The Reef of St. Augustine
Price: Expensive•Seafood•4.6(2,694)The Reef, originally called Comptons, was built by the Usina family on a beautiful piece of oceanfront property, owned by the family for generations, located on tranquil North Beach, three miles north of the Usina Bridge. Comptons opened in 1989 and enjoyed great success for the next ten years. It closed in 1999 due to the ill health of Mr. Compton and hurricane damage. There are few remaining true Oceanfront restaurants in Northeast Florida, and of those, The Reef, commands the most spectacular views. Sit at any table inside and the view is dynamic to say the least, or enjoy the recently rebuilt and expanded deck where you not only look out at The Ocean, you listen to it too as the waves break and the birds cry. To complement this vista Chef Denzel Aponte' has created a menu primarily of fish and seafood balanced with beef, poultry pasta and creative specials, always fresh and sourced locally whenever possible.Columbia Restaurant - St. Augustine

Homemade bread and sweet potato ravioli was amazing and the sea bass and steak frites was the same. Intrigued by the pre order menu so can’t wait to go back for the Bronzino. Prices were high but definitely worth it. Atmosphere was equals great as the food.More infoAsado LifePrice: Moderate• Grill• St. Augustine•4.7
- DDaleJacksonville / Northeast Florida •9 reviews4.0Dined 7 days agoWe have eaten here several times previously and the food was excellent. However today the food was only fair and we were a little disappointed. Even though the food was only fair we still gave 4 stars only because the service was exceptional. If this was our first time here we probably wouldn’t come back. Since we had Good service and good food on previous visits we’ll give a second chance in the future and hope today’s food quality was just a fluke or off day.More infoCrabbys BeachsidePrice: Moderate• Seafood• Saint Augustine Beach•4.2

Discover St. Augustine
St. Augustine restaurants offer daily specialty dishes created from local ingredients by regional chefs. This is especially true of the many seafood eateries found along the shoreline. Local restaurants provide views of the water from their beachside locations along with menus featuring crab, shrimp, fresh oysters, scallops and fish. Many of these establishments also include pasta dishes, steaks and sandwiches for those who want something other than seafood. Family-friendly, casual restaurants serving American fare are also common in St. Augustine. Cafes have varied brunch and lunch menus with breakfast burritos, soups and salads. Dinner options have a Southern flair with fried chicken, breaded pork chops and char-broiled burgers. Barbecued ribs, pork and chicken also highlight Southern cuisine in St. Augustine.
