The Pump House
Our server Patrick was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the food and beverages!!! Table always clean!!
Good was good but had a tour bus in while we were there.
Service was great, attentive, and the venue charming. The food was excellent, and exceptional was the accommodation for gluten free requirements, plenty to choose from! If you go away hungry, it’s your own fault! Great experience!!!
Wonderful time. First time here, will be back in the near future.
third visit... great food. We had 'dessert first' and it was fabulous !
One word "Excellent" we went two nights in a row for dinner
The restaurant is good in Fairbanks, what you could ask more in such a small town. However, based on the location, the price is not cheap.
Last night of vacation in Alaska and wanted nice dinner. This fit expectations well.
The parking lot was so full, I thought for sure we'd be waiting at least thirty minutes just to order. Not so. Our order was promptly taken, and we were provided with some yummy bread as we waited (not long at all) for our delicious and well-prepared meals. Good experience, and we shall return!
So glad we came here ! Great food AND the desserts are so yummy !
The Pump House exceeded any of my expectations: the decoration was amazing - I loved the bear receiving the clients -, the service was friendly and courteous and the elk I ate was so delicious! I felt like a king there. Thank you, The Pump House! Looking forward to being in this restaurant again.
Excellent food, good service, laid back, relaxed atmosphere.
Great prices compared to other restaurants of similar menu.
Overall great experience.
Great brunch with bottomless mimosas, though it is a little pricey especially if you're not drinking
I had dinner with the family. The food was amazing! The wine selection paired well with my risotto and the kids loved their dessert
Great Service this visit! Food was excellent as always. Pump House is one of my favorite places to eat!
Fairbanks seems to be a bit shy and really good restaurants but this is definitely one of them. We were visiting Fairbanks with some friends and our server at another restaurant we enjoyed (Lavelle's) suggested the Pump House. We were not disappointed.
My husband and friend shared the seafood platter. Although they were a little disappointed it did not feature king crab, they liked the turner(?) crab that was featured that night. These are 2 guys with hearty appetites and they were quite satisfied sharing the platter. Everything was fresh and tasty!
The seafood chowder is outstanding. I wish I'd had room to have some on my own, but I did get a taste of my husband's. I'll definitely have some when I next visit.
I had the alaska salmon that was featured that evening. It was delicious. Perfectly cooked, i.e. not over-done. It did have a little too much butter sauce for my taste, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The asparagus that accompanied the entree was also perfectly done.
This is a fun, albeit LOUD, place. The decor is rustic, with many Alaska artifacts and collectibles. I took a peek in the lounge and it looked like a great spot for enjoying cocktails.
I can't wait to visit Fairbanks again, in a different season so I can view the scenery at the Pump House and enjoy another great meal.
My daughter ordered the 10oz filet mignon medium well. The first attempt it came out bloody and darn near rare. We sent it back and on the second attempt it came back charcoaled (burned) and it had a hair in it. That wasn’t satisfactory so we tried again and we asked them to start over with a new filet... the waitress came back and asked if we minded the 10oz Filet be butterflied in order to reduce the cooking time. No problem. When she brought the third attempt back it wasn’t a butterflied 10oz Filet but a 6oz butterflied filet and the damn thing was still rare inside. By this time my daughter gave up and said she wasn’t hungry. My meal was cold because I was waiting to eat until my daughter got her food. My wife and two other daughters meals were fine as were desserts (the one for my daughter that didn’t get an entree was comp’d)
One of the best places to eat in a Fairbanks. It’s been around for a long time and it consistently delivers good food. It’s a little pricey if you’re on a budget but it’s a delectable cuisine. My only complaint would be the service can sometimes just be okay, but the food counteracts all of that. Would highly recommend to locals or tourists.
Very accomplished chef with a very local inspired menu. So don't do normal item fare, as the seafood and game (elk, moose, deer) dishes offer greater tasty meals on your visit. If eating here during the winter, plan meal near daylight, so you can really enjoy the Chena riverside vistas. Otherwise, after dark, this spot offers a great bar and game room to enjoy drinks with friends as you all review pictures of recent Fairbank's adventures.
A place to dine whenever you're in Fairbanks - regardless of the weather.
Love the atmosphere. Great food at reasonable prices for Fairbanks.
Had an awesome girl’s night out thanks to Sara!!! She was so supportive of our space and need to chat. Love, love, love the vegetarian lasagna!!
We will be back!! Thank you for great food and service!!!
This was a very special evening for my family. It was our first time all vacationing together in over 30 years and we were celebrating milestone birthdays for half of us and we could not have asked for a nicer experience than that provided by Pump House for our special birthday dinner-- thank-you!
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and had hoped for a semi-quiet dining experience. The only complaint my husband and I have was the noise level. We had a lot of difficultly hearing each other talk sitting across from each other. Two separate groups of more than 5 people each, were sitting adjacent to each other. The volume of both groups together was a little much. We realize the space is limited, but maybe sitting two large groups that close might be a distraction to other guests as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. We will definitely be back. Our waitress was great!
We had a lovely evening. We were seated at a view table as requested and our server, Clarissa, promptly appeared & continued to take excellent care of us all evening! Our food was delicious, beverages spot on & we never felt rushed !
Waiter was not very personable. He also was trying to rush us to leave. I did not pay for ticket but I’m sure it was over 300.00. We did not need to be rushed.
The senators sirloin is the best steak in town. One of the best restaurants in Fairbanks. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
Overall a fantastic evening with great food and service. My only criticisms would be that it was a bit cold in the dinning areas and with it being Valentine’s Day, I thought dimming the lights and candles at the tables would have been a better.
Excellent choice for really good food and a nice atmosphere. A little pricey for everyday but a good value for special occasions. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Fairbanks.
A short drive out of downtown area and well worth it. Arrived early to enjoy a drink in the lively bar area. A huge dining area (little bit chilly if near door) and a large bar area. Lots of choice for food, large portions. My squash risotto with fish (think it was halibut) was fantastic. Ate here twice while in Fairbanks and both times did not disappoint.
The food was delicious and the service was very good.
My better half and I have always loved the Pumphouse for Sunday brunch and this time was no different. Though I did miss the fresh shrimp this time, the seafood salad was more than an adequate substitute! Our waiter was on the ball and kept our glasses full and the rest of the staff was there to clean the table almost before you finished your plate! We've always loved the Pumphouse and will be back again. Soon!
Great service, Alex was knowledgeable of the menu and was very friendly . Lots of options and really an amazing meal
Outstanding all around great food and historical setting,
The food was fantastic, and the environment was so friendly! We had been recommended this place, and now would gladly reccomend it to anyone looking for a nice restaurant for a date night!
The Elk meatloaf and Reindeer tenderloin were fabulous
The food was delicious. I was disappointed that my husband's pop was flat with no carbonation in it. The server was a foreigner and didn't know what we meant as we explained it, just said, "I just got it from the tap." We were also disappointed that the dinner meal didn't come with a salad. Food that we did have tasted delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful.
Very poor service very poor service very poor service very poor service very poor service very poor service. When asked what something was waitress didn’t know. Waitress didn’t come and check on us hardly at all. Waitress said it’s a fancy restaurant but I could make better mashed potatoes and I’m no chef. Crab was good but only came with a tiny amount of melted butter and since the waitress never checked on us we couldn’t ask for more.
We had a wonderful evening. Great food & service! Our waiter even told us the history of The Pump House.
We enjoyed the food and service. A bit pricey but overall a positive experience. :-)
