Café Sbisa, established in 1899 and the third oldest fine-dining establishment in the French Quarter, is proud to re-open under the direction of a new team to once again offer the highest quality French-Creole cuisine in a welcoming, historical setting that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Spearheading the new Café Sbisa are Mr. Craig Napoli, who successfully ran the notable restaurant from 1992 - 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, and Chef Alfred Singleton, who met Craig when he started working for him at the former Café Sbisa as a prep cook. Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana.

We found them trough Google Maps and because of its rating (4.5) and posted pictures my sister and I decided to eat here. We did reserve online and all went great while arriving to the restaurant and Michael's assistance and serving. Great place!

Great place … the wait staff was excellent I must say … very professional, warm and efficient. The host at the front door seemed a little enamored with him self and was not as welcoming as one would have thought. I had a reservation but, stopped by about 45 minutes early to ask if I could be seated early. The answer was I had to come back at the reservation time even though … clearly there were open tables avaliable. But, if you exclude the host experience … it was a five star occasion

We dined here for the first time last night. Terrific suggestions and service from our waiter Roshawn? Lobster dumplings app, Skalibut (halibut and scallop) entree were delicious. We rounded out the meal with a crème brûlée dessert which was also very good. The wine selection was good with numerous wines at various price points. We loved the atmosphere especially the banquettes around the exterior of the dining room. Truly a New Orleans gem.

The shrimp was over the top A SALTY!!!! The waitress asked ahead whether I had dietary concerns and I already told her I can’t do too much salt. Why didn’t she tell me before I ordered that the shrimp was salty? Secondly I asked if they had herbal non-caffeinated tea and she names two that contained caffeine. She needs more education regarding the menu. Not enough to just be courteous.
