We made a reservation for 6:15. We got there a little early at 6 and there were plenty of empty tables and only one couple in front of us but the front desk lady told us we HAD to wait until our reservation time to be seated. She told us to go wait by the bar. So at 6:15 I went to go check on our table and they said they thought they already sat us. Then we got to our table and we got a waitress that seems like she hates life, even throwing a plate at the table at one point. I will not be back!
Food quality has improved significantly. Service was excellent. We moved to the bar to get happy hour drink prices, which surprisingly are not available in the regular dining room! It wasn't an noisy on a Friday night as we thought it might be, and we got a nice booth. Go early for this, however, because the bar area did fill up. We'll be going more often if we continue to have these positive experiences.
Everything about the experience was amazing our waitress was kind courteous and thoughtful and knowledgeable our service was exemplary the food was excellent and are witches even brought my fiance a hot fresh made chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top for his birthday
We had the "free lobster tail" with our steak. The lobster in the advertisement was 4 times larger than real life. The free lobster was less than 4 ounces, not the 8 or 12 ounce in the advertisement.
Typical Black Angus experience. Good service and good food. Quiet booths. It was a Saturday night and our OpenTable reservation allowed us to be seated the minute we walked in.
Service was slow which was strange since the restaurant was pretty empty.
The steaks were fatty and tough not what I expected from Black Angus.
Black Angus is usually a great place to eat dinner; however, the last two visits have left us wondering what has changed. The kitchen has failed to deliver the exceptional meals we are accustomed to. Our order of "medium rare" on both visits has not been fulfilled as we have received "medium" steaks with this last visit having charred steaks that were tough to cut into. The third person in our party tried the new king crab plate. Although the king crab was of decent size the actual size of the meat was less than expected because it was evident it was also over cooked and a bit dry. Truly disappointing considering our ticket was over $100 for just 3 people.
Everything was great food was wonderful service was wonderful overall great experience
staff was great - very attentive. The New York steak was very tough. other steak was fine. Hope they improve quality.
Usually Black Angus is top notch service and food at a great price. We always sit in the Bar area, this time we sat in the main dinning area in a booth for Valentine's day . The waitress was not our usual and did not want to joke around. Maybe a bad night for her - it definitely seemed so. My Rib eye steak was very grisly and most of it went to the dog. Shrimp/Prawns were over cooked. One of my wife's lobster's was old...Very strong old sea food flavor. All in all a poor valentines dinner celebration.... I did not want to ruin the evening and the waitress was already having as bad time anyway. Luckily I had awesome company!!! Every restaurant can have a bad evening.
But, w/ all that said, we've had awesome service and food up until then. Just make sure you're seated in the bar!!! The service/waitresses are better, along w/ the great food at an awesome price!
The food was very good and the atmosphere was Fantastic. Definitely recommend
Food was great. The hostess and waitress could have at least faked a smile. It was Valentine's Day after all!
Have been 3 different times. It is a decent place. It seems the portion size is a little smaller than prior visits. If you are looking for a value steak house, this is on par with Outback. If you are looking for a memorable spot....go with the elite chain places or local legend restaurants.
The service was perfect!!! Best I have ever gotten and the food...the food was beyond delicious.
I will soon either withdraw from Black Angus or open table simply because mine as some others reservations were lost or not established. After waiting half an hour to be seated the experience was very pleasurable.
Meal was good and noise level allowed for intimate conversation for our anniversary dinner.
First issue was when our steaks were delivered on bite 3 of our salads & when I mentioned it was too soon they offered to hold the steaks but we didn’t want them cold so bagged the salads.
Wait staff was actually bussing tables, which meant we didn’t get drink refills without asking & had to ask for our check as well. Waitress was very sweet & had a great attitude under the circumstances, just seemed over worked.
We rolled with the punches & still enjoyed our evening.
Quite good. The server was excelllent but had too many tables with large parties.
Was an overall good experience. The food was not the best for the price paid but it wasn’t bad. Waitress was great and attentive!
