- RRichardWisconsin •6 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoA big fan of the Bartolotta Restaurant Group, first time at The Commodore was a very nice experience overall but fell short one element of their business model that differentiates this restaurant from their other restaurants - an enhanced service model. First, the atmosphere is simply wonderful, warm, welcoming, comfortable, beautiful - top notch. As for the food, very good variety on the menu with creative variations that differentiate The Commodore from other restaurant's menus. As for service, this is the main place where the experience fell short for us. While they certainly made the moment feel special with complimentary champaign and a dessert as we were celebrating an anniversary the core service disappointed in a number of areas - 1) awkwardly long pauses between between service checks 2) incomplete and then incorrect courses brought to our table with no explanation 3) no voice-over on what was being served 4) not once asked how the courses served were cooked, if they met expectations, if we were enjoying, etc. and then 5) lastly items left out of our doggie, to-go bag....lastly one small nit was that they served butter from Vermont - would love to see this special Wisconsin restaurant put a consistent emphasis on farm to table local suppliers wherever it makes sense with butter of course being one with many great options...More infoThe Commodore - A Bartolotta RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Hartland•4.7

Discover Waukesha
The scenic city of Waukesha was once a spa town and remains a popular Midwestern escape. Waukesha is located in the heart of Wisconsin, and its dining options are funky and diverse. From sushi to unique tacos, you'll find your global favorites here. Even the American restaurants are unconventional with some popular small-plate eateries offering fried chicken and octopus on the same menu. A bit of the South has also come north in the form of great barbecue. When you're looking for a good brat, Waukesha has some of the best authentic German food in the state. If you need a break from cheese curds and bratwursts, try some fried okra and baby back ribs.
