Have gone several times and have noticed that the service staff tend to cater to larger groups - not they ignore you but the level of attention is definitely less. About the restaurant
Bar Primi is a corner pasta shop devoted to ‘primi piatti,’ the pasta course. What began as an idea for a small space in New York's East Village has since become an essential in chef and co-owner Andrew Carmellini's range: fresh pasta traditionally prepared and cooked to order. At Bar Primi, the main course is Primi Piatti. We use a variety of non-GMO semolina and specialty ‘00’ flours, organic eggs and handed-down techniques to create our menu of Traditional and Seasonal pasta dishes. We make more than a dozen different shapes and styles daily. This includes lumache and rigatoni from our imported extruder or ravioli and mezzalune cut and filled by hand. Family recipes and secrets are traded between Carmellini and Brooklyn-born chef-partner Salvatore Lamboglia who also offers a daily meat or seafood special in addition to a selection of shareable Piccolini and Antipasti, artisanal cheese, salumi and simple home-style desserts.

Great neighborhood spot. Excellent bar, good seating indoors and outdoors. Huge portions. Had the beet salad which was almost a meal in itself. It was a weeknight so the restaurant was quiet and I could actually hear my dinner companions speak.LOL. Lovely service from Dottie, our waitperson, who was very attentive. Prices are not cheap and averaged out to $100/pp for a salad appetizer, entree, and 2 Happy Hour drinks. But that's post-covid life...

About the restaurant
Situated just a short walk from the Scarsdale Metro-North Station, Café Alaia, a Michelin award winner 2020 thanks to its cozy décor, soaring ceilings and welcoming owner (Vincenzo Alaia), the dining room is all buzz. Thoughtfully arranged tables, framed by rustic wooden chairs, typically bear elevated versions of regional Italian dishes. Pastas are a highlight and fittingly so, like tender spinach- and ricotta-filled ravioli bathed in a melted sage-infused butter. Squid stuffed with crab, spinach and breadcrumbs is augmented by perfectly poached cherry tomatoes, not unlike the fresh figs set atop a crostata di pere. A bar in the middle is ideal for solo or couple diners who want to linger.

Our brand new space has plenty of room to accommodate social distancing. We have installed the highest rated air purification system with state of the art UV technology combined with MERV 13 Filtration.

This is a beautiful, intimate venue, good for a date night or a group dinner. The service is excellent and attentive without being too much. Our empanadas, ceviche, arepitas were delicious. I had a Canta Clara before dinner and it was such a good drink. The chicken entree I had was a bit bland (which was surprising) in terms of the way the chicken was prepared but the sofrito was excellent! I would definitely return. A nice experience and a staff that really seems focused on customer service. We brought a group of international friends with a range of religious and other dietary restrictions, and the restaurant accommodated everything without an issue. I was impressed. In fact, I have to say that the vegetarian food was better than the regular meal. The main dishes that were served for the regular meal were our least favorite- especially the red meat. The first courses were universally great - each one tasty and well presented. I personally loved the crudo and the watermelon salad the most. Glad we went, but if I went back, I might be tempted to tell them I don’t eat red meat. The fish and vegetables were very good.

Faun has proudly become a neighborhood mainstay - but being within easy walking distance of The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, The Brooklyn Library, and Barclays Center - dinner or brunch here is a perfect stop for visitors from all over!

A friend took me to Faun for my birthday (it was the only one of our Vanderbilt Avenue choices that had an opening when we wanted to dine), and we had a wonderful time. We were seated in the outside patio--which is behind the restaurant proper--and were quite comfortable there. Virtually every seat was filled, yet the noise level never became unpleasant. I started with a specialty cocktail and my friend had wine; both were very good selections, as were our tasty appetizers. My main course was a perfectly-cooked pork chop, done through yet still juicy, while his half chicken was so large he was unable to order dessert. (One small gripe: bread is not supplied, but must be purchased.) Several people attended to our needs, but our main waiter was named Collin, very laid-back and easygoing. The manager also checked in on us at one point, and we said what a good evening it had been for us.

About the restaurant
Founded by former Ziegfield girl Helen Gallagher and the colorful gambler and sports enthusiast Jack Solomon, Gallaghers opened as a speakeasy and steakhouse in 1927. At that time, the height of Prohibition, a good stiff drink and a great steak were hard to find in New York – except, of course, at Gallaghers.

New Yorkers come for the world-class cocktails and incredible steak – prime beef dry-aged for 21 days in Gallaghers’ legendary windowed meat locker. The combination of all-natural dry aging and cooking it to perfection over hickory coals makes for a steak unlike any other found in New York.

Gallaghers’ guests are welcome in a wide variety of attire – from elegant casual to business suits. We respectfully request that you refrain from wearing hats, sports jerseys, tank tops and shorts.

I usually eat at the bar. Booked a table for out of town friends. I always order the warm bread. This time I ordered so it was ready when my friends arrived, and it was not same. I was told that because it was Sunday night the restaurant serves a focaccia. It seemed like a large roll that was bought at a bakery and made hot in the oven. Not easy to slice. Not as warm or tasty as the usual bread. I wish I had known this. Especially since it was $9. And when I complained to the server, I felt it should have been removed from the bill. It wasn’t. I believe if you cannot serve the same bread on Sunday, then put on your menu Monday through Saturday only for the great bread. Halibut was delicious.

Good food. Good Service. There were 2 orders we placed and they never came out. We asked about it and the waiter said we never ordered them. This was a little frustrating, He eventually put the order in. he felt back about the situation and gave us complimentary olives.
