From start to finish this was a great experience. Our table had the calamari as an appetizer and enjoyed it. The complementary bread and flavored evoo was delicious. Had an incredible pizza and two of us had pasta dishes. All superb!

Those steak frites were yummy! And as always the salade nicoise was delicious. I had the Dover sole and honestly, it was just ok. . . it wasn't this really wonderfully fresh tasty Dover Sole. . . I know it's one the signature dishes, but it wasn't out of this world. . I probably wouldn't order it again. My husband had some and he felt the same way about it. . meh. . . Our waiter Sebastion was absolutely wonderful though. . top notch guy who was very helpful. Marimar is really just about my most favorite local restaurant, with so many fabulous menu items, it's always hard to decide what to order! That french onion soup! The pasta on special also looked fabulous. . the soft shell crab looked amazing. . .I'd always order the fois gras which I think is the best! Better than the one I had at Obelisk in the city!

Excellent old school family Italian restaurant. The family that runs it is super friendly and Cynthia our server was excellent. Because it was our anniversary she brought us free chocolate cake for dessert. The shrimp scampi was incredibly good easy to get to and free valet parking.

The restaurant offers delicious food, but the atmosphere doesn’t quite match that of the former Highland Park location.

this local, loved South American-inspired restaurant is always a treat, from a girls night out to a special occasion to just stopping by for a small plate and a beer. Chef Tony always has surprises on his menu, mixing local flavors with traditional recipes. I'm always hard pressed to decide whether to eat the barramundi or the salmon, while my meat-eating diner have a wide range of options from skirt steak to tenderloin, wrapped in sauces straight from South America, lots of mole and chimichurris and sauteed onions and right now with grilled asparagus for Spring. Their fried plantains are also excellent. Service is friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Highly recommend for a new taste experience if you have not had South American fare.
