Open daily. Monday through Thursday from 11am-9pm. Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm. Sunday 10:30am-9pm.

Nestled in the cottonwoods, El Pinto was founded with 10 tables in 1962. Twin brothers John and Jim Thomas, carry on the family tradition and have expanded El Pinto into the quintessential "Spot" for healthy and fresh New Mexican cuisine. Experience an authentic Taste of New Mexico.

The Salsa Twins are pairing tradition with innovative healthy nutrition at El Pinto. El Pinto established the first and only Animal Welfare Approved laying hen program on property. 250 hens lay pasture raised eggs for daily use. An onsite green house produces over 5,000 lbs of organically grown greens.

Freshness is throughout El Pinto. El Pinto uses chile from Hatch, NM, pasture raised pork from Kyzer Farms, and local grass fed beef.

    I’ve been eating at El Pinto since 1971. It’s my favorite dining establishment in America. We make it a point to eat here every time we’re in Northern New Mexico. This visit was no exception. The coarse chips and salsa were great. My tamales with the extra spicy red sauce were excellent. Our server Fabian was efficient and brought extra sopaipillas and kept our water glasses full. Although the thermometer on our car said it was 90 degrees, the shaded outside seating and its associated ambiance were beautiful. We bought three quart bottles of salsa on our way out. It will last us about two months when we get home.

    My husband and I enjoyed delicious New Mexican cuisine late Sunday afternoon on the patio. My favorite dish is the combination plate #3 with a side of guacamole and chile con queso to share!

    I absolutely love this place. The red chili ribs are the best in the state...but at almost $50, its gotten very pricey. I'm sure the economy is to blame as well as the current administration, but it's gotten to a point where you have to start cutting out the expensive places and this might be the last time I go there for a while. :(

    The ambiance of El Pinto is unmatched! The patios are beautiful planted and decorated and pleasant regardless of it hot or cold outside. Service and food are very good but not top of their game. The place is huge so even when crowded it doesn’t feel packed It’s lovely for brunch or lunch

    The only negative was that the host could be more friendly. No greeting when we arrived at the desk. The service and food was delicious.

    Me and husband go the El Pinto every year for our anniversary dinner. We absolutely love it there, the staff is always so kind, the food is always so amazing, and the feel of the patio while eating can’t be beat. We went yesterday for our anniversary, everything was amazing. Our waitress was very sweet, but did forget to ask for our drink order, and would rush away from our table not giving us the chance to ask for the things we were needing. I don’t judge servers harshly as I have been one and it’s not an easy job. Overall another great anniversary dinner with them and will continue on with our tradition!
