The food and service were amazing!! Made my birthday dinner amazing and our server was amazing!
Thought the prime rib would have been better. Cooked good but a lot of tough spots.
We went for Mothers day, we'll never go here on a holiday again. The service was horrible. We had to flag down our waitress when we wanted something. I had to go look for her one time. She never came to check on us. The bake potatoes we're over cooked. Mac and cheese was watery, it's usually baked with a light curst on it. The bread was hard. Very disappointed!
Great service from Alex, he was helpful and friendly; reservation time was honored, food and drinks were great. A must place to visit.
Mother's day dinner. Reservations for dinner at 6PM. at 6:30 I asked how much longer we would need to wait ? The answer, "We have all these ahead of you." A non-answer. This guy was more interested in checking people in and seating those already there. In the meantime we are looking at open tables. When we were finally seated service was incredibly slow and the food was served piecemeal. Nothing was served together. The quality of our meals was blah. We have been to Black Angus on other occasions and found it to be comfortable and good food. This evening was a disaster.
My parents wanted to go to Black Angus for their 65th wedding anniversary. It held some fond memories for them. I made a reservation for 6 people at 6pm on the 11th of May. Half of our party arrived and were seated. We arrived a few minutes later and the hostess couldn't find the reservation . She found it a few minutes later but didn't know what table they'd been seated at. After questioning another hostess, she finally found the table and took us to it. I told her we were celebrating my parents 65th anniversary. It took almost 10 minutes for our waiter to arrive. We asked for another set of silverware and another glass of water as both were short on the table. Another 10-15 minutes passed before we received our water and silverware and our waiter started taking our orders. We told him about the anniversary as well. We were never asked if we wanted a cocktail, which we did and had to stop him before he left and request one. 10 minutes later our drinks arrived and it was at least another 15 minutes before our appetizers arrived. My husband and I shared the artichokes. Not that good. Messy and hard to eat. I wouldn't order them again. My filet and mashed potatoes were good. My husband had the smallest piece of salmon I've ever seen and a very small portion of rice pilaf. My parents had the prime rib. It was sliced so thin you could almost read through it. We took our dessert home. I realise it looked like a busy night for the restaurant, but this was a special occasion and the experience was mediocre at best. Our waiter, Miguel G. ( I had to look at the ticket to see what his name was.) virtually ignored us, seemed impatient and a bit frazzled. Kudos to the two busboys who were friendly and right on top of things. This was mine and my husbands first time at Black Angus and it will be our last.
Food was excellent, but service at this time we went could have been a little better. Normally we get excellent service.
Our server was great, food wasn't cooked to order but still tasty.
I made a reservation and when we arrived the only seating in the dining area was a booth. My mom is older and has back issues that will not allow her to sit in a booth, so we were seated in the bar. None of us drinks and we had to speak over the top of music that was good if you wanted to go to a bar. The guests who joined us were rather difficult and our bartender was so patient with them, it almost made up for the crappy location. The food was pretty good, and I felt the experience should have been better for what the meal cost, but overall it was an ok meal.
delicious prime rib and salmon. Great deal for Campfire if you have a coupon
Service was great, but the prime-rib was a bit tough.
Food and service are always great. One of the few places where it is quiet in the dining areas. Good deals if you have the coupons.
Food well prepared. Alex our waiter was excellent. Seating was on time and in a comfortable booth. We all chose the special Campfire Feast Dinner for two. The entree each of us ordered was the filet mignon, 6 ounce for an additional $3.00 per person. Mine was lass the 6oz but well prepared. My wife's filet was not a filet in appearance or texture. My guess is it was a tri-tip steak as was the "filet" served to one of the other diners. As a steak house, Black Angus needs to add some quality control to its butcher operation.
Went to celebrate my birthday with a party of 7. We had a great time, food was excellent, service was great.
Great as usual! Both my wife and I had a delicious dinner together everything was prepared perfectly and quickly. I always recommend this place to people when asked if I know where to get food.
Food was great ! Dale our server was exceptional as always. This Syeakhouse is always consistent.... Great Steaks ! Great time!
Food was great, service was excellent! Salmon portion was a lil small, but and in and all it was an awesome meal.
