Hawaii Regional Cuisine | Upcountry, Maui

We stayed here for one night and dined after watching the sunset on Haleakala. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and were efficient considering how busy the restaurant was. The menu is good, with plenty of choice. My husband enjoyed his filet mignon, my daughter chose pesto linguine with fire roasted vegetables which she said was delicious and I had the panko coated snapper which was served with kale, heritage tomatoes, mashed potato and a lovely sauce - my description does not really do it justice as it was not only beautifully presented but tasted amazing. We would have loved to choose something from the dessert menu, but were just too full! After dinner my husband and I had a glass of port sitting by the fire, before walking the few steps to our comfortable room. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to others. More

Discover Upcountry

Experience the best of untouched Hawaii in the rural Upcountry area. This is where the trendy farm-to-table city restaurants are getting their ingredients. In fact, you can tour a farm and pick the ingredients in your own lunch. If you’re concerned about the atmosphere of local eateries, don't be. Even the best restaurants have a laid-back vibe with simple menu options like crab dip. The Hawaiian cuisine is as straightforward and fresh as the area. For lunch, sample a fruity acai bowl or a vegan-friendly pono bowl with quinoa, tofu, and kale. For a special dinner, treat yourself to braised Maui tempeh. Sushi and sashimi are a popular local alternative to the traditional fare, though many restaurants offer both.
