Consistently the best place in Albuquerque. The Rembes have created a venue that draws a person in for a special experience. We are fortunate here in the North Valley to have their talent, Chef Jonathan's talent, as well as that of Sous Chef Daniel, Pastry Chef Heather, and Certified Sommelier Dylan. Thank you for this Pearl of the Valley. More

Vernon's really plays the part of a speakeasy during the prohibition era. There is no restaurant sign out at the street or anywhere on the building. The entrance is not easily marked. My wife said, "Where is it" as we walked around what looks to be a shopping center. It was kind of fun looking for the entry. Of course, when you find the door with the look through portal you have to give the password Vernon's gives you after you make your reservation. After they open the door and let you in, you step inside what looks like a library with books on shelves. Then, after welcoming you and making sure you're not a cop they pull on the bookshelf that opens to the speakeasy and voila you're ready for dinner and drinks. My wife and I got a kick out of it. Once inside, the ambiance is quiet and semi-elegant. There's a fireplace in the main dining room. On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, they have entertainment. We went on Tuesday night and they had very nice Jazz music playing. The ambiance was very relaxing. They have a grand piano in what they call the Black Diamond Lounge where I'm sure the last four days of the week is the entertainment they provide. You may see an actor or two having dinner there too, but the rules say, "Don't ask them for an autograph or picture or you may have to speak to the bouncer". You'll see the many pictures of actors hanging on the wall when you first enter the library portion of Vernon's. My wife and I saw two recognizable faces the evening we were there. I can certainly understand why they would eat and drink at Vernon's. It's so private and so hidden from the general public that they could eat there in total relaxation without getting inundated with requests for pictures and autographs. The service was better than anyplace I've ever been to in Albuquerque before and the food was superb! more than enough and we took some home. I recommend Vernon's for good food and service. More
