Awards season is hitting a crescendo now that The New York Times has dropped its 50 favorite restaurants across the country for 2023, following Bon Appétit and Food & Wine. Half of the spots on this annual list—now in its third year—opened following the Times’s 2022 edition, just another indication that it’s boom time for great restaurants right now.
Among the favorites this year are upscale yet homey Thai restaurant Prik Hom in San Francisco, Chicago’s rare Keralan comfort food destination Thattu, and Portland’s Mexican restaurant with a Pacific Northwest twist Lilia Comedor.
Get on these bookings—or trip reservations if you’re all about destination dining—because there’s a lot of ground to cover this year. Here’s the full list of winners.
