Restaurants near Pikes Peak International Raceway

I’m in town for work and decided to grab a bite at one of the restaurants in my hotel. This was the first one I tried, and I absolutely loved it from the moment I walked in. The hostess was incredibly sweet and accommodating, and a gentleman who appeared to be the manager greeted me right away when I seemed a bit out of place waiting for a table switch—which they handled without hesitation. I wanted to be seated closer to the lake. I always start my restaurant ratings with the bread, and let me tell you, it was so good! I had to pace myself because I knew I’d be having pasta later. The ricotta and peach arugula salad special was divine, and while the cacio e pepe was a bit too cheesy for my taste, I’d still give it a solid 8/10. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food were a 9/10.

Perfect except the waffle bubble truck closed early. We were there at 2:30, so we were unable to get them. 😞

Aside from locating the entrance, everything was excellent. There were multiple items on the menu that tempted me. Four of us had four different entrées; Rabbit meatloaf was excellent, there were three large bison short ribs, the chicken cordon bleu was moist, and the duck confit was a double portion. A special shout out to our server Hannah. She was on top of things and took great care of us. A definite return to restaurant.

We have loved The Golden Bee on our previous visits. The service last night was very good. Jesse was our server and took good care of us. We were celebrating our birthdays. The Fish & Chips and onion soup were excellent. What was different from our previous visits was the entertainment, our disappointment was with the piano player. There wasn’t any interaction between the Piano Player and the diners. He didn’t even say hello or ask for requests. No sing along music as we had enjoyed before.

This was my first time dining at Fountain Creek Winery & Eatery. I was meeting my date and hoped this restaurant would live up to my expectations. It delivered! We were there for more than 2 hours enjoying our table conversation. The ambience was perfect as was the service and food. Dress was casual to formal. I will recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. Randy Douglass
