The Brickhouse - Bend Ratings and Reviews
Not worth the price, left feeling misled based on menu prices and some of the higher-star reviews that led us to make a reservation. The restaurant was very loud and the hurried pace of the staff made us feel anxious, not relaxed. Like we were at a diner, not a steakhouse. One staff member actually RAN by our table with a rag to go clean off one behind us. The steak we ordered was $50 - at that price, staff should be trained on recommended preparation (medium rare v medium, etc) or chef's recommendation for the various cuts. The seafood pasta was not good overall - no flavor. I did, however, enjoy the scallops within it.
We sat in the bar area in the same side of the restaurant as the kitchen. A bit more care to not clank plates and glassware would have been appreciated as the jarring sounds also were anxiety producing in such a sound-radiating space. And we're not sensitive - it was just that loud. While not the restaurant's fault by any means, a small crowd came into the bar area to say hello to their friends...and by hello, I mean, loudly "Hey F#%$-face!" I had to ask the person to please not do that - I think management or bar staff should have controlled the situation to prevent it from feeling like a dive bar. They didn't order drinks, just stood there. Hardly the ambiance we were looking for based on the price.
Fun evening with friends. Our sweet waitress Savannah was very patient with all four of us as we chose our cocktails and meals and changed our minds too many times. Food arrived and it was prepared as promised. One lady had the crab cakes that are exceptional. The men had ribeyes that were delivered as ordered. I had the Filet Oscar that is my favorite and did not disappoint. Good wine selections and hand made cocktails; no premix. The mud pie was huge and incredibly good; we all shared one and it was ample. Definitely will return when we are visiting again.
We took a friend and her husband for her birthday. Neither had been before, but they were talking about going back before we finished our meal. The food was excellent, our server friendly, informative and attentive, and the ambiance polished yet relaxing. One of Bend's finest.
Brickhouse ALWAYS brings their "A" game. Nice staff, great food, really good atmosphere. Glenn is a magnificent waiter and makes your experience totally enjoyable. We love their food, mixed drinks are very well made and great wine list.
Our go to on date night.
My husband and I recently visited the Brickhouse Restaurant in Bend. We were seated promptly.
The service was very good.
My husband had Steak Oscar and loved it. He's had it in the past as well and its always great.
My dinner was okay. I probably wouldn't order it again
Came in with great expectations but was let down. Zucchini tempura: batter was laid on too thick and made it too oily and soggy and less crispy. Tempuras are usually crispy right? Lobster special: meat was over cooked and rubber like. The sweetness of the lobster meat was lost. Kind of doubt the “freshness”. Opa Fish special: over cooked no tow ways about this one massive fail. So looked forward to a piece of this fish but tasted like struggle meat.
The service was fantastic and the food was unbelievable! I had a filet mignon and OMG best steak I have ever had! It was so tender and full of flavor, just melted in your mouth. The cocktails are fantastic and no matter what you get it just pairs splendidly with whatever your eating, my boyfriend and I went there for a date. I had a winter citrus cocktail with dinner and wow wow wow! Id go again, it is a little pricey for 2 people it was over $100. But that's 2 entrees, a cocktail, and dessert (which by the way is fabulous, I recommend the crème brulee). Cheers!!!!
We have dined at Brickhouse many times. It’s our go to dinner place in downtown Bend. Food is always great, this time we enjoyed the Chiopinno. Wine selection is great as well. We like to request a table by the window, but that’s just us. Our server wasn’t as knowledgeable as we normally experienced at Brickhouse so that’s the only negative from this evening out.
Bend location was closed due to a power outage in downtown Bend. We were called and substitute reservations were secured in Redmond. Dinner was wonderful, server, manager and bar manager were beyond accommodating and more than friendly. It made our anniversary one to remember! Didn't want to LEAVE! We now have a NEW Central Oregon favorite restaurant!
Prefect for catching up with my daughter, restaurant was busy but not packed.
Great seasonal cocktails and service at the bar.
Dinner was all around good. Zucchini tempura was very good, but my Oso Bucco was outstanding all around.
Will be back next time I am in town.
We read the reviews for this restaurant and were so excited about eating here. It was my husband's birthday and we like good food. I ordered the halibut and he ordered the filet Oscar, which is tenderloin with crab in top. My halibut was overly coated in bread crumbs and Italian seasoning. The rice was mushy and flavorless. The only good thing on the plate was the citrus buerre blanc. BUT it didn't go with the Italian seasoning on fish. So bad, I only had a few bites. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly but also bland. The crab was super salty. And believe it or not, the bottom of the baked potato was burnt! It was not just disappointing because we paid over $100 and it was terrible, it was disappointing because we wanted good food! Anyway, the only saving grace was their cheesecake and the servers were incredibly genuine. They probably have to be with food coming out like that!!
