Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.

On arrival they both said what a great setting it was and how nice the staff were…..then the food came out! They were amazed at the content, presentation and the level of service we received. First time visitors tonight and pleasantly surprised. All 4 of us shared chateau Briand which was cooked medium rare and superbly tender. We probably made the school boy error of not ordering extra veg as we lacked some greenery but other than that it was very good. It’s nice to see a chef that knows how to rest a decent cut of meat properly. All washed down with a couple of bottles of St’emlion red I’m sure we will return soon

We came to celebrate our daughter’s 24th birthday and had a lovely evening. We all chose items from the specials menu and found the choice of wine and drinks for the men in the party good. It was a warm evening and both doors were open to allow air movement, this was very pleasant. Service was great, really attentive and friendly. Thanks for a lovely evening.

The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport.

The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis.
