- JJoelChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWonderful service, only one dish we didn't absolutely love (the octopus could have used some lemon or something). But the only real problem is the cold air - the vestibule, it does nothing to keep the wind out.More infoRose MaryPrice: Expensive• Croatian• West Loop•4.7

- SSophiaChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe came down for my daughter's first Walnut Room experience and it was nothing short of amazing. Our server Lex was so kind and attentive, he took his time to go over the menu and answer questions, and despite how busy it was he did not rush his time with us at all. I had the salmon which was so yummy, and my mom got the burger that came with the worlds best fries. My daughter had the mac and cheese which she talked about the whole way home bc it was 'the cheesiest' (step aside Kraft) it was such a great time and of course the winter fairies made it even more magical.More infoThe Walnut Room - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Loop•4.6
- EEmily ElizabethvipIndiana •4 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoA life changing meal. I came here with a group of 6 as a work holiday celebration meal. Every dish was delicious, misticanza del campo salad, the gnocchi appetizer, focaccia, braised beef short rib meatballs, we ordered 4 pasta, steaks, and a couple desserts. Our waiter (Matt) was extremely helpful in recommending the perfect amount of food and each dish was timed perfectly. My recommendation is go with a larger group and try as much as you can.More infoTre DitaPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.7
- MMikeChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe had a great visit at Aba. We arrived with a reservation and were seated immediately. My date was not able to brush off the cold temperature on the terrace, so we opted to sit at the bar and wait for a table at the inside dinning room. The host staff were very polite and told us of the hour plus wait. We decided to stay at the bar and eat dinner there, though the host staff found us a table within 15 minutes of us sitting at the bar. We dined out often and the bar area is always an option for us, so we didn’t want to inconvenience anyone. Again, the host staff handled the situation tremendously well and we were very happy with the choices they gave us. Now on to the service and food. The bar staff was uber knowledgeable and coursed out our selections, as it was our first time there. We started out with Prosecco before we dug into the menu choices. We ordered Whipped feta, falafel, truffled salmon, and the green chili shrimp. The bar coursed out our choices perfectly. They suggested we get extra bread with our shrimp, and it was the perfect suggestion. All dishes were delicious and flavorful. Lots of depth in all dishes. We also had a cocktail and a glass of wine. Both were good choices. Bar staff was impeccable in their choices for us and we ended our night celebrating my date’s birthday with a carrot cake. Sans licking the plate, we liked it through the last bite. The staff even lit a candle for the cake! Overall, a knowledgeable and patient staff led us through our first, and certainly, not our last visit to Aba. See you soon Aba!More infoAba - ChicagoPrice: Very Expensive• Mediterranean• West Loop•4.8

Discover Humboldt Park
Humboldt Park, on the west side of Chicago, is home to a large Puerto Rican community that has made jibaritos, a sandwich that uses flattened plantains as bread, popular with local diners. It's also home to one of the oldest family-owned bakeries in the area, offering cookies, cakes, donuts and bread. Casual cuisine is found at diner-style venues that serve BBQ chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and gyros. Upscale restaurants include a caviar bar as well as modern Mexican cuisine that elevates street corn and taquitos using gourmet touches. The local tavern offers craft beers and specialty cocktails along with tempting Asian-fusion dishes.
