When I asked about it upon entry, I was made to feel like a bother. The hostess said I needed to do it online. (I have booked events for years and this is a first.) I'd called multiple times, leaving messages - and they were never acknowledged or returned. After I was seated, I asked the server if I could speak to someone to at least find out if the date was available. A gentleman came to the table, and kept pushing me to check online, saying they have nothing to do with the bookings. (The space is literally in your restaurant. How would anyone know?? He did at least let me know the date was taken.)