Dinner was quite good; the few problems (no potato, no steak topping) were handled well. The prices were a little high, but the food was fine. The booth we were sat at (in the back) was fine - quiet so we could carry on a conversation among all of us without having to yell. Service was good. We will be back
Came here on Easter Sunday and even though it was a busy day we didn’t wait for seating, our food was fresh and hot. I got the White Sangria and I was soooo delicious
My previous visit to the only Black Angus in Albuquerque was a disaster. I vowed at the time that I would not return. However, I decided to give it another try for Easter Sunday. The food was very good as we stayed away from steak as they never seem to be able to get it right, unless it's ordered rare or well done. Anything in between and it is never as it should be. Their salmon is always very good. Our server, Noria, was excellent!! The problem with this restaurant, as with many others, was the music. It was way too loud and I requested it be turned down. The manager said he would turn it down as much as he could because there were other guests to consider. I would venture to say, if he polled the other guests he would not get a favorable response as to how loud, unappealing, and tinny that music was. We come to a restaurant to be with friends, dine, and talk to each other. It was next to impossible to hear my friends across the table from me. Restaurants should have the volume so that it can be heard but as background music not the overpowering volume that was foisted upon us. I guess it will be a cold day in hell before I return to this restaurant again.
My wife and I have been dining at BA for many years. The 8 oz portion of prime rib, tasty as it is, seems a little fatty and meager. The brussel sprouts were excellent!
Love the wedge salad, but does it call for an up charge?
Our overall dining experience went really well and the food was outstanding. We will be back soon.
Great food! We were on a tight schedule and the waitress worked very hard to get our food to us as quickly as possible. She was a GEM!
This was a Wednesday eve dinner out with friends who decided that this was a chance to eat at a local restaurant with a menu with a wide selection of menu items. Some of us selected fish and steak entrees.
Black Angus prepares routine steakhouse fare dependably well with generous portions. The house salad is served on a large salad plate with a nice mixture of greens. I asked for blue cheese dressing and it was very tasty and had many visible chunks of the blue cheese, too. I must say that the service was excellent and that I have never been disappointed with the service on previous occasions either.
We made a reservation for 6:15. We got there a little early at 6 and there were plenty of empty tables and only one couple in front of us but the front desk lady told us we HAD to wait until our reservation time to be seated. She told us to go wait by the bar. So at 6:15 I went to go check on our table and they said they thought they already sat us. Then we got to our table and we got a waitress that seems like she hates life, even throwing a plate at the table at one point. I will not be back!
Food quality has improved significantly. Service was excellent. We moved to the bar to get happy hour drink prices, which surprisingly are not available in the regular dining room! It wasn't an noisy on a Friday night as we thought it might be, and we got a nice booth. Go early for this, however, because the bar area did fill up. We'll be going more often if we continue to have these positive experiences.
Everything about the experience was amazing our waitress was kind courteous and thoughtful and knowledgeable our service was exemplary the food was excellent and are witches even brought my fiance a hot fresh made chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top for his birthday
We had the "free lobster tail" with our steak. The lobster in the advertisement was 4 times larger than real life. The free lobster was less than 4 ounces, not the 8 or 12 ounce in the advertisement.
Typical Black Angus experience. Good service and good food. Quiet booths. It was a Saturday night and our OpenTable reservation allowed us to be seated the minute we walked in.
Service was slow which was strange since the restaurant was pretty empty.
The steaks were fatty and tough not what I expected from Black Angus.
Black Angus is usually a great place to eat dinner; however, the last two visits have left us wondering what has changed. The kitchen has failed to deliver the exceptional meals we are accustomed to. Our order of "medium rare" on both visits has not been fulfilled as we have received "medium" steaks with this last visit having charred steaks that were tough to cut into. The third person in our party tried the new king crab plate. Although the king crab was of decent size the actual size of the meat was less than expected because it was evident it was also over cooked and a bit dry. Truly disappointing considering our ticket was over $100 for just 3 people.
Everything was great food was wonderful service was wonderful overall great experience
staff was great - very attentive. The New York steak was very tough. other steak was fine. Hope they improve quality.
Usually Black Angus is top notch service and food at a great price. We always sit in the Bar area, this time we sat in the main dinning area in a booth for Valentine's day . The waitress was not our usual and did not want to joke around. Maybe a bad night for her - it definitely seemed so. My Rib eye steak was very grisly and most of it went to the dog. Shrimp/Prawns were over cooked. One of my wife's lobster's was old...Very strong old sea food flavor. All in all a poor valentines dinner celebration.... I did not want to ruin the evening and the waitress was already having as bad time anyway. Luckily I had awesome company!!! Every restaurant can have a bad evening.
But, w/ all that said, we've had awesome service and food up until then. Just make sure you're seated in the bar!!! The service/waitresses are better, along w/ the great food at an awesome price!
The food was very good and the atmosphere was Fantastic. Definitely recommend
Food was great. The hostess and waitress could have at least faked a smile. It was Valentine's Day after all!
Have been 3 different times. It is a decent place. It seems the portion size is a little smaller than prior visits. If you are looking for a value steak house, this is on par with Outback. If you are looking for a memorable spot....go with the elite chain places or local legend restaurants.
The service was perfect!!! Best I have ever gotten and the food...the food was beyond delicious.
