Magical is a word thrown around a lot when discussing Tavern On The Green and one can’t help but feel magic in the air. Jim and David, architect Richard Lewis and landscape architect Robin Key, preserved the Victorian/ Gothic elegance of the semi-circular building; it is authentic, natural, elegant and sexy. It has been re-built to spectacular precision and the décor is of a grand farmhouse one might find on the property of an Italian Villa or a historic Hudson River Valley mansion.Dress Code: Smart Casual. A little about us & the culture that has been created… Friedmans is a family run business, which operates locations throughout New York City. Friedmans was named after the famous economist Milton Friedman who popularized the phrase, “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. This phrase has gone on to be used in science, economics, finance, statistics, technology, sports, & now food. However, to put it simply, “to get one thing we like, we usually have to give up another thing we like.” Our mantra is simple, “Eat good food” and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests. For us, it has two meanings. Firstly, eat food that tastes good. Secondly, be proud of the food you serve. We know where our food comes from. We communicate regularly with our farmers and are proud to serve antibiotic free meats & local vegetables. Our mission is for you to love, respect, & enjoy, not only the food you serve, but also the team you work with.

A great pre-theatre dinner. Lovely restaurant in a grand building! We split the shrimp cocktail and delicious half chicken and it was perfect for pre-theatre. A good meal but not too heavy. I highly recommend.

It was our first time visiting Tavern on the Green and the host sat us in the room with all the windows on a 90 degree day. Between the heat from the kitchen and the heat from the sun, we asked to move to a different room. It was also a little loud in that room, as the noise carried. The host and manager were so incredibly kind, picked up everything from our table to relocate and moved us to a table near the bar. We even had the same server, who we absolutely loved! So we were glad to keep him. The food and service was fantastic. We hated to be such a pain in the you know what, but we were so grateful to the staff for working it out for us. Dining at Tavern on the Green was a bucket list item for sure and it exceeded our expectations.

Incredible food, atmosphere. Allow extra time to find it in the mall. Service the first time we went was perfect. The second time, bad/rushed/then slow. Best Caesar salad and tuna tartare we’ve had in a long time. Get the lemon dessert. We never order dessert but were told to get it and it was worth it. My daughter got the pasta with the pancetta. It was better than the rock shrimp pasta. Both were outstanding but the penne with pancetta was the best. Even with bad service the second time we went it’s a 10/10. Highly recommend.
