Drumroll, please… awards season is officially heating up. Bon Appétit announced its Best New Restaurants this week, and now Food & Wine has entered the group chat with its Best New Chefs list for 2023.

The list is industry gold standard—it’s now in its 35th year and past winners have included legendary chefs like Nancy Silverton, Daniel Boulud, and David Chang. Plus, it follows F&W’s 10 Best Restaurants in the US list, as selected by readers, from earlier this year, meaning there’s even more reason to be excited to eat out right now.

Among the Best New Chefs this year are Eunji Lee, whose pastry wizardry has seen lines out the door in New York; Emmanuel Chavez, who is pushing boundaries by using corn in nearly every dish on the menu at Houston’s Tatemó; and Aisha Ibrahim, who is having tons of fun with the tasting menu at Seattle’s storied Canlis.

As for the Best Restaurants, Nashville Roman spot Yolan, NYC Mediterranean destination Zou Zou’s, and LA seafood stunner Providence all made the cut.

So with that, here are F&W’s Best New Chefs and Best Restaurants in the US for 2023.
