Byblos Café, originally a Mediterranean market, has been a staple in the orange circle since the 50’s. It was sold to Adel and Zalfa Mahshi in 1989. The family run business became a favorite in the town for Lebanese cuisine. Many locals loyally frequented the spot for their famous Turkish coffee. In 2022, Daily Dose Hospitality, the crew that also runs Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, purchased the business from the family. While Adel and Zalfa had the opportunity to retire, their son, Tim, joined the team alongside Pedram Yazarlou as operating partners. They have transitioned the cuisine to a Mediterranean fusion style with influences from Greece, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, & Jordan.

    Service was excellent as usual. Every time we visited we are always well taken care of. The Happy Hour half off bottle of wine is the best. Wine selections are great with interesting wine from all over the world. However, this time we ordered 1.5 dozen of oysters (minter sweet) and although they tasted fresh, the texture were not the best. Also, they were not shucked as nicely as it could be because we found small pieces of shell in a quite a few of them. But, I will still recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting old town Orange.

    We were celebrating a birthday and with two toddlers sometimes breakfast is easier. There were 10 of us including the two toddlers. Asked for high chairs in our reservations and they had them ready for us. Service was attentive and friendly. Natalie our server was excellent. The whole staff was great. There was a nice brunch selection. From chicken fried steak, pulled pork Benedict to pancakes and eggs. We tried all three plus the chile verde burrito, veggie omelet, butter burger, and the amazing cinnamon roll which is big enough to share for the table. There was an adorable happy birthday waffle sundae. If you have a big group this is a great place.

    Another great meal at Francoli’s. I had a special with pesto and seafood, it was so good! My friend had the lobster and tagliatelle and she loved hers as well. Our server was great and had excellent wine recommendations. Cute, small place.
