Cold food. Took forever to get dinner. Quality was poor. Expensive. Wont go back
Need more chicken and fish choices. Other than that it was awesome.
Went here for a 16th birthday. They only wished the girl “Happy Birthday” about 10 times(!). It was lovely! Can’t get a better view. Food was great. Very special. Thank you Orange Hill!
Great food with a great view! We celebrated my Birthday and got a free dessert.
Food was fantastic and service was excellent Incredible view
Went to Orange Hill for 98th birthday sunset dinner.
Our server, Julian, was excellent; however the kitchen sent out our entree before we were finished with our soup/salad. Prime rib was tough (better last year). My partners salmon dish was too spicy so he could not eat much.
We were celebrating our 10th Anniversary and got there a little bit before sunset. What a fantastic view, we could see the ocean and Catalina Island. The sunset was spectacular. Very romantic. Service was great. The food was expensive and could have been better for the price. What your paying for is the amazing view. We did get a surprise for our anniversary, a dessert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. That was a nice touch. Loved the Koi pond in the entrance.
Our waiter Julian was amazing very attentive and always smiling.
I reserved this special occasion months in advance. I feel they should have made the special occasion more special than a tiny piece of cake with a candle. They need to replenish the oysters.
Tried the chateaubriand and it was delicious. We also had the Brussels sprouts appetizer which we had had before. This time it was missing the corned beef and much of the mustard sauce? So it was not as good. View was spectacular. Service was also very good but we did have to wait even with a reservation.
I took my fiancé here prior to proposing to her. I read such great reviews and the photos convinced me. This restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and a great place for a date with a scenic view. Our SERVICE here is nothing to brag about. I worked as a server and bartender a few years so I am especially understanding, however our experience could have been better. Our initial waters took a while to get to our table and the cocktail I had was simply average. All in all I would certainly recommend this place to others, I’m sure the service will be better. If not the view is something to remember and the food was quite tasty
We had our wedding reception here in 1986 so Orange Hill holds a special place in our hearts. We got the pre fixe dinners and food was great as was the service. Great view and value.
Steak had very little flavor. It was very dry and we ordered Medium rare. Needs more
Seasoning. Need an au jus option or a butter finish.
Was here for Birthday celebration with friends. It’s cozy restaurant with breathtaking view and friendly staffs. Foods were great and flavorful. Cocktails were amazing too. We got MaiTai and they were just right, Not too sweet and not too strong. Overall, we had great experience.
Fantástico la comida deliciosa el lugar muy acogedor y romántico fue una buena sorpresa para .i esposo en su cumpleaños
Great restaurant me and my wife have been going there for over 20 years.
Waited an hour to be seated even with reservation.
Almost got charged double for bottle of vine. A little bit to crowded, but that is not a negative, I will just come on work days next time.
Vine, food and view were really good. Overall, I will come here again.
Great service, nice bar, excellent views, very friendly and caring from our waitress.
Great view of LA and nice ambience. Food was very good. Some of the premium liquors were way overpriced. Overall, a great experience.
Been visiting Orange Hill for years . Always spot on with food ,was disappointing with our service Thursday from Patrick, usually have no delays or waiting for such a long time for everything from drinks on.
Sunset menu nicely matched with an awesome sunset scene.
Very disappointed. The good stuff: fabulous high view over the city of Orange looking west over Los Angeles, efficient valet parking, friendly waiter. The Not-so-great stuff: longer wait for the table (with a reservation) to then find many open tables around us and then it’s a table next to the outside door. Big push by the staff when you arrive to go to the bar to get a drink...which you have to pay for in the bar...not added to your dinner. Lighting was very low...difficult to read the menu...got to hold the table candle up to the menu. Ordered a couple of Filet steaks med-rare...came out med to well. They tasted very good...but over cooked. Order one “Oskar style” with crab and bearnaise sauce...the sauce was not Bearnaise or even the color of a traditional Bearnaise sauce, more like a Au Jus liquid poured over the crab and steak. I should have ordered the sauce on the side and poured it myself. Dessert had two items not available from the menu (it’s a Monday night at 8pm, what - everyone in the restaurant ordered those items?)and the Lemon Meringue pie was a mystery...gluey meringue smeared on the plate, blow torched and then a slice of lemon custer something? on top with two thin wet lemon slices on top. Not recommended. Lastly during the dinner two waiters stripped and cleared all the un-occupied tables around us...like they were closing the restaurant right in front of the customers. Why? Ambience killer.
