We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

As a regular visitor we love to bring our guests to the orange tree restaurant ,I requested a table by the window in the entrance which was kindly put in place and the varied menu gave everyone plenty of choices including one of our guests who was vegetarian. I had the special seafood linguine ,my husband had the chicken dish stuffed with spinach and chorizo, one of our guests had the lamb koftas and the other had the cauliflower vegetarian dish all beautifully presented and really delicious .The ambience is really nice and service is outstanding so a big thankyou for making our experience so good

There are five Bettys Café Tea Rooms in Yorkshire, each with its own shop where you can walk in and enjoy breakfast, lunch and an afternoon treat.

Bettys is famous for afternoon tea, and if you want to experience the finest we offer, you can book a table for our Belmont Room in York or our Imperial Room in Harrogate. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.
Join us for evening dining Thursday to Saturday, where we bring together elegant surroundings, a refined food and drinks menu. Also, for that extra dash of after-hours elegance, a pianist performs live classical covers of popular contemporary music.
