to be expected on a holiday. Very special meal. A little pricey but worth it.
The band in the bar was great! Food was good, service was fast.
The service was impeccable! And I love the atmosphere. It is so charming.
I loved that I could make a reservation and we were seated timely. Our waitress was fantastic friendly and was there when we needed her despite it being an obvious busy day since it was Mother’s Day. I like the atmosphere but the food didn’t seem to measure up to what I had recalled from being there prior a year or so ago and as compared to other restaurants I frequent. We got an appetizer and the three of us ordered three separate meals and none of them were very stellar. Again I don’t want to complain because the food was cooked properly but it wasn’t as good as other places I frequent for the price. I am sure I will be back however I will look to try get a different item on the menu to see if I can find something that I can truly enjoy.
Wonderful atmosphere, pleasant and attentive staff. Food was very pleasant. A wonderful meal leaving you feeling pleased with the experience.
The only thing I could possibly complain about was the mimosas were almost all orange juice. Otherwise all was great
We always love eating out at the Harmony Inn, the food is excellent and the outdoor patio is great!
Lovely space with a warm small country inn atmosphere. Love the German food especially the vegetarian options and stay for the ghost stories!
Be aware if you have more than 4 in your party, you will be required to walk up and down a flight of steps. This was a problem for my mother. I wish I had known ahead of time. Service was great as was the food!
The Inn is quaint and beautiful, fun to walk up the old stairs. Our server was very personable and fun. Unfortunately, two of entrees requested were out. The salad was too much lettuce, needs more vegetables.
Mother’s Day lunch
Food was great
Sever was sweet
Bartender needs to learn what mimosas. Severed in a wine glass and took a very long time because she didn’t know how to make them
We had a private room for the six of us and it couldn’t have been better.
The food was really good, as well as drinks, and great casual but lively atmosphere. Issues were sanitary: the server only had her mask on about half the time, and also the menus (plastic coated) were not clean, clearly had been used and not wiped in between customers . So if you’re super Covid-cautious, this is probably not the place for you.
Great service and even better food! Will definitely be going back soon.
