They have a stellar all-Piedmont wine list, fresh handmade pasta, and locally sourced ingredients, so you can be sure your dish is fresh and delightful. They are also connected to the Apertivo Bar, Artusi, where you and friends can have a cocktail or two before dinner. On the hunt for a delicious taco? El Grito is a new taqueria in an old, brick warehouse in South Lake Union. Launched by the same folks as Re:public, this is a lively Mexican restaurant in a funky old space. Everything around the restaurant is super modern, so they very much stand out as an anachronism. But it is also the perfect place for a restaurant like this that has a cool new take on traditional foods/drinks from Mexico, including amazing tacos, enchiladas, and superb margaritas — you may want to have more than one.

Sometimes you just need a really REALLY fun oyster bar to hang out in on the weekend. The Walrus and the Carpenter is here to save the day! They've been around for a few years but that’s good news because the lines have slowed down and the cool restaurant is still cranking out oysters for mostly locals who don’t care about moving on to the next trend once they have found an amazing place. The restaurant has a beautiful marble bar where you can sidle up and order oysters any way you like them, along with a cocktail, beer, or glass of wine of your choice.

This was one of the best “small” restaurants in America for the last decade — they have since upgraded to some big new digs because of their spike in popularity! Art of the Table turned out a constantly changing seven-course tasting menu in a cozy space that feels a lot like eating right in the chef’s home. Now they feature the same local farm-to-table menu of courses, plus an a la carte menu, in a giant new space that finally meets all the demand for dinner here.

They serve a fusion of continental and Korean specialities with flavors you have probably never even imagined before! Their culinary fearlessness is something to admirable and the chefs do crazy things like scatter cubes of acorn jelly in a cucumber salad, drape short ribs in chili sauces and fermented tofu, and serve Chinese broccoli with walnut pesto. There’s no telling what you will encounter here and the vibe is swanky and modern and perfect for a memorable meal.

Salish Lodge does a funny thing with honey. They serve delicious buttermilk biscuits here and when they come out to the table at brunch, your waiter lifts the honey dipper high up in the air and drizzles it into a golden pool right where the butter is melting on your biscuit! They have been perfecting this waterfall-routine since 1919, when the first Salish Lodge opened alongside Snoqualmie Falls. The restaurant owners that opened the new version in 1988 decided to bring the ritual back, revisiting a famous old chapter of history in the city.
