Went to Mahogany for the very first time to celebrate our 8th anniversary. The food was outstanding! I had the filet, and my wife had the ribeye. Ordered both medium. They may have been slightly overcooked, but it was just fine and certainly not a problem as we prefer over vs under cooked. Also ordered the lobster mac n cheese (this is a must get! ) and the brussel sprouts which were ok, but kind of sweet. I didn't like the mix of the sweet flavor with the rest of the plate. The service was below average for the quality and price of the restaurant. There were two waiters. One of them talked so fast we couldn't understand him. He just rushed through his specials script without really trying to sell us on the offering. I had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times because I actually wanted to know what they were offering since we hadn't been there before. The other waitress was very nice and accommodating, but she came across as clueless. For desert, my wife wanted chocolate cake, so when the waitress went on and on about their four-layer cake we wanted it! Moments later someone brought us a chocolate desert which was not a chocolate cake and said they didn't have the four-layer cake anymore. We were very disappointed as we would not have ordered what they brought us. We ate it anyway and certainly didn't complain. I wanted a scotch post dinner. When I saw that they had the Dalmore 15, I was beyond excited as it's one of my favorites. When she brought my whiskey, I noticed the color was off. I took a sip, and immediately realized it was Balvenie Caribbean Cask. Super shock as it's much sweeter than Dalmore 15. I let her know it wasn't right, and she brought me the Dalmore. She admitted she didn't know what the Dalmore was so she brought the Balvenie. I thought that was crazy. Bottom line the service didn't overcome the delicious meal or our overall experience, and hopefully we'll get to go back one day. MoreOpenTable Diner -
