Highbury/Islington Restaurants

Have run out of superlatives to describe this place. Took some friends and one of them asked what sort of food it was. “It’s f**king great food” was all I could really think of to describe it. It’s bold and brave and clever and nothing ever misses the mark. Some old favourites deliver as always - the borscht back, lamb offal flatbread, bone marrow with ox heart and bavette salad, charred hospital cabbage with fermented shrimp butter. It’s all amazing. It’s generally quite loud in there, the tables are close together, and the music, like the food, is probably best described as punchy. You could be listening to Snoop Dogg or Metallica as you fight over the last of the frozen lemon meringue pie or sink another excellent negroni / margarita. I’ll stop now. Just go. You won’t regret it.

Excellent restaurant. The food was delicious, free bread and tzatziki at the start. Mains were lovely. Service was brilliant. Also no service charge added automatically but we were happy to give one as the service was so good. Would highly recommend. Literally just round the corner from the station as well so easy to get to.

We love The Nook, they have lovely small plates including a cast vegetarian menu and great wine including lovely Orange wine
