Restaurants near West 87th Street Garden

We had been eager to try the new Chinese restaurant that had taken over the location of La Mirabelle, our favorite local French eatery for many years. Aves did not disappoint. The space has been beautifully renovated to match the new cuisine and to add a placid and welcoming ambiance. As for the food, it was wonderful. A tangy cucumber salad with spicy chili dressing went well with our pork dumpling appetizer. The port stir fry, which we shared as our main course, was also tasty and perfectly spiced. Their cocktails warrant mention as well. We had a delightful evening and will no doubt be back.

This is a lovely French bistro. Unpretentious and comfortable, with top-notch friendly and experienced service, and a delicious arrange of fairly traditional French food. The atmosphere is just right and relaxed, including perfect lighting, and an open front (the night we were there) with a nice view of the UWS neighborhood. You'll feel a bit like you are in Paris for dinner, but it feels especially like a very New York spot in all the best ways.

I was here for my 40th birthday and totally loved the entire experience. No complaints.

My daughter and I ate here on Mothers Day. The ambience was amazing, the food was very delicious, service was really good, very quaint. It is a must visit!
