The Melting Pot - OKC Ratings and Reviews
This was the first experience that I was not ok with. We do twice yearly girls nights and ask that we get a fun server for a group. This time we were put in a ‘family’ section and were asked to keep it down and reminded that it was a family restaurant. Ok fine, I get that you put us in a kid section, but why were we not seated in our usual table, that’s pretty secluded and not around kids?
Either way, our group of 8 was crowded with 2 pots instead of the usual 3 and the usual table that we have sat at the last 6 get together was open and for whatever reason we were take that way then changed at the last minute.
Needless to say, out loud group get together a that average $50 per person will be taken elsewhere. And thanks Chubby for reminding us we were in a family section. :(
Our table stopped heating multiple times throughout the meal which really slowed everything down (especially while trying to cook meat). Our waitress was busy so we had to wait for her to come reach under our table and mess with the cord to get it working again. Finally after having to do that multiple times it just quit completely and she had to move us to another table. Our waitress told the manager but he never made any attempt to talk with us or apologize! She was really sweet and trying to manage several tables. When she asked him for help he never even came over. First time there. Food was just ok.
For the price there are many better choices in Bricktown.
Food -- very good. Service - excellent. Ambiance - excellent in our section of the restaurant. One tiny issue -- the seating was quite low, so it was difficult to see into the pot where our food was cooking. Otherwise a wonderful experience, very romantic, and top notch service!
Wonderful atmosphere for an intimate date night. Four course meal plan was full of many delicious options at an affordable price. We loved the cheese foundue with a big glass of red wine! The chocolate was so decedent and the perfect finish to an amazing evening!
We love it, however they really need a separate area that is closed off for romantic dinners because then though we was in the couples area we could hear children running to the restroom, yelling and babies screaming. Honestly that really killed the romantic dinner I had hoped for our anniversary.
I was looking forward to trying desserts at The Melting Pot for my boyfriend's 30th birthday celebration. A lady called me to confirm the reservation the day of, she was nice and asked me several detailed questions of what was the occasion and etc. I told her and the conversation went on for 5-8 minutes. She then told me I could only have the table for 1 hour since it is only for dessert, okay fine with me I was too bothered by it however my reservation was for 9:45 PM and the restaurant closes at 11 PM. Anyways, the evening arrived and we came to the restaurant. The service was good as expected from the price. However, after spending almost 10 mins asking me questions, I thought the restaurant was going to do something special for my boyfriend...but I was disappointed. They managed to say happy birthday and that was it. I did not expect them to do anything special however, if you are grilling me for 10 minutes of a series of questions please do something special...do not waste my time or just say this is a survey would you like to participate. The chocolate fondue was okay. Nothing special to the melted chocolate and the fruits. I was expecting a little more of the fruits since it ended up being a totaled of $35 for desserts only. I do not think this place is worth it just for dessert and it is a little bit overrated. My server was great, nice and attentive. Would I come here again? No. Would I recommend it to someone who is dying to try it? Sure, if you have the $45 per person to spare.
Our waitress Chy (Cheyenne) was absolutely wonderful! This was our first time and she answered all of our questions without hesitation and with a smile on her face. The food was, of course, amazing!! We have zero complaints and will be back in the future :)
I received an email about a family valentines meal. The email and website both did not specify a time only a date. I reserved a table based off of that. When we got there we were seated and then told that there was a time that the promotion ended. The manager told me that the website and email did not specify a time and then very condescendingly inform me and my family that they would not and will not honor their promotion. This was very disappointing to me and my family as we have been in several times and have enjoyed each visit until this one. Sadly to say we will not be returning due to the condescending and down right rude management here.
The food was good, but our server was the slowest person and he asked way too many personal questions and made everyone at the table uncomfortable with his probing. We know that it takes a while to eat fondue, but he wasn't concerned about the time between courses and it was so frustrating to eat here.
I’ve been here several times and I’ve liked it- I took my friend because they had never been. We went on a weekday and I think they might have been short handed because the service wasn’t like it has been in the past. Food was still good but service was a little lacking this time
The private dining room for our dinner was great. We had 3 grandkids with us, so they could wiggle around without bothering anyone but us. Our server and everyone we encountered were professional and helpful. I wasn’t thrilled that the menu didn’t have any gluten free notations, but the waitress made sure to tell the kitchen of my allergy & I was able to enjoy the meal. There was no seasoning on the mahi mahi, but assumed that was due to the avoiding gluten, and the quinoa, kale & carrots, and charred jalapeño au grautin potatoes made up for it.
The giant ice cream to share for my birthday was enough for the 7 of us. Very nice evening & we will come back some other time without the kids and grandkids for a date night some day.