Service was quick and friendly, food was very good.
Although the service was a little slow, the amazing & perfectly cooked steak made up for it; I definitely plan on dining again. Great new menu, too!!
Customer service sucked, hostess mock a disabled man for asking for a table instead of a booth. Also once they moved us to a table everyone gave us the cold shoulder. Left before getting drinks. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
The waiter walked by us four times before he finally waited on us. I had prime rib that had been warmed in the microwave and my wife had soup that was cold.
Overall a good experience. Middle of the week dining, we were going for something hearty like a big well seasoned and cooked steak. Which was cooked per order. Once a year visit to Black Angus is worth it.
Our waiter was great. The food was dry and had a weird taste. The salad was sour. Yes sour. Too much lemon in the dressing. The steak I ordered medium and came out medium rare. Yuk,, the ribs were huge but extremely dry. I do believe it was like rubber.
Large party of 10 with a reservation. Service was good and fast. Food came out fast and was delicious. Only complaint is as a large party we were sat at 2 separate tables, a table and a booth which made our party feel very divided. Otherwise everything else was great.
food was good. The server seems like she had somewhere else to be. Salad came before the
This was the most disappointing steak date night ever. My husband had a NY strip, and I had a ribeye. Both were claimed to be 27+ days aged — I doubt it based on the lack of flavor for both cuts. The sides were unimpressive, too. Drinks weren’t strong at all. The server was the best part of the whole experience. For $120 with a tip, we were so disappointed that we had steak at home the night after. Now, that was good! Thanks, Costco butcher team!! Lesson learned, just stay home next time. We do not recommend this place for steaks.
Very good restaurant with good food and excellent service!
Our waitress was great, but not very clear on what specials were being offered. Service was really, really slow for a nearly empty restaurant. Steaks were sub-par, especially for the price. For the price we paid, there are much better restaurants in town.
Waiter was pleasant and we liked the atmosphere. It was new years eve and several open tables so not sure why our food took so long. After the long wait, my salmon was dry and over cooked and husbands steak slightly warm. They must have been short staffed? We paid about $100 for three and not worth it. We won't be returning... there are other steakhouse choices in ABQ.
We had the trio special. Very disappointing. The garden salad had very little in the way of vegetables and the bread was hard. Much different then in the past. The steak was stringy and very chewy. In fact, the only thing which was good was the fried shrimp. Probably will not be going back.
What an amazing place to go for a great meal! The management staff was very involved in our experience. The floor manager John Mark was pleasant, professional and treats his staff With courtesy and respect. I will definitely make this all go to spot for an excellent meal.
Our four person get-together was predictably wonderful. The food is always outstanding and good service to match.
Braised short ribs are fabulous!
Nice for a special occasion. The steaks and sides were good and our waiter was great. The only negative was the length of time it took to get our food and we were there fairly early for dinner, 5:30. Overall we enjoyed our meal.
Moderately high prices for very poor quality food. Prime rib was dry. Steak lacked marking. Overall, we were disappointed. We will not go back.
Service was great steak was tough. No wait to get in.
Enjoyed the evening. Nieces birthday..didn't feel rushed. Our waiter was wonderful.
Not impressed. Our first time to dine at Black Angus, and probably our last. My wife had a $20 per diner coupon for a sampler type dinner (top sirloin, lobster tail, fried shrimp) and wanted to try out this restaurant. Was not expecting the best steak ever, but my steak was loaded with gristle and barely edible. Lobster tail and shrimp were mediocre. My wife's steak was fine, tender and without gristle. For a few dollars more, we dined later in the week at another local steak house, The Cooperage . It was excellent.
We had a coupon so we decided to go to Black Angus. My husband was in the mood for steak and lobster. The coupon was for steak, lobster and shrimp. The service was great. Food arrived on time. The steak was tough, but the lobster and shrimp very good. The salads were good. My husband had the loaded baked potato and I had the mac and cheese. Delicious.
I ordered my filet medium rare and it was cooked correctly.
