- BBrianVIPPortland / Oregon •7 reviews5.0Dined on Apr 21, 2025We love celebrating milestones—big or small—so tonight we raised a glass at Blacksmith to mark 8 years since our move to Bend! I kicked things off with a Hotter Pink—a bold mix of X-Rated liqueur (French vodka, Sicilian blood orange, mango, and passion fruit), Cascade Lakes vodka, sour mix, and a kick of jalapeño. Jim went classic with a crisp Crux Pils. I couldn’t resist the soup of the day: a creamy potato leek topped with crispy onions—absolutely delicious. For dinner, I had the wedge salad (always a favorite!) and a perfectly cooked flat iron steak. Jim went with the chicken Marsala, and let’s just say there were no leftovers on his plate. I saved a bit of steak—hello, tacos tomorrow! We skipped dessert because Jim made a cheesecake at home, and I whipped up a fresh strawberry sauce to go with it. Blacksmith never disappoints—it’s our go-to spot for celebrating life’s moments, and tonight was no exception.More infoThe Blacksmith RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Bend•4.4

Discover Bend
Bend is a beer lover's paradise. Microbreweries craft some of the most impressive IPA drafts in Oregon, and almost a third of the visitors to Bend come specifically for the beer. The restaurants range from super casual to upscale formal, and most of them specialize in American foods with a West Coast feel. Pan-seared rainbow trout, lobster scampi linguini, and Columbia River steelhead trout will remind you how close you are to the ocean. You can also keep your feet firmly on terra firma with bacon-crusted bison meatloaf, prime rib, or chicken fried chicken breast. Wherever you go, you'll find yourself surrounded by active tourists drawn to the neighborhood for great skiing, hiking, biking, and, of course, eating.