So - the kitchen and the dinning room manager (Maitre D, if there even is one) do not operate at a high standard. The location has great potential...but with all the restaurant choices in the Orange County and LA, and you are going to spend $300-$400...this restaurant needs a number of improvements.
We have been here several times for dinner over the years, but mostly have come for happy hour bar menu with a view (which is nice and will do again!). Celebrating our anniversary we thought we would try full dinner again. It was disappointing. The filet was fine, but the potatoes were worse than if scooped from a buffet line. We expect much more for that price point. When dessert menu was offered to us we were not warned that we would also have a little "happy anniversary" complimentary dessert as well. So we ordered too much. The complimentary would have been fine (although for price point it could have been a little nicer, a scoop of ice cream with it or something?) The butterscotch pudding was not very good, the brussel sprouts were not crispy. Interior is a bit tired. Nice for fire pits, outdoor area, view and the bar... but not the main restaurant in our opinion.
We love this place, we come here for all our special occasions. Great food and service is excellent. Amazing view.
We had a great time. The food was excellent. The service was great.
We were celebrating our anniversary and the setting and food was amazing. It was very romantic and unforgettable.
The only thing that I was surprised by was how simple and not so well maintained the restroom was. The entire place is beautiful except the restroom. I believe the restroom should reflect the rest of the building and the ambiance. Hate to say it but for such a beautiful place the restroom looks like it belongs in a gas station.
I will definitely come back....
Had a great time celebrating my wife's birthday. Great views. Food was okay, but not great. Nice wine selection, but pricey.
Night out with my Beautiful Wife
First time there and I Absolutely loved it! Great service and view
The Orange Hill Restaurant is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk the pathway to the front door til the end of your dinning experience. We sat outside and the view was absolutely stunning. We both had the filet mignon cooked medium, and it melted in our mouths with each bite. The sides were especially tasty, and the deserts are delicious. We will definitely be back.
The food was bad. Also they did not have a lot of the items on the menu
Thank you for making our 20th anniversary extra special! Everything went great. The restaurant confirmed our reservation on Open Table. We were greeted by all the restaurant staff wishing us a happy anniversary. We had a nice glass of wine on the patio with amazing views and then had an awesome dinner with a table by the window. The service, food, and ambiance was top notch! Thank you!!!
It was our anniversary and Chris made it very special for us
The atmosphere is great for friend getting together but the food was not good considering the price as compared to a fine dinning restaurant.
Always love our time at Orange Hill! We arrive early for our dinner so we can go to the bar first and have one of their wonderful coctails! Everyone is always so friendly and attentive. The steak was fabulous! Everything is always so fresh and they are always willing to substitute side dishes. The Vanilla creme brulee or Chocolate Lava cake is a must for dessert!! Don't forget the unbelievable view!! Sunset is amazing!!
Good food and a setting you will find hard to beat.
The food was exceptional. The view was stunning. The service was amazing. I don't know what could have been better about our first visit to Orange Hill. You guys have an amazing restaurant!!
excellent food, good service, great location, good for birthday's anniversary or any occasion.
It was a great meal and Jacob is an excellent waiter
Service unbelievably slow! Sat on patio, which was about 3/4 occupied. Bar area empty, dining area light. Took approx 45+ minutes to receive drinks ordered with only 3 of the 6 in our party receiving the drinks ordered.. Another 45 minutes for server to come back to our table to take our food order. Took another 45min-1hr to receive our food with one person’s order left out! Manager added to the frustration making excuses for the kitchen when we asked to report the terrible service with her. Manager comped one bottle of wine that too forever to be delivered but then charged it onto other guest’s bill at the table! Server was sweet but Manager very lacking this night. We have been to OHR many times and never had issue like tonight. We think this manager needs more training how to manage flow and customer service.
