Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
West Virginia's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
The food and drinks at Sargasso are outstanding. The atmosphere is beautifully done. We have friends who live and dine in New York and other major cities and they always say this is one of the best places on the planet. I have to agree. The presentation of the cuisine is imaginative, and everything is prepared to perfection. The bartenders are also expert in cocktail creation. The desserts are also outstanding. Truly five stars. Always a phenomenal culinary experience. From the Oysters Rockefeller to the Caesar with a secret twist to the Lemon Curd Blueberry cheesecake, this food is absolutely STELLAR! Presentation and mouthwatering flavor abound. Love the unique venue and the extra elbow room that the booths offer. Ask for Andrea as your server, she's superb. This place checks ALL of the boxes! Discover West Virginia
West Virginians sure how to enjoy good food; they created pepperoni rolls for the miners and, by extension, us. In making tasty meals, they thought of everything from breakfast to dinner. Breakfast delights range from homemade biscuits and gravy from scratch to buckwheat pancakes. If you desire soup, a morel-enhanced wild mushroom with cream of wheat will bring a smile to your face. Do you enjoy fresh seafood? West Virginia has delightfully fresh rainbow trout. West Virginia even serves up specialty hot dogs. They created the West Virginia Dog with a massive amount of toppings, such as slaw and chili, on a 15-inch English bun; it is a complete meal in itself.
